Year 9 Assessment Buddhism

The symbol of Buddhism represents much of what Buddhist faith is about (Explain what the symbol of Buddhism looks like and why it symbolises their belief about life and death. POSSIBLY TWO SYMBOLS? (Grade F)

Buddhists believe that the way they live their everyday life has an effect on how their soul develops. (Describe some of the everyday guidelines that Buddhists follow in order to live a better life. How do these have an effect on the people around them? (Grade E) Buddhists believe that your actions in this life can have a knock on effect in your next. (What do Buddhist’s believe about life after death? What do they call it? How does it work? Describe and explain how certain actions can influence your next lifetime. (Level D) Buddhism has certain similarities and differences with the Christian faith when it comes to the issue of behaviour and life after death. (Think about how Buddhism and Christianity are similar/different. What do they believe about life after death? What do they believe about laws and the way you should live?) (Grade C-B) The beliefs of a Buddhist can have serious consequence when considering moral issues. (Describe and explain how Buddhist beliefs could influence their view on moral issue. Explain how a Buddhist could find some of their moral precepts questioned by such issues. – Use you knowledge and common sense. How would a Buddhist feel about; Abortion Murder Robbery (Grade A)
