GIRL Scout Workshops
JAN-MAY
2014
Discovery World is excited to continue to offer workshops that are based on Girl Scout Badges and Leadership Journeys. We’ll also continue to bring some of our badge workshops to you. You provide the space, and we’ll bring the expert, experiments, and materials needed to take care of your next meeting.
Discovery World admission is included in the price of a Girl Scout Workshop. Parents/ guardians are welcome to watch the Workshop free of charge but are not required to stay. If Girl Scout family members would like to explore Discovery World the day of the Workshop (when Discovery World is open to the public), prices for admission are $12 for an adult and $8 for a child. Please mention the discount code SCT01 when purchasing admission tickets at the Admissions Booth. The museum and café are not open during weeknight evening badges – please see www.discoveryworld.org for hours and museum information. For questions about Workshop content and activities, or to set up your own private Workshop, please call the Scout Coordinator at 414.274.4208. A minimum of 10 participants is required for a private Workshop.

Girl Scout Journeys Discovery World recognizes that Girl Scout Leadership Journeys are very important to a Girl Scout’s voyage. Because of this, we would like to help you and your troop Discover, Connect, and Take Action for all three Leadership Journey series: It’s Your World – Change It!, It’s Your Planet – Love It!, and It’s Your Story – Tell It! Discovery World can help augment each of your Leadership Journeys by providing hands-on, guided educational experiences. We can also connect you with local experts, special labs and experiences, and equipment and materials. Don’t forget that Discovery World specializes in education involving fresh water, science, technology, design, fashion, graphic arts, and innovation. For each of the three Leadership Journeys, Discovery World is capable of working with troops or individual girls at the Girl Scout Brownie - Girl Scout Ambassador levels. All you have to do is call us today and let us know how you’d like us to work with you. We can’t wait to hear from you!
Please call the Scout Coordinator at 414.274.4208 to begin your Leadership Journey!
Here’s how it works: Pick one of the Badge Workshops below and give us a call to set up a date and time that work for your troop. All that we ask is that you have at least 10 Girl Scouts, a working space for each Girl Scout (tables and chairs), and one chaperone for every ten participants. Troop leaders can sit back and relax because Discovery World’s Girl Scout Educators will bring all necessary supplies and materials needed to complete all requirements. This is a great option for troops that would like to substitute a Badge Workshop for their regular meeting time. Please call the Girl Scout Coordinator at 414.274.4208 to set up your customized experience!
* Please note there is a $.50 mileage fee. The Discovery World Scout Team will only travel within a 30-minute radius of Discovery World.
