Well, my friends the “Escape to the Cape” event has passed into the books as another great event put on by the members of Gold Coast Region. The amount of anticipation that surrounded the event was unbelievable, but as it turned out, well justified. By the time you read this you would already have seen the articles both in the Kassette and online on the Club website. So, I won’t go over the same grounds that those sources have covered, I just want to touch on a couple of facts. I believe the final registration for the event was close to 370 people. With about 140 Porsches on property. Over 220 people attended the banquet and the raffle generated over $8,000 dollars for charity. The car show was a big success with all types of Porsches being shown. From my prospective the most important thing I noticed that we had very few issues pop up to spoil the fun. Everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves and would be willing to do it again.

I do have to give a special thank thus the amount of time available to them to relax was less. I would like to express a thank you from the Board of Directors to all those heroes.

I’ll announce now, that next years Escape will be bigger and better. First it will grow to a Friday to Sunday event. We had almost 100 members come in on Friday even through that was not officially part of Escape. By increasing the event to officially three days allows us to better arrange the existing events and add new ones. Making a better event for everyone. Here’s to a bigger and better Escape next year.

As we move towards the end of the year it also signals the end of the current Board of Directors. It is imperative that when your ballet arrives that you vote and return it as soon as possible. This club relies on the dedication of those that choose to step up into leadership positions to give of their time and energy to chart the club’s direction. By voting you make your feelings known and drive the direction of your Club.

I have had the honor of being President for the last two years and would like to think I have had some influence in the resurgent’s of the region during and after the effects of Covid. Yes, I am running for reelection, but that’s not the point of this message. We have a great slate of candidates that are running for a position on the Executive Board or as a director. You will find their biographical information in the Kassette and online. Please take the time to look over the information as you form your choices.

I’m told that the T-shirt has become a collector’s item. None the less, a lot of responsibility for the success of the events fell on the shoulders of those that volunteered to help and
