Can you believe it is August already?

Throughout the first part of this year it has been a lot of fun attending our region’s monthly and scheduled events and meeting and socializing with you all. The Social Committee has a group of dedicated volunteers to make these events happen and it is great seeing everyone having a good time together. Imagine that on a statewide level which was experienced at Zonefest in May. Then there is the extended PCA family that comes from all around North America to the Porsche Parade that was in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania in June. Read more about Parade in this issue. These events are also run by dedicated volunteers. There is no question why the PCA tag line is “it’s not just the cars… it’s the People”. Now as we countdown the days to the highly anticipated Escape to the Cape on August 20th, we will once again get together with our extended family from around Zone 12 to socialize and enjoy our amazing Porsches.

Attending Escape to the Cape? Watch your email inbox for upcoming announcements and if you would like to volunteer, please contact me at socials@goldcoastregion.org.

At the time of this writing, we held the Summer Wine Tasting on July 13th at Union Kitchen & Bar in Wilton Manors attended by around 40 members and organized by Kevin Jones. On July 30th there are around 30 members signed up to throw some axes at Game of Axes in Boca Raton organized by Rick Veingrad (who at the same time, has been organizing the Escape to the Cape).

The social committee is working on events for the fall and the Board of Directors is moving forward with plans presented by the holiday party planning committee for our 2022 holiday party. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about these events via emails from Ian Gerada via “enews”. You can also check the calendar on the GCR website at goldcoastregion. org/calendar and on clubregistration.net for events and updates.
