adam spalding Since your last fight at BCMMA you've tried your hand at boxing. Is this something you've been wanting to do for a while and another way of improving your all around mma game? Yes it was something that I had thought about for a little while. Furthermore the boxing club I train at (Suffolk Punch Boxing Club) were very keen to try and get me to try my hand at boxing. It’s not something I’m going to do all the time but it was certainly something I wanted to have ticked off the list before it’s all said and done. It was a very useful experience and something I can take with me as I move on. You're back in the cage this time out against Sigmund Hollerud. What do you know about your opponent and how do you see the fight going tonight? I know he is from a well established gym in Frontline MMA in Norway. I know his strong suit is his BJJ, that’s where he wants to take the fight. In previous fights I’ve shown that I’m not easy to take down in MMA and if I do get taken down I can get quick or submit them. In addition the striking fundamentals are in my advantage for this fight. We're getting close to the end of the year now, looking back on 2017 how would you say the year has gone for you and what are your plans looking ahead to 2018 in mma? In terms of improvement, this year has been a great year. Although some results haven’t gone my way. I know and people around me know that I am a much improved fighter than what I was 12 months ago. I can’t wait to put it all on display tonight. With regards to next year, I have a trip scheduled to Thailand at the end of March, so I’d like to get a fight in start of the year before the trip. You've followed a similar path to that of Arnold Allen in the teams you train at and coaches you have. Does seeing the heights he has achieved give you extra confidence that you can push on and achieve something similar? Or do you take it one fight at a time and are not looking down the line? Of course you’re going to take inspiration from what Arnold’s achieved so far but I’m on a very different path to him. I’m older & started MMA a lot later in life than Arnold. I just try and focus on giving it my best each time and see how I progress. Do you have any messages for your fans in attendance tonight? Have a great night. There’s going to be some brilliant fights on the card and I’m certainly aiming to be one of them. I’d also like to dedicate this fight to John Findlay, a mate of mine and a close friend to my brother, who sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago. John was a great guy and had attended previous BCMMA events. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

It's been nine months since your last fight, looking back on that night now what are your thoughts on the fight and the result? I'm really happy with my performance on cagewarriors 81, it was a big step up for me against such a highly ranked opponent, l feel I put on a great show and was unlucky with the decision, but learnt a lot from it. I would say it was arguably your best performance on the biggest stage you've fought. Did fighting in a big arena on the tv give you a massive confidence boost? It was an amazing experience and I had a fantastic time in Dublin. With regards to it being a big arena and on tv - to be honest it didn't feel any different to any other show. Since that night you've moved to Wales and started training at a new camp. How have you settled in there? The move to Wales came a bit closer to my fight than originally planned, but fortunately where I already knew some of the fighters from Tillery combat and have trained there before - I was able to jump straight in to a full fight camp. In addition to this I've also managed to fit in lots of extra classes through the day - as I took this camp off work to focus on the fight. What do you know about your opponent and how do you expect the fight to go? Samantha Jean-Francois has fought on BCMMA before against one of my previous opponents, I know she's a tough girl and well rounded -so I expect this to be a very exciting, high paced, fight. Do you have any messages for the fans ahead of the fight?

Firstly, it's been nearly 6 months since your last fight. What have you been working on since that fight? Hey guys, yea seems a while doesn't it.. just had some time off over the summer to work on all aspects of my game. Really looking forward to showing that off, this is James Webb 2.0. That night you lost a close decision to Miro Jurkovic, how did you think the fight went and have you watched it back since? If so how'd you score it? Watched it back a few times certainly, my coaches watched it more. Had to work on certain things like I said which will be all improved and shown Saturday. I think that decision was the right one tho, I didn't deserve the win, here at SBG Swords it's all about finishing fights, we consider a decision a draw. Your back at BCMMA tonight, fighting Henrik Lie who you have already fought in an amateur fight only a year ago. How have you prepared for this fight and how has that changed from when you first fought him? I've prepared more than ever. Believe that. We have worked very closely with the Irish Strength Institute to make sure every aspect is covered from blood glucose management, to smashing my conditioning. Alongside the high level training I'm getting at SBG Swords. We have recently seen photos of you training with Cathal Pendred and we know you train regularly with the likes of Chris Fields. How do you find training with some of europes greatest middleweights prepares you for the fight? I find it hell, but iron sharpens iron right. Chris in my opinion is one of the best light heavyweights in the world right now. So I soak up training with him, and the same with Cathal and Philip Mulpeter, I rack these guys brains to help my own game. These guys have been around the block, fighting pro before I even was training. It's surreal to watching these guys fight a few years back to now being part of the team. Truly grateful to Chris Fields and Tom King for that, and my first BJJ coach Alain Pozo for telling me to go train over there. You always bring a massive crowd and I am sure tonight will be no different. Would you like to say anything to them ahead of the fight tonight? I want to say thank you to everyone here for me tonight, can't tell you enough how much I appreciate it. I'm going out there tonight for Amy (pictured left), who sadly lost her life. This win is for her, my team, family and friends. I want to just thank my family and girlfriend for the support whilst being away so much. Thank you to the ISI and Cafe Provence for building and fuelling me. Let's go..

jack eglin We're coming to the end of 2017, how would you say it has been for you both inside and outside the cage? It’s not been the best year inside the cage obviously losing twice but I feel like they have both made me become a much stronger person mentally and physically so I don’t see them as loses and outside the cage it’s been an awesome year I’ve learned loads and grew as a fighter massively.

Last time out you took on Mokaev in a short notice fight. Looking back on that fight what are your thoughts on the stoppage and would you do anything different if you got the chance to fight him again?

You're back on BCMMA tonight, where do you think BCMMA ranks amongst other shows in the UK? It’s deffenitely without a doubt one of the best shows I’ve fought on and I think it’s deffenitely up there with some of the best in the country with out a doubt. Tonight you are facing off against Ciaran Mulholland, what do you know about him and how do you see the fight going tonight? He’s a tough durable guy who comes to fight every time but he’s not on my level in any department I think I’m better everywhere and I can see the fight going with me getting my hands raised at the end of it. You signed up to the 8 man amateur flyweight tournament at BCMMA in April '18. How excited are you for this tournament and have you changed your training to prepare for this already? I’m very excited for it it’s going to be an awesome night and some great fights on it and I haven’t changed it yet because I’m focused just on the fight at hand at the minute with Ciaran but I will be going out to America to prepare for it

bcmma & cage warriors

I think the stoppage was deffenitely early but I can’t go back in it the ref done what he thought was right at the time and no I think the way I approached the fight and the way I felt in the fight I know I can beat him with the game plan I had.

Finally do you have any messages for the fans here tonight? Expect a great fight with me getting my hands raised at the end of it.
