Yet Geelong’s north-facing outlook across the bay a waterfront that’s a great place to be any time, iconic ocean beaches a short drive away and a pace of life that’s not so frantic – gives it a distinctive sense of serenity. Somehow you can’t help but relax. Rich pickings await visitors keen to immerse themselves in the city’s history and heritage, its cultural precincts, its high quality and wide-ranging local produce, its fine dining and its café culture, its bright, busy and extensive retail centres and many entertainment options. And, of course, it’s home to one of the AFL’s most successful clubs in recent years – the mighty Geelong Cats. Equally, it’s a perfect place to visit with no itinerary – just wander, discover and take it all as you find it. If you’re in the city for a few days or more, ensure you visit some of the must-sees, but plan to relax for some of the time as well.
Today, the addition of new bars, hotels and restaurants, a children’s playground and a range of activities on offer, create a unique, vibrant feel to this picturesque part of town. At the eastern end of Geelong’s waterfront is Eastern Park and the Geelong Botanic Gardens. There are many spots here to enjoy panoramic views of the city and bay. Get amongst the wide–open and leafy spaces, play areas and barbecue shelters. You can escape it all for an hour or more in Geelong’s Botanic Gardens too, with its impressive collection of native and exotic flora. Have a cuppa and a bite to eat in the café while you’re there. The City’s retail precinct is a block or two back from the bay, offering a vast range of major brands and a multitude of other smaller outlets. Little more than five minutes by car from the CBD, you’ll find bustling shopping precincts in Geelong West and Belmont. If you’re not in need of intensive retail therapy (or are wanting a break from it), head five or ten minutes south of the CBD and you meet the Barwon River – a great spot for activity, relaxation, or both.
Generations have enjoyed Geelong’s waterfront. The restored carousel, art deco promenade and swimming pavilion are big attractions for children and families, just as they were early last century.

The Waterfront There’s a magnetic charm about the Geelong waterfront. Sometimes the bay is glassy, smooth and almost motionless, other times the whitecaps parade neatly across the water as you gaze over to the You Yangs. The views are compelling, and there’s always something going on – on the sea and on the shore. Take time to watch the boats, have a stroll, eat, drink, read a book or let the kids run loose.
Art With a Difference To experience something that’s distinctively Geelong, check out the Baywalk Bollard Trail. It stretches from Limeburners Point in the east to Rippleside Park, and features a hundred or more characters who have shaped Geelong’s history – from the original indigenous inhabitants to contemporary identities.

Activities & Events on the Water Drop a line off a pier or a fishing boat, take a ride in a seaplane, jetboat or helicopter, enjoy a dip at Eastern Beach on a sunny day – there are plenty of ways to experience the bay. The Royal Geelong Yacht Club and marina is the hub of many recreational and competitive boating activities – including the Festival of Sails event in January. It’s the largest sailing regatta in the southern hemisphere, and complemented by an annual onshore festival.
History & Culture Catch a glimpse of the city and region’s heritage with a visit to one of Geelong’s museums. The National Wool Museum celebrates the significance of the wool industry in this region, which hails back to the early 1800’s. Ten minutes drive out of town is the Maritime Museum at Osborne House in North Geelong. It was Australia’s first naval college, and served as a submarine base in 1922. If you’re into maritime memorabilia, make sure this one’s on your list.
From the waterfront to the heart of the CBD, you’ll find an impressive collection of hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs. Whether you’re wanting a quick bite, a coffee or something stronger to drink, a lazy lunch, or a five-star dining experience – whatever your palate and budget, you’re well catered for in this part of the city.

