46 Mr. Brett Cunningham Chairman of the Board Mr. Cunningham’s career in the oil and gas industry spans 24 years and includes management, negotiations, operations, investor relations, and business analysis. He has practical knowledge of developing and growing companies and has developed specialized financing concepts for large projects. Mr. Cunningham has served in executive and management positions with Shell Oil, IBM Corporation, Scholastic Inc., DaqingDenver, Inc. (a subsidiary of DPAB/China National Petroleum Corporation), Tatonka Oil and Gas, Inc., Advanced Well Control Systems, Inc., and other micro/mid-cap oil and gas companies. Mr. Cunningham holds dual undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Psychology from the Colorado College / University of Denver, a MBA, University of Denver Daniels College of Business, and is a MIB Candidate at the Shaanxi Normal University.


47 Dr. Xingjin Wang Vice Chairman, and Managing Director Dr. Wang holds a PhD degree from University of New South Wales in Petroleum Engineering. With 22 years international experience in petroleum exploration and production applications, he specializes in reservoir simulation, well test analysis, production performance analysis, well completion optimization, fracturing desing and reservoir characterization. Prior to joining Austar Gas he was General Manager (Engineering) of Arrow Energy. Dr. Wang has extensive tight sand gas, Shale Gas and CBM experience in the major basins of Australia, Russia, China, Indonesia, India and Vietnam. Dr. Wang is Honorary Professor at the China University of Geoscience, PhD supervisor at the University of New South Wales. He has been a facilitator for the SPE CBM short course. As experienced reservoir engineer, he has worked for RISC, Mosaic Oil, Sinopec and Arrow Energy. He has expertise in using FAST Well test, FAST CBM, Simedwin, and FEKET Production analysis.


48 Dr. Romero Flores Chief Scientist Dr. Flores is a scientist with AECOM Technical Services Inc. and an Expert member of Science Advisory Board for Next Fuel Inc., Mitchell (Beijing) Energy Technology Services Ltd Co. (China), Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (Denver, Colorado), Chongqing Energy Group (China), Shanxi Lanyan Coalbed Methane Group Co., Ltd (China), and Ephindo Energy (Indonesia). Dr. Flores has provided Technical Assistance projects on coal and CBM projects in Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, China, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, and South Africa, and was a Research Scientist in the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in 19752010. Dr. Flores has published over 500 papers and abstracts, and received the U.S. Department of Interior Meritorious Service Award and Distinguished Service Award, Geological Society of America Gilbert Cady Award, and University of the Philippines Distinguished Alumni Award.


49 Mr. Leon Hennessy Drilling Director With a career spanning over 15 years in the Drilling Industry Mr. Hennessy has pushed the forefront of implementing developments to Shale, Coal Bed Methane and Coal Mine Methane drilling technologies and methodologies. In the last four years Mr. Hennessy has focused on Russia & China as Vice President of China, Russia & Mongolia for the mid size private company Mitchell Group. Successfully establishing contracts with the likes Gazprom, Evraz, Sinopec & CUCBM and realizing the establishment of operations and country first milestones in Russia with Surface to Inseam drilling and under reaming completion.


50 Dr. Tim Moore Chief Explorationist Dr. Moore is currently the Director of Cipher Coal Consulting Ltd. specialising in advising on coal and coalbed methane exploration. He is also Adjunct Associated Professor at the Department of Geological Sciences, University of Canterbury, New Zealand where he has been teaching coal and petroleum courses since 1998. Most recently, Dr. Moore was on the Executive team of Arrow Energy Ltd in Australia (from 2007 to 2010). His last role with Arrow was as Country Manager for Indonesia where he oversaw the awarding of two CBM Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) as well as the first wells drilled in Indonesia for Coalbed Methane (CBM). Tim’s first role in Arrow Energy was as Vice President for Technical Services, advising, designing and implementing exploration and development programs in Vietnam, China and the beginnings of the work in Indonesia.


51 Mr. Garry Ward Technical Director Mr. Ward’s career spans 27 years in the petroleum industry, with a focus on the evaluation of oil and gas properties throughout the United States, and includes eight years in China managing the CBM assets of Far East Energy, including negotiations of the gas sales and production management contract of up to 60 wells in Shanxi Province with the Shanxi Provincial Pipeline Company. In the USA, Mr. Ward has screened over $15 billion in oil and gas properties when he was in charge of all technical evaluations and gas marketing for Floyd Oil Company, and completed 36 transactions which included the successful purchase of over USD 200 million in oil and gas properties. Mr. Ward has worked in nearly every producing basin within the United States and has developed a skill set for evaluating underperforming assets with the goal of applying new or different techniques to improve field performance. Mr. Ward has a M.S. Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston and a B.S. Petroleum Engineering from the Universtity of Missouri-Rolla.


52 Mr. Keith Reeves Managing Director, Geology and Exploration Mr. Reeves has more than 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Reeves is an expert in the areas of exploration, development and production geology in Burma, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, China, Ghana, South Africa, Botswana, Mexico, and the USA. Mr. Reeves has held positions of Eploration Manager, Chief Geoscientist, Vice-President of Exploration and Geological Manager for companies such as Windsor Energy Resources, Tatonka Oil and Gas Company, Zulu Energy and J.M. Huber Corp. and Pinnacle Gas Resources Inc., and has contributed four articles. Mr. Reeves holds a M.S. Geology from Sul Ross State University and a B.S. Geology from the University of Arkansas.


53 Mr. Paul Stroud Managing Director, Operations Mr. Stroud has more than 30 years of world-wide experience in the energy industry. and has an extensive background in onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, CBM wells, hot-water wells and high-pressure steam wells. Mr. Stroud graduated from Sacramento State College and began his career as an engineer for Shell in 1971. After a period at UNOCAL Geothermal he established a consulting business, heading up projects for OESI in Hawaii, and Caithness Corporation in Indonesia. Mr. Stroud became Project Manager for JM Huber Corporation, for Gillette, and for Pinnacle Gas Resources, Inc., an active CBM company located in Sheridan, Wyoming.
