It is Porsche party time!

Each year around the beginning of summer, the PCA community gathers in zone and national events to celebrate with social and competitive activities. In this issue we focus on the Zone 12 activities from Zonefest that took place in Melbourne, Florida at the end of May. Gold Coast was well represented and our members placed well in autocross and concours. GCR members do well in these specific disciplines from our solid programs at the club level. Additionally, check out the beautiful 356 on our cover taken at Zonefest, and don’t miss the interesting back story on the history of its color. Next month, the results from our national Parade will be published. We expect that a few of our members brought back some well earned awards and a few stories to share. Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of Gold Coast Region. As a preparation for the anniversary in 2023 we have included a review of our club history written by Mike Joffee and Steve Kidd, GCR Historians. Contributions were also made by Stan Pearlman and Lee Wood. As we approach that special celebration, we will hold events featuring speakers who will review some of our great history. Our members created this club and our history, a story that is uniquely ours. The Finding Gold article spotlights Ken Fengler, a GCR Past President who helped to develop many of our programs such, as Drivers Education and the 48 Hours of Sebring club race. Thinking of DE,we have included a few DE dates on our calendar regarding DE at Sebring hosted by our friends at Suncoast Region. You may also wish to check our a short article to update the status of the GCR DE program.

As you venture off on your summer vacation, please remember that the Kassette is always looking for Porsche adventure articles along with the photographs that help tell the story. The text should be one page or less and the photos should be high resolution. Beyond member submitted article we are looking for fresh suggestions of articles that you would like to see, and member suggested TECH articles for Pedro to develop. This is your club magazine, so send us your ideas for new content.

I hope you enjoy your summer, Roger
