Spirituality/Scripture/Lectio The Scriptures are our daily bread: broken and shared, they nourish our faith-life and enliven our souls. The ancient tradition of lectio divina or “sacred reading,” practiced by individuals and groups today, is once more anchoring the Church to the Word and enriching personal spirituality. Praise for this long-awaited volume, John: The Word of Light: “Elena Bosetti offers us a fresh and refreshing reading of the Fourth Gospel. Informed by critical scholarship and employing the method of lectio divina, her book provides us with a way to read the Gospel that is exegetically sound and spiritually nourishing. This small volume will enable its readers to develop a truly biblical spirituality.” — Frank J. Matera, Professor of New Testament, The Catholic University of America
“The recent Synod on the Word of God insisted on the reading and praying of the Holy Scriptures. Sister Elena Bosetti has a long experience with lectio divina, which she shares with us in this book.” — Frédéric Manns, OFM, Professor of New Testament and Ancient Jewish Literature, Studium Biblicum of Jerusalem
“Sister Elena Bosetti’s work is the fruit of both fine scholarship and a living relationship with the Word himself, Jesus Christ. What a marvelous combination!” — Paul Helfrich, BH, Catholic Chaplain, Boston University
