Football season has begun, schools are back in session, and it seems like all signs lead to the fall season except our wonderful warm South Florida weather. At the time of this writing, I am looking forward to the Rock, Blues, & Brews event at the Black Flamingo Brewery organized by Mike Del Pozo and then the North Carolina trip organized by Ed Blair. Maybe we will feel some of fall-ish weather in the mountains at the Topoco Lodge and on the Tail of the Dragon.
In September, the board of directors and committee chairs welcomed our new members at the new member picnic in Tradewinds Park. It was nice to have at the opportunity to welcome everyone to our region and talk about what we have to offer. Thank you to our Membership Chair, Ian Gerada, for putting this event together.
The popular Oktoberfest event will take place on October 8th at the Biergarten in Boca Raton. This year it will be back in full swing with a pig roast and some fun Oktoberfest games. RSVP is open for that on clubregistration.net. There are more events in the works for October and November, so stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
This is also the time of year when our attention begins to turn to the holidays. December 3rd brings our Holiday in Paradise Holiday party at Margaritaville in Hollywood. More information will be coming out about that soon.
In 2023, Gold Coast Region will be celebrating its 60th anniversary. The anniversary committee is at work planning a number of events to take place throughout the year, marking this milestone. We are looking for a great 60th anniversary tagline and are holding a contest where the winner will receive $75.00 on clubregistration.net to go towards a future event. More information about the contest is in an ad in this issue.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about these events via emails from Ian Gerada via “enews.” You can also check the calendar on the GCR website at goldcoastregion.org/calendar and on clubregistration.net for events and updates.