The Bustling ‘Burbs’ You don’t really get the full picture of life in any city until you venture out of the CBD. Geelong is no different. If you’re into café crawling, sampling some local watering holes or visiting specialty food shops, take a short trip from the CBD to Geelong West, Newtown, Belmont and Highton.
Pakington Street If you’re of the opinion that one shopping precinct’s the same as the next, make a point of visiting cosmopolitan Pakington Street, which connects Geelong West and Newtown – it might just challenge your thinking. There’s a splendid collection of boutique shops and cafés – on weekends in particular, ‘Pako’ hums. International cuisine, cafés, bistros, bars, quirky gifts, clothes and a range of homewares with a difference – ‘Pako’ has it all. In February the annual Pako Festa, Australia’s biggest free celebration of cultural diversity, takes over the Geelong West end of the street. Mark it in the diary – it’s a day you won’t forget. For more details visit www.pakofesta.com.au
10
Belmont & Highton Five minutes south of the city is Belmont – an established and busy suburb offering wining, dining and retail therapy. It has a traditional High Street shopping precinct – home to coffee shops, food outlets and a great selection of specialty shops. Nearby Highton Village has a warm and unfussy feel, with its cafés and specialty food shops and you’ll find all of your day to day conveniences and more at the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre. In Belmont and Highton there are plenty of access points to the Barwon River. Whether you’ve been in the area for days or decades, you’ll find the river a wonderful place to escape. Jog along the walking path, or paddle a canoe between the Moorabool Street and Queens Park bridges, and it hardly seems possible you’re just minutes from the CBD. If that sounds too much like hard work and you’re happy to leave more strenuous pastimes to others, visit Buckley Falls, or discover some of the many idyllic spots along the river valley to enjoy a picnic or a stroll.

Spend a lazy hour or two just meandering through – you never know what you might find. Cosy cafés, a fascinating second hand book store, and plenty more to capture the imagination. Pick up the Geelong Arts and Culture Walking Trails booklet at the local Visitor Information Centres.
Historical Buildings If you’re a lover of heritage homes and other establishments, Geelong’s Heritage Trail will tick boxes and push buttons. It takes you on a tour of grand local residences including Customs House, The Heights in Newtown, and Barwon Grange, built in 1856 (antique lovers should not miss this one). Lara & The You Yangs
Wines of the Region
Lara
You Yangs
Just a short distance away, Lara easily has the best view of the You Yangs. In September the fields come alive with blankets of bright yellow canola flowers – a cheery spring sight after the cold months of winter. Fun fact - the roads around Lara were used for several scenes in the Australian cult film Mad Max.
If you’re travelling down from Melbourne, you can’t go past the impressive granite peaks of the You Yangs without a closer look. Just a stone’s throw from the quaint township of Lara, the You Yangs National Park is a mecca of lovely picnic grounds, family-friendly walking tracks and wildlife. If you’re seeking adventure, there are a number of mountain-bike trails and rock-climbing opportunities, all of which have been recently upgraded. Keep an eye out for more than 200 species of birds, koalas, wallabies, brush-tail possums and echidnas.
Whether you’re a committed wine buff or just one who enjoys an occasional tipple, you’ll enjoy sampling Geelong region wines. Over recent decades they have developed a seriously good reputation for quality – locally, nationally and internationally.
Thousands of aviation fans will flock to the area and look up to the skies for the Australian International Air Show held every 2 years. The gravity-defying weekend is an unbelievable experience, with a number of modern, vintage and military aircrafts on display. Just next to Lara, Avalon Airport offers flights all year round.
The name ‘You Yangs’ comes from the Aborginal words ‘Wurdi Youang’ or ‘Ude Youang’ meaning big mountain. Trek to the top of Flinders Peak, so named for explorer Matthew Flinders who first climbed it in 1802, you’ll be rewarded with an incredible view stretching across Corio Bay. The open space in and around the foothills was of great influence to famous Australian artist Fred Williams who captured the unique ruggedness of the bushland in the area. The You Yangs are also home to a famous Geoglyph called ‘Bunji’, a depiction of a mythical creature of the Wathaurong people created by artist Andrew Rogers.

Geelong & The Bellarine Official Visitor Guide www.geelongbellarineovg.com
Grape growing in this region dates back to the early days of colonisation, and towards the end of the 19th century the area was fast becoming one of this country’s leading winegrowing regions. But disease and recession in the late 1800s took its toll – the industry was devastated. But the good news is that about 50 years ago it came back to life. There are three distinct sub regions – Moorabool Valley to the north of Geelong, the Bellarine to the east of the city, and the Surf Coast. There are some fabulous wineries dotted throughout, many of which retain their small, family-owned heritage.
The Bellarine subregion is bordered by Bass Strait to the south, The Rip and Port Phillip Heads to the east, Swan Bay and Port Phillip Bay to the north, and the Barwon River to the west. Cool climate varieties, including Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Chardonnay, delight the palates of visitors and locals alike, and many also offer other local produce, not to mention galleries, restaurants and accommodation. Visit www.winegeelong.com.au or grab a wine map from the Visitor Information Centre to help you plan a tasting tour. It’s a particularly pleasurable way to see various parts of this region and stock up your cellar as you go. With tour operators offering guided tours and transport you can also choose to let someone else be the designated driver so you can relax and enjoy the day.
The Moorabool Valley subregion stretches from the market gardens of Werribee, with its rich chocolate and dark volcanic topsoils over a limestone base, to the volcanic outcrops of Anakie, the broad acre farmland overlooking the Moorabool, Barwon and Leigh Rivers, and the historical gold country of Steiglitz.

