Over the last few months, the Board has been engaged to revive our Drivers Education Program and to revitalize our Concours programs. I am pleased to announce that we have scheduled a Driver’s Education session at the Homestead Raceway in Miami on September 16, 2023.

This is the first DE that we have been able to put together in two years. There were two primary reasons we could not get the program going: the first being COVID and the general shutdown that it caused and the second was Volunteers that were needed to run the event. A Drivers education on-track session requires that each participant or student be paired with an experienced instructor. Unfortunately, since we had no program, we lost contact with our stock of instructors. We are now putting out an appeal to our region membership that if you are or have been a PCA Drivers Education Instructor please contact me at polliviere@gmail.com. Those that can function as instructors will be awarded a golf shirt and free track time.

The next item is our summer Concours event. We are committed to having a full concours, on or close to Veterans Day in November . This event will be judged with the entries divided by class. We will require the assistance of several volunteer judges to help in judging, and ground managers to park cars by class. The important thing is that the event is held, and our membership has a venue that allows them to show their cars in the best setting possible.
