Author of Gwen John: A Life (2001) and of The Private Lives of the Impressionists (2006), Sue Roe is a biographer, poet, novelist, critic, editor and former lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. A commissioning editor for a number of years, she continues to advise publishers and is also a freelance copywriter. She was born in Leicester and has a first class degree from the University of Kent, an MA from the University of Sussex and a D.Phil from the University of Kent. She lives in Brighton.
