From the Desk of the Presiding Bishop
Bishop Theodore L. Brooks, Sr. Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
Praise the Lord and greetings in the wonderful Name of Jesus! It is our joy to send our love and greetings to you again. As you no doubt have heard, the 105th Summer Convention of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. has been cancelled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic COVID-19. This was a difficult decision for me and the Executive Bishops’ Council to make, but one that we felt was in the best interest of our global community. Though we will no longer be gathering together physically in order to preserve the health and safety of our members, we rest in the keeping, healing, saving power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We trust in the miraculous healing power of God, now more than ever. The experiences we have had as a nation, world, and international organization in the wake of COVID-19 have caused me to believe even more in the healing power of the Blood of Jesus! The Lord is our Master Healer, the Creator of our entire being, and His power to heal is unmatched. It is critical though that we do not seek the Lord’s hand more than we seek His face. As we turn toward the Lord, we must do so with the faith that He has the power to heal, and the wisdom to know that if He doesn’t, He is still good and worthy to be praised. As we seek His face, rather than His hand, we learn more about ourselves and more about the Lord. As we seek His face, we fulfill the proclamation from 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” As we seek the face of Jesus, to cultivate our relationship with Him beyond just what He will do for us, He will reveal Himself in wisdom, understanding and healing. The Lord is our Healer, our Father, our Friend. In Him we find refuge; in Him we are whole. Lady Brooks and I love you dearly. We are praying for you constantly—that you and your loved ones experience the healing power of Jesus. Be on the look-out for more information from the PAW regarding events throughout the remainder of 2020. We love you to life! The Master’s Servants, Bishop Theodore and Lady L. Janice Brooks
