01 INTERIOR- HOSTEL | STUDIO SPACE | CAFE
The Maker City Hostel is designed based around the concept of make, stay, and grow.. Set in Knoxville, TN (the maker city), this space is designed to provide a space for local artists,, the knoxville community,, and travelers to come together and experience the best aspects of the East Tennessee city. Fishbowl studios create an interactive and educational connection between the observer and artists in residency in that people visiting the space can have a first-hand view of the art which is displayed and sold in the building.. On the second floor, visitors from near and far can stay in a hostel-style, or traditional style hotel room to promote tourism and community in the re-purposed building.

Intitial sketches investigated program, stair and installation detailing, as well as the concept to layered, painted perforated glass as the p r i v a c y s c r e e n s which can be seen in the artist studios and hotel. My research, when beginning this project, involved looking at the c o n n e c t i o n b e w e e n t h e K n o x v i l l e a r t a n d h o s p i t a l i t y m a r k e t and it became clear that the demographic of people who want to become immersed in a city found preferred h o s t e l s to traditional hotels because of the culture, connection, and flexibilty. This pushed me to create multiple room types in my space.

03 INTERIOR- FASHION DESIGN STUDIO / RESIDENCE
This studio/workplace collaborative was designed for client, J a p a n e s e f a s h i o n d e s i g n e r , Issey Miyake. His Japanese heritage and ' F o l d e d ' fashion design were the main sources of inspirations throughout the design process. The top floor is a functioning design studio equipt for Miyake and his interns, and the first floor is a completely enclosed living space for Miyake. The entrance to the public second floor takes place through a folded carport which also serves as a garden. The interior renderings of the Miyake L i v e / W o r k s p a c e display the creative and unique space in which Miyake will full-time reside. The folded wood system is used to provide a p r i v a c y s c r e e n for Miyake bedroom and is folded up to separate the work and break area of the upstairs space. 14

04 INDUSTRIAL- ELECTRIC HANDMIXER
The Mega Tera Hand-mixer is an electric hand-mixer designed off of the basic forms of a B l u e W h a l e . It was developed through rigorous research and formal studies and received an award for it's complexity. The process in fabrication of the Mega Tera included clay sculpting, 3D printing, and the use of the program Rhinoceros for digital modeling and rendering. The key e r g o n o m i c factors of the machine rest in the curved shape and plastic groves of the handle which m i m i c the groves of the body of the whale. Materially, the product would be designed to sustainably reuse plastic found in the ocean in order to directly benefit the creature which it is based off of.

05 INTERIOR- CORPORATE OFFICE / CO WORKING SPACE
Within this work, the objective was to break through the steel-framed concrete walls of the existing site and create a c o - w o r k i n g / p u b l i c s p a c e that promotes a direct line between work and social life, while also merging the two in a singular site. Research in this thesis-based studio was observed through the Googleplex in California. The interior renderings of this space include natural elements colliding with the modern work experience, while also merging with the c u s t o m a c o u s t i c c e i l i n g f e a t u r e to push the existing structure out of it's orthogonal quality.
