"One Championship remains committed to providing martial arts athletes on the regional scene a platform to showcase their talents, and to potentially earn a US$100,000 contract to compete in One Championship's international events." MTGP UK CEO Philip Tieu said: "I'm proud to announce our partnership with One Championship. MTGP will team up with One Championship to create the Road To One UK tournaments, where the best athletes in the UK can showcase their skills for an opportunity to win a six-figure contract with One Championship. This is a long-term relationship, which will elevate the UK fight scene and grow the sport of Muay Thai in a way we never thought was possible.

"I truly believe the two companies are a perfect match and that by working with Chatri Sityodtong, it will only expand the sport of Muay Thai even further and take it to new heights." Andy Howson went on to say; We're so excited about this partnership with Chatri and One Championship. Now I’m retired and can no longer fight for the company, to be able to still be involved with the One family and to help bring One to the UK alongside the guys at MTGP is amazing. Hat off to Phil for being able to sort something like this, it’s truly a game changer for the UK Muay Thai, K1 & MMA fighters. We already have some amazing talent here in the UK and I think this announcement is only going to push out fighters to be even better in hope of been signed.

ROAD TO ONE Championship Tournament, the UK’s first ever! At last we can finally reveal the 8 fighters who will be taking part in the UK’s first ever Road To One Championship the tournament. We were hoping to have all 8 athletes on our huge August 6th show at Bolton Arena, however due to various injuries this won’t be the case. Fear not we have come up with a solution! The first round will be fought as two separate 4 men completions with the first taking place on our August card featuring our current MTGP World Champion, Irishman CRAIG COAKLEY who will be taking on the hungry and dangerous Swedish man KIM FALK. Coakley fresh from a big win against Panicos and having shared the ring with legends such as Singdam and Rafi will have his eyes firmly on the final. Whilst his opponent Falk comes with an incredible KO/Stoppage ratio, holding KO wins over current WBC world champion Nathan Bendon and the skilled Shane Farquharson. On the opposite side we see South End Combat Academy’s NATTY DODDS taking on 2 Technical owner and head coach PAUL KARPOWICZ. Will Paul’s slightly unorthodox style put of the traditional Thai Style of Natty? Or will the Thai purist prevail in the 4oz gloves?! The Second 4 man will take place on @wajshafique's big October MTGP card where you will get to see some serious talent in action! The rematch from Yokkao a few years back, NATHAN BENDON takes on JACK KENNEDY. With Nathan taking the first fight on short notice & having a very strong first couple of rounds, Jack weathered the storm to pick up the win. Under this rule set 3x3’s in the MMA gloves this is anyone's fight!

ROAD TO ONE 8 MAN TOURNAMENT And our final two fighters we see the long awaited return to the Thai Boxing scene for GEORGE MOUZAKITIS (Greece) who will be taking on Scotland's BRIAN TOTTY. Both guys have a wealth of experience and great technicians of the game, with George’s move to MMA in the last few years he will no doubt be feeling confident in the smaller gloves but can he put wit and out skill the tough and durable experienced Scotsman?
