THE COMPANY
History Back in 1994 George Stead ran a successful Estate Agency network in South West London. Dismayed at the lack of choice of residential software that was available at the time, George commissioned the development of a bespoke software application to meet the needs of his business. Encouraged by the excellent feedback from his staff and sensing a wider opportunity the estate agency business was sold to FPD Savills, the software was retained by George and Reapit was founded. John D Wood, Carter Jonas and Knight Frank were among the early adopters, recognising the benefits of using an application designed by a successful Estate Agent. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, developing an impressive client list, ranging from family run independent firms to national corporate companies.

The awards ceremony was the culminating event of a rigorous and thorough judging process carried out by a panel of industry experts, who assessed initial entry submissions before conducting an extensive review of the entrants including hundreds of telephone interviews and mystery shopping exercises. The whole judging process was overseen by The Property Ombudsman, Christopher Hamer. Reapit, winners of Supplier of the Year, were delighted to receive the gold award for the second year in a row. An extract from the judges’ report reads “The team at Reapit proved without a doubt that they are indeed a gold standard supplier by consolidating last year’s gold award with a repeat win this year. They take a consultative approach to really understand what their customers want, and the fact that many of the team worked in estate agency results in real comprehension of what is required, and how this can best be implemented.”
Peter Knight, Chairman of the event organisers Estate Agency Events, commented “Reapit should be justly proud to be the first to ever win the gold award for Best Supplier two years running. Reapit are the only software supplier in the UK who takes a proactive approach to adapting the software to fit around the client’s needs. Right from the initial sales consultation process, through the implementation phase onto the on-going account management, their staff take the time to understand what makes each client unique and then customise the program accordingly. This is in stark contrast to the rest of the estate agency software suppliers who adopt a “one size fits all” approach, with at best, the ability to change a few drop down fields in the software.

The product itself is a single database with customisable modules for residential sales, lettings, commercial, agricultural, land & new homes and auctions. The property management and client account module was the final part of the jigsaw, which completes a truly one stop application for all disciplines within an agency. Reapit have developed an impressive suite of business generation tools, from canvassing and touting modules through to creating extra referrals for additional income streams like conveyancing, removals, financial services and the like.
The support for RPS clients is also unrivalled, with an industry leading 99.4% of all helpdesk calls answered before falling over to voicemail. No call waiting, no prioritisation of sales calls over their client’s needs. Reapit even have 2 full time staff employed to monitor their clients’ feeds through to the various portal websites.
Training Reapit is the only supplier in the industry that includes on-going complimentary training for RPS clients. This is not just during the initial implementation phase, but crucially on an on-going basis, with each member of staff being entitled to a training session every 6 months. Training sessions are held at either the client’s premises or at one of their 4 offices located throughout the UK. The rationale is simple; to achieve the highest levels of user adoption in the industry and this can only be achieved by providing regular, free, on-site training. High user adoption rates mean better quality of management information, less support calls and a lower rate of churn for their clients. This is part of a wider philosophy of providing a service to their clients and not just software.
Account management & Business consultancy The training sits hand in hand with the on-going account management program. Each client is assigned a dedicated point of contact, an account manager, who arranges regular contact and site visits with each client. The account manager will ensure clients receive a high level of service and support and that enhancement and development requests are actioned. They will also co-ordinate the training program to fit in with the clients business objectives.
Reporting Highly accurate management information is only possible with high levels of user adoption. However, Reapit again understand that once these high levels are achieved and the data is inputted correctly that each client will want access to this data in a variety of different ways, formats and timeframes. Reapit provide each client with a suite of best in class management information reports, so for those clients who don’t want to reinvent the wheel, they can draw upon the experience Reapit has already built up serving other market leading clients. Alternatively, Reapit allow clients to access their database using IT standard reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Excel and SQL/MYSQL reports. This open source approach enables tech savvy clients to build their own reporting mechanisms, freeing them from any constraints of a software provider.
Ongoing Development With so many of the leading UK estate agency firms using Reapit software RPS has had to form an extremely rapid and agile approach to the software development. Their clients are submitting enhancement requests on a daily basis; typically this is even higher during changing market conditions. In response to these requests, Reapit have built a development team which consists of more staff than any other supplier dedicated to a single product.
