Dear Friends, Tonight’s House Party! celebration brings our extraordinary community together for more than luck and laughter. As we Shake our Shamrocks with friends and loved ones, your generous participation allows Ronald McDonald House to keep more families close and begin a new chapter of comprehensive family care. Last spring, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford reopened our 56-room legacy building and began full operations of our 123-room campus. Over the past year, our expanded House provided 29,000 nights of accommodations for more than 5,000 parents and children in need. Behind these numbers lies hundreds of invaluable relationships and a supportive community that helps families cope with their children’s medical crises. Parents find comfort in shared experiences, children learn and play with peers who understand their unique challenges, and families find space to rest and heal together. Now, we look to an exciting future of enhanced family care, joining our local affiliated Ronald McDonald House entities to reach more families accessing treatment at partner hospitals across our region. The newly established Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area will rely on our incredible community’s support to offer families a sense of normalcy and security through our Stanford House, 11-bedroom House inside UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay, and two Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles. Your support has been vital to our recent growth and we look forward to sharing this new journey with you. Thank you for your partnership, compassion and vision for our efforts to keep families close. With heartfelt gratitude,

Annette Eros Chief Executive Officer Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area

Headliner

Actor and Comedian

Kevin Nealon Kevin Nealon sets himself apart from other comedic performers with his unique sense of humor, dry wit and likable demeanor. Nealon is best known for his nine-year stint as a cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL), and has received critical acclaim for his role in the Showtime series Weeds. Kevin is currently seen as one of the stars on the CBS comedy series Man With A Plan. Kevin’s film credits include: Just Go with It, Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star, And They’re Off, Anger Management, Blended, Eight Crazy Nights, The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Daddy Day Care, Good Boy, Roxanne, Grandma’s Boy, Aliens in the Attic, and Remarkable Power. A sought-after guest star on television, Kevin has made a number of appearances on Hot In Cleveland, Franklin & Bash, Monk, Fat Actress, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Still Standing. As one of the longest-running SNL cast members (1986-1995), Nealon created some of the show’s most memorable characters, including ‘The Subliminal Man’ and ‘Hans and Franz.’ Nealon’s reoccurring role as an anchor on ‘Weekend Update’ helped make the sketch a show staple. In 1988 Kevin earned an Emmy Award nomination as part of the SNL writing team. In late 2009, Nealon’s first one hour stand up special, “Kevin Nealon: Now Hear Me Out!” aired on Showtime to rave reviews. Nealon’s second standup special for Showtime, “Whelmed…But Not Overly,” debuted in August 2012. In 2008, Nealon released his first book, Yes, You’re Pregnant, But What About Me? - a comical look at the male perspective of pregnancy. The book is available in bookstores. Kevin resides in Los Angeles with his wife and son.

How to build the best children’s hospital in the world

Disrupt what it feels like to be in a hospital. 3.5 acres of gardens and open space. A floor-to-ceiling interactive wall of educational games. Patient rooms designed for the whole family. And local animal sculptures, artwork and photographs usually found in a natural history museum, not a hospital. Just a few of the ways we’ve reimagined the experience for patients and their families.
