DARA KAPLAN AND GWEN WUNDERLICH’S CRAZY FILTHY RICH IS A NEW BLUEPRINT TO HELPING WOMEN ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS

BY MELISSA PUPPO

If you feel like you’re simply existing these days but not really living up to your full potential, Dara Kaplan and Gwen Wunderlich just might have the mindset cure you need. Dubbed Crazy Filthy Rich, their new self-help platform is aimed at women who want to learn, strive, and ascend. It all grew out of Kaplan and Wunderlich’s own desires to get more out of their roles as the founders of Wunderlich Kaplan Communications (a New York– and Miami-based public relations, branding, and communications agency working with high-profile clientele like Netflix, MTV, Charlotte’s Web, and Maserati).

Kaplan and Wunderlich say their journey started a few years back when Wunderlich was turning 40 and Kaplan was going through a breakup. “I had watched the movie The Intern [in which a retiree played by Robert De Niro interns at a fashion website run by a much younger Anne Hathaway]. I said, ‘I’m about to turn 40. I can’t have on my tomb: Here lies a publicist,’” Wunderlich jokes. “I needed to be more.”

An empathetic Kaplan felt that she, too, was ready for growth.

Inspired, they pair launched The Enternship to help middle-aged women get back into the workforce. The idea was simple: Instead of hiring college interns with little experience to work at their firm, Kaplan and Wunderlich decided instead to seek out a group of women with life and career experience who simply needed some updated skills in order to re-enter the workforce or make a career change.

Kaplan and Wunderlich followed the success of The Enternship with their Pretty Electric podcast, where they touch upon everything from female entrepreneurship to career advice to personal stories based on the pair’s 20-plus years in the biz.

Now, they’re launching Crazy Filthy Rich, a series of five-week programs centered around group Zooms, one-on-one mentoring, journaling, and more—all aimed at helping women boost their confidence and let go of fears (which the duo reports is what holds most women back from achieving their goals).

To date, Crazy Filthy Rich has garnered more than 6,000 female followers worldwide. Programs include The Reset (tools and strategies needed to readjust your life), The Blueprint (strategically build your own customized roadmap of goals), The Side Hustle (increase your income and find your passion), and The Art of Reinvention (redefining and reinventing who you are).

“Gwen and I both love to help women,” shares Kaplan. “We know how to create a plan for success, which is an easily transferable skill.”

In-person events are now in the works. Kaplan and Wunderlich recently launched a September retreat in the Magic City centered around three action-packed days of mingling and motivational programming.

“There is nothing more powerful than a group of women who all are on the same types of journeys and are there to uplift and inspire,” says Wunderlich.

The duo plans to host an international retreat sometime in 2023 in order to bring even more likeminded women together to share and network. “It absolutely lights me up to be able to help women step into an evolved, happier, and more successful version of themselves,” says Kaplan. “It is so rewarding.” (crazyfilthyrich.com) «