The Bellarine Beaches, enticing coastal towns and villages, great local produce, sumptuous wineries, many ways to have fun, and a wonderful, easy pace of life, that sums up The Bellarine.
Inland is undulating fertile country, where agriculture and other industries flourish – sheep and cattle, winegrowing, alpaca and deer farming, horse breeding and training, and various crops.
Queenscliff was once a playground for Melbourne’s elite, and it’s reflected in many of the town’s splendid Victorian era buildings.
On the cuisine front, you’ll find endless possibilities in restaurants, cafés, weekend markets and other outlets – including fresh local seafood, wine, olives, berries and local cheese.
Development over the past century, including the recently expanded harbour precinct with its 42 metre observation tower, makes for a memorable spot to visit any time. Next to Queenscliff is Point Lonsdale, located on the The Rip – the entrance to Port Phillip Bay – a two kilometre stretch of water separating Point Lonsdale and Point Nepean. The decommissioned lighthouses in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale are imposing figures on the landscape.

To the west is Ocean Grove, the largest residential town on The Bellarine, where the main beach is known as the safest surf beach in Victoria. Nearby, the Barwon River meets the ocean and across the bridge that spans the river mouth is Barwon Heads. If you can’t get enough of the water you won’t want to leave The Bellarine. Many great spots are child-friendly, and plenty more lend themselves to activities for the more adventurous.
Active families will find more than can be covered in a single visit and that’s a great reason to keep coming back. Cycling trails, picnic and barbecue areas, playgrounds, golf courses, tennis courts, mini-golf, mazes, a steam train, water slides, wineries, adventure activities, festivals – and of course the beaches – try fitting all that into one holiday. The Bellarine is home to a multitude of artists and musicians, and there is a range of special events and festivals that celebrate local talent throughout the year. Have the diary handy when you’re here – it’s highly likely you’ll discover something you don’t want to miss. Art galleries are dotted throughout The Bellarine, and if you’re interested in local history, include a visit to both Queenscliff ’s Maritime Museum and Historical Museum on the itinerary.
With snorkelling, SCUBA diving, swimming, jet-skiing, yachting, kayaking, fishing, surfing, stand up paddle boarding and marine sanctuaries. The Bellarine has all your water activities covered.

