Thailand is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. There is just so much to and see that many people who visit there want to go back again. Some people decide that they want to live there permanently, such is the allure of this wonderful country. Finding work in Thailand isn't easy though The one exception however is becoming an English teacher. This is why so many people decide to teach English in Thailand. There will always be a need for foreign teachers which means that there will always be vacancies for English teachers, not just in Bangkok but in other parts of the country as well. Most people decide to stay in or around Bangkok as the pay is much higher in the capital. Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand is another popular choice for English teachers. Although the pay not be as much, the cost of living is a lot lower which means that if you prefer the quiet life, this could be the place for you. Others prefer to head to the beach resorts in the south. Koh Samui and Phuket are two popular beach destinations but just like anywhere in Thailand, there is a need for native English speakers to teach Enlglish in schools and in businesses. If you want to live in Thailand then teaching English is definitely an option for you. Even if you've never taught before and have no teaching experience, you can take a TEFL course which will teach you the ins and outs of teaching English as a foreign language. If you are a native speaker then you already speak English perfectly which mean all you have to do is learn how to explain it the students. It may seem daunting if you've never done it before but it really is fun and rewarding. You can live in Thailand very comfortably on a teachers salary no matter which part of the country you decide to stay in. Living overseas in a country like Thailand is an amazing experience for anyone. Plus, once you have your teaching certificate and some experience you'll be able to travel and teach anywhere in the world. Thailand is the ideal place to start though, There are a few places in Bangkok that offer TEFL courses or you could even get your TEFL certificate by doing an online course which is what many people decide to do.
