Spirituality/Personal Growth

“God says, ‘I am going to do something new: something new with your life; something new with your health; something new with your family; something new with your dreams.’ ” — from Chapter Three of Holding on to Hope

Have you come through a dark time? Depression, burn-out, financial disaster, death of a family member, or emotional chaos come to us all. We get through, but we want something beyond mere survival. We feel, somehow, there must be something more. This book is about the something more. This book is about the unexpected, refreshingly, surprisingly new things God wants to do for you. Each chapter follows a journey that includes: • Stories and images • Scripture reflection • Questions for personal or small group use • Contemplative experiences • Healing exercises

Kathryn James Hermes, FSP, is the author of Surviving Depression, Making Peace with Yourself, and St. Joseph: Help in Life’s Emergencies. A member of the Daughters of St. Paul, she has an M.T.S. from Weston Jesuit School of Theology and an advanced certificate in Scripture. Besides her work for the Pauline Book & Media Centers and in digital publishing, she is a spiritual companion and gives numerous presentations throughout the country. She lives in Massachusetts. Helene Cote, PM, MTS, is a sister of the Presentation of Mary. She studied spirituality at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and at Weston Jesuit School of Theology. Presently, she works as a staff member at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center in Biddeford, Maine, and at Berakah, in Pittsfield, NH, a center that offers renewal programs for women. She is a spiritual director, an inner healing provider, and a presenter for retreats and workshops.