Portarlington It’s not hard to see why Portarlington is so popular in summer, but it oozes charm any time of the year. It’s one of the bigger villages on the Bellarine. The panoramic views across Corio Bay to the west and Port Phillip Bay to the north are magnificent, and on a clear day you can see Melbourne’s skyline across the water and the sparkle of city lights at night. Over the long weekend in June, Portarlington is home to the National Celtic Festival. It is Australia’s largest and most diverse celebration of Celtic music and culture. On the second Saturday in January the town celebrates the Portarlington Mussel Festival. There are plenty of fun activities and lots of iconic produce in the region.
Local Harvest, Local Eateries A number of restaurants, cafés and bakeries line the main street. Portarlington’s reputation for fine dining is well established. It’s particularly famous for locally harvested Australian Blue Mussels, but you’ll find plenty more to stimulate the taste buds and local wines feature.
22
Get Some Fresh Air If you love fishing or just the feel of the water beneath a deck, there is plenty of boating access to the bay in this region. The shady foreshore is a delightful place to spend time, and the town has a scenic golf course where the kids can get in on the action at Port Mini Masters clinics, which run on Sunday mornings.
Heritage Mill This is one of Portarlington’s heritage landmarks, which has been fully restored by the National Trust. Built from stone quarried on-site in 1857, today it is one of the few preserved Victorian flour mills. It’s worth a visit to catch a glimpse of 19th century life. Drop in on weekends from midday to 4pm between September and May.
For the Kids
Point Lonsdale You won’t find another location on earth like Point Lonsdale. Overlooking The Rip where Port Phillip Bay meets Bass Strait, its setting is stunning. It is fascinating to watch pilot boats steer all the bay’s visiting ocean vessels as they come and go.
Discover the Beaches The front beach is tucked behind the point – the last safe bay beach on this side of Port Phillip Bay, before the heads and ocean beaches on the other side of the point. It’s a beauty – shallow rockpools that kids just love to explore, a sandy beach and gentle water – great for swimming, snorkeling or just kicking back. There’s a playground between the front beach and the main street. It’s opposite Point Lonsdale’s small shopping and café strip, so the adults can grab a coffee or cold drink while the kids burn off some steam.
Around Town The best way to get around town is on foot – everything is within easy reach. Point Lonsdale does brunch and al fresco dining as well as anywhere – there is a delightful selection of cafés and restaurants in the main shopping strip. The town has good retail services that offer just about anything you’d need to pick up while on holiday or a weekend away. For fresh fruit and vegetables drop in to Lonsdale Hydroponics on the edge of town – they do some very nice chutneys and sauces too. If you’re looking to tee off, the Lonsdale Golf Club is picturesquely located on Lake Victoria. It has 18 holes and three practice areas; the club is licensed and the locals are very welcoming.
For those who prefer ocean action, head to the surf beach.
In the warmer months the beach is the centre of activities for the kids due to the flat bay water, but when they want a break from it – or if the weather’s cool – get along to the miniature railway. It’s located in the Children’s Rotary Park and operates on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Queenscliff Queenscliff ’s charm is unique. Historically, it’s been a 19th century holiday destination for Melbourne’s elite, a busy maritime centre and a strategic defence base. Today, visitors continue to flock there throughout the year. Hesse Street is the main strip, and there’s a variety of shops of many descriptions, including antique stores, boutiques, interior shops and unique book stores. Enjoy great dining in a selection of top restaurants and cafés and mark down the last weekend in November for a musical weekend you won’t forget – the Queenscliff Music Festival.
The Harbour Don’t leave without visiting the revamped Queenscliff Harbour. Experience the 360 degree views from the 42 metre high tower, or enjoy a meal at the 360Q Restaurant. There are cafés and specialty shops – enjoy a coffee and shop with a view! To get out and amongst it all, you can book to swim with the dolphins, organise to go scuba diving or fishing. Tour the bay and learn about its history. The Queenscliff-Sorrento vehicle and passenger ferry also berths in Queenscliff Harbour.
See www.qmf.net.au for more information.
Ride the Rail
Explore the Heritage
Take a ride from Queenscliff to Drysdale and back on the vintage steam train. Travel times vary throughout the year so check the timetable at www.bpr.org.au
Queenscliff ’s collection of stately and historical buildings is impressive. Many of them are hotels, which are wonderful places to stay, dine – or both. A must-see is the signature black lighthouse, one of just three in the world – it’s located inside Fort Queenscliff. For the history buffs the Queenscliff Historical Museum and the Maritime Museum should be inclusions on the itinerary. Walking history tours around the town operate on Saturdays at 2pm. You’ll need to book at the Visitor Information Centre, or by calling 1300 884 843.
Gourmet Goods You won’t have trouble keeping the wolf from the door in Queenscliff – fine foods and local produce are readily available around town. If you enjoy your fish and chips, ask a local or enquire at the Visitor Information Centre about where to find what is reputedly the best in the world – and if coffee and cake is your thing, you’ve come to the right place.
At night between August and May, you can jump aboard the legendary Blues Train and party your way from Queenscliff to Drysdale and back being entertained by some of the country’s best blues artists. For more information, visit www.thebluestrain.com.au
Maritime Wonders The Marine Discovery Centre is well named – there’s plenty to discover here. You’ll notice the distinctive grass covered roof as you drive into Queenscliff. Inside you can check out the aquarium and touch-tank, student laboratory and classroom, and educational gift shop. The Maritime Museum is full of information about the town’s rich maritime history, including the hazards faced by shipping over many decades. There is also a restored Watson Class lifeboat on display.

