StartForgiving.com Step Ten: Journey’s End Our journey’s destination is forgiveness. But how do we know if we’ve arrived? Our thoughts, actions, and feelings will tell us if we’re getting closer. It may be that our journey of forgiveness will not be complete until our life’s journey is complete. It’s good to imagine that day, however, and consider the choices we must make to be the type of person we’ll want to be when we meet Jesus face-to-face. Until then, we can hope that our final end, and the final end of the one who hurt us, will be one and the same. That’s what Jesus wants, and so should we.

We get back from others and from the world exactly what we expect to find or to receive. In order to feel an inner shift in your journey of forgiveness, you may find this exercise helpful. 1. Write on the lines below in one sentence the event or person whom you are asking the grace from God to forgive. _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ 2. Read over your loss letter which you wrote in Step Four. Write each of your losses on the bold/longer lines below. (For example, perhaps because of the event or person’s behavior you feel you lost your good name, opportunities for education, the capacity for relationships, your teenage years, etc.)