Ocean Grove Ocean Grove has appealed to holiday–makers for a century or more, and it’s not hard to see why. The face of the town has changed dramatically over that time, but the reason people flock here hasn’t.
Sun, Sand and Surf Even at the busiest of times you can find an uncrowded bit of beach at Ocean Grove. It stretches for 10 kilometres from Point Lonsdale to Barwon Heads. Bring the esky, the sunscreen, some shade, buckets, spades and cricket gear, and make a day of it. It’s a beach that’ll please everyone – from beginner surfers and boogie boarders to seasoned professionals – anyone can catch a wave here. You get decent swells at times but the main beach is regarded as safe for families, and is patrolled from early summer through to Easter.
Shopping and Eating Lined by Norfolk Pines, the main street is known as The Terrace. It retains a coastal charm but offers a bustling retail precinct. There is another retail area at Market Place on Shell Road. The town dishes up a variety of possibilities when it comes to dining – from take away and al fresco to restaurants serving fine cuisine from different parts of the world. And on the subject of dining (and wining), drop in to Oakdene Vineyard and Restaurant while you’re in the area.
Natural Wonders If it’s not beach weather, or you’re looking for a different outdoor experience – explore Ocean Grove Nature Reserve off Grubb Road. It’s the Bellarine’s largest pocket of remnant vegetation, covering more than 140 hectares and home to more than 130 bird species and other fauna, including wallabies and koalas. Head out for a quiet stroll or make an afternoon of it by enjoying a barbecue or picnic while you’re there. There are other walking and cycling trails in the area too, which take in the Begola Wetlands, Kingston Park, Ocean Grove Park and Blue Waters Lake.

Barwon Heads Somehow Barwon Heads manages to retain its seaside village charm, no matter what the time of year or how many people might have landed there for the day. It’s a vibrant town, home to an artistic community, a laid-back atmosphere, and, of course, beautiful beaches.
Surrounded by Water Barwon Heads is as pretty and picturesque as any coastal spot you’ll find. Located on the mouth of the Barwon River, where people of all ages love to paddle, play, fish and relax. At the top of town, the bluff offers magical views back to Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale.
Passing the Time There’s plenty here to keep everyone amused – golf, fishing, swimming and eating out. People love to sip and shop in Barwon Heads. Hitchcock Avenue’s café culture rivals the quality of Melbourne’s best, but with an outlook and atmosphere you won’t find anywhere in a capital city. There are restaurants with reputations that spread well beyond our shores. When you’re in Barwon Heads allow enough time for some well-earned retail therapy – there is an eclectic mix of retail, including surf gear, boutique clothing and homewares.
The moored fishing boats and glassy waters give the scene a touch of Van Gogh – make sure you bring the camera.
And if you’re still looking for more options to pass the time – try yoga, spa therapy, scenic flights from Barwon Heads Airport, or Warbird Air Adventures.
Try your hand at Stand Up Paddle Boarding with a relaxing cruise down the river.
Cycling around this picturesque part of the coast has long been popular – even more so since the heroic effort of Cadel Evans in the 2011 Tour de France. When he’s not travelling the world on the busy pro cycling circuit, Cadel calls Barwon Heads home. The town is something of a mecca for golfers too – with magnificent and highly reputed courses. Barwon Heads Golf Club is just behind the bluff and Thirteenth Beach Golf Links is a few kilometres out of town on the Barwon Heads Road. www.visitgeelongbellarine.com.au

Wallington, Drysdale & Clifton Springs
Annual Major Events From world-class sporting events to music, food and wine, the region hosts a diverse range of festivals, markets and events.
The rural towns of the Bellarine have a distinctive and alluring charm. This part of the Bellarine offers some great options for family fun. Adventure Park is a favourite with people of all ages – it’s got more than twenty rides and fantastic waterslides – it’s one place you certainly won’t hear that cringe-inducing catchcry from the kids of “I’m bored...” Nearby there’s more fun to be had at Bellarine Adventure Golf and A Maze ‘N’ Games. Wallington is well known for its fruit, local produce and nurseries. Make a point of visiting the Elk Horn Roadhouse on Wallington Road, for delicious local produce and fresh food, or call by for a lazy brekkie or lunch.
Drysdale is one of the oldest settlements in the region. It has a thriving shopping precinct, including supermarkets and banks. Further out of town you can visit local olive groves for sampling and purchasing, and there are some great wineries within easy reach.

WERRIBEE You don’t have to travel far to experience some of Victoria’s best natural and historical highlights. Wyndham, just 30 minutes out of Melbourne. Werribee Park Mansion and Gardens has just about everything for the discerning traveller. The rolling green lawns and carefully manicured gardens are equally majestic for garden enthusiasts and picnic lovers alike. The State Rose Garden comes alive in late spring, filling the air with the beautiful and fragrant perfume of some 5000 roses. Crowning the estate is the famous Werribee Mansion. Built in 1867, this monumental former residence is still alive with the opulence and wealth of the Victorian era. If you are understandably famished after viewing the mansion’s 60 odd rooms, the estate also houses a restaurant.

If you thought the only place you could go on safari was in Africa, think again. The Werribee Open Range Zoo is also part of this impressive precinct and delights adults and children alike with its line-up of giraffes, lions, gorillas and a whole host of fascinating creatures free to roam in natural environments. In summer find yourself drumming to a new beat with the Zoo’s popular twilight concert series, Rhythm of Africa.
Wine time? Just next door you’ll find Shadowfax Winery. Taste test award winning wines or find yourself a seat for a delicious lunch in the scenic outdoor restaurant. Just don’t forget to grab a bottle or two from the cellar door for later enjoyment. A short drive away you’ll find Point Cook and the Point Cook Coastal Park and Marine Sanctuary. The low reefs are home to some very curious sea creatures, so make sure you pack the snorkelling gear. Featuring a pretty beachside picnic area with abundant facilities, keep an eye out for migratory birds and natural wildlife. For louder, larger, man-made birds, visit the nearby RAAF museum. The birthplace of the Royal Australian Airforce and Australian Flying Corps, see military memorabilia and restored aircraft up close and personal, or go one step higher and strap yourself in for an interactive flying display in one of the museum’s many functioning aircraft.

Visitor Bushfire Safety The warmer months are the perfect time to discover Victoria. However, if you are travelling in a high risk bushfire area between November and April you need to follow these important tips to ensure your visit is safe and enjoyable. Victoria’s high risk bushfire areas are typically heavily forested, have thick bush or long, dry grass, or are coastal areas with lots of plant life.
Know the weather district Know which weather district you are visiting so that you can check the Fire Danger Rating for that district and if there are any fire restrictions.
Find out the Fire Danger Rating Fire Danger Ratings predict how a fire would behave if one started, including how difficult it would be to put out. A Code Red is the highest Fire Danger Rating (higher than an Extreme rating) and signals the worst conditions for a bush or grass fire.
Check the weather Monitor local weather forecasts. On hot, dry and windy days it’s better to visit safer places such as regional cities.
Be aware of grassfire These fires can start quickly and spread rapidly, crossing highways and travelling at speeds of more than 20km per hour.
Carry hard copy maps Electronic mapping devices or mobile phones may be affected by smoke. Make sure you carry hard copy local maps and listen to local radio.
Seek information from locals Your host or an accredited Visitor Information Centre may be able to suggest alternative holiday activities on high risk days and provide local bushfire information, including the local emergency broadcasters.
Find the local Community Information Guide Community Information Guides provide valuable local information that will help you to decide what to do on high risk days or if a fire starts. The guides have been prepared for a number of communities in Victoria that are at risk of fire, and include local maps and information on local risks. Your host or nearest accredited Visitor Information Centre may be able to provide a copy.
Avoid being in the bush on days of fire risk On days of Severe, Extreme or Code Red Fire Danger Ratings, it’s better to visit safer places such as regional cities. Most parks and forests will be closed on days with a Code Red Fire Danger Rating. Visit Parks Victoria website parks.vic.gov.au or call 13 19 63 to find out about park closures.
Plan carefully on Code Red Days
Check if there is a Total Fire Ban A Total Fire Ban sets legal restrictions on which activities can or cannot occur in a particular district for that day, including restrictions around barbecues and campfires.
If you’re staying in a high risk area and a Code Red is forecast, leaving early is always the safest option. Leave the night before or early on the day of a Code Red. Return only when it is clearly safe to do so.
For Current Bushfire Information & Warnings: • Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line on 1800 240 667 (National Relay Service 1800 555 677) • Visit cfa.vic.gov.au • Tune into the emergency broadcasters: ABC Local Radio, commercial radio, designated community radio stations and Sky News television • Download the FireReady smartphone app • Visit an accredited visitor information centre
Code Red days are rare, but when they are forecast they are very serious.

With more than ten cuts of meat to choose from, including Certified Australian Angus Beef, everybody will find something to enjoy, and if beef isn’t your thing, try some of the pork spare ribs, lamb chops, chicken breast, grilled salmon and even a vegetarian meal, all prepared in complete view from the open kitchen.
