2016 White Glove Concours The upcoming 46th Annual White Glove Concours will be held Saturday, June 18th, at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. Due to drought conditions at Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point, we had to find a new location for this year’s event. The excellent people at Fountain Valley have given permission for the Orange Coast Region to use this wonderful and centrally located venue for 2016. Online registration will open on April 15th through www.motorsportreg.com. The Concours team is under the direction of Concours Director, Norm Follis. This year’s core team consists of Field Marshal, Paul Wilkinson, Mark

Wallace, Gloria Moore, Susan Novotne, and Carolyn Follis. There will be live music, a picnic display contest, and of course, booths from our supporters and advertisers. Circle and Walter’s Porsche will once again be our primary sponsors, and they are sure to have the latest models by Porsche on display for viewing. We encourage everyone to enter their car in preferably a “judged class” or at least a “display” class to maximize their enjoyment of the day. There are different divisions for you to consider which can be researched at: www.zone8.org. We expect over 175 Porsches on the field, so it will be

an opportunity to see many beautiful cars, and practically every model that Porsche makes, or has made, to be available for your inspection. There will be a Marine Color Guard to kick off with the National Anthem at 9:00AM. Mayor Cheryl Brothers will also be in attendance during Opening Ceremonies. This is one of the most enjoyable “family” days of the year for the Orange Coast Region, so please plan on attending and joining us for a wonderful day of Porsches and sun! May We Have Your Attention?

It is May, and that is somewhat difficult to believe. By this time, I am no longer putting “2015” into the year box on any form I fill out. Although, it will occasionally pop out of nowhere that I’m filling out something and put “2105” down and go “duh”. Has this ever happened to you? But, to be sure, we are in May and here we are merrily rolling along to the tune of a flat six, or V8, or V6, or……flat four? I would love to hear from members that are taking the plunge this year into the new Porsche model line up. Please write to us and share your story about the car, the purchase, your driving impressions, or whatever you would like to share. I am, and I am sure many others are, interested in this particular year as Porsche unleashes several new models and new motors to the public. Tell us about it. Your editor commands, obey!

So Just Exactly How Do We Fit In?

Every so often I like to write in my editorial about the overall position of our dear old “Orange Coast Region” (OCR), the Porsche Club of America (PCA) in general, and how it all fits together. I do this so that all of you can

It was some time ago that Orange Coast Region celebrated its 50th year. We were founded in 1961. It is worth noting that Porsche made only the “bathtub” 356 in those days, so everyone pretty much drove the same model if they had a Porsche. Or, at least, a slight derivation from the same model. As a club, we are chartered under the umbrella organization of the Porsche Club of America. The Porsche Club of America traces its founding to 1955 on the east coast. By January of the following year, there were about 190 members. There are now 107,000 or so members. More important to us however, is that there are 140 regions in the PCA. Our Orange Coast is one such region. These regions are grouped into 13 Zones. OCR is in Zone 8. Coincidentally, there are 13 other regions within our zone. These range from the Central Coast of California, to Southern Arizona, and eastward to include Las Vegas. While all of the regions within our zone may have slightly different bylaws and charters, they are roughly the same in activity and focus. It may not be fully appreciated that there are awards for participating and placing in various events across Zone 8; as well as, of course, the award given for the region in which said event is held. So, typically there are special yearly “zone” events to which other region members come to try to garner zone wide points. When you join the Porsche Club, you are asked to select a region preference, although this by no means restricts your activities or ability to participate in other regions or zones. I have never

been made to feel unwelcome at any other zone or region events. In fact, it is my experience of the mention that you are from another region opens doors to conversations about your own club and gives one common ground for easy friendship and conversation. The PCA national office is in Maryland, and it has been on the east coast since its inception in the 1950’s. The national magazine is the “Panorama”, and if you are a member you’ve been receiving copies of “Panorama” automatically with your membership. The PCA website is: pca.org. This is where you should go to check your personal information on file with the club. It is this database that we use in the OCR to maintain our own membership information. The OCR publishes the “Pando” every month. It used to be the “Pandemonium”, but the name was cut to the “Pando” as it was felt that modern attention spans could not last through five syllables. And of course, it saves ink and is easier to spell. Our region is quite large with 2,000+ members. There are both large and small regions within our zone and the PCA overall. Some with as few as a couple of hundred members. But we all get along and most will have track events, concours, and eating gatherings so that the members can “kick the tires” and share their Porsche stories. If you do anything after reading this little dissertation on the organization of the Porsche Club, it would be to go to the PCA site and check your personal information, or profile. We use this information to do things like mail the Pando for instance. My anecdotal information is that most

Story by Rob Greene, Photo by Paul Novotne Selecting a particular Porsche model for the VIP (very important Porsche) display and reserved parking at our monthly Original Mike’s meeting, has been well received by our evergrowing membership. We have just completed our first series of the Porsche Alley - Cone Zone and we are going forward with the next installment for Porsche Alley – Cone Zone recognition: COLOR.

We plan to begin the new series in May with a color that will have all of you seeing red in an excited way, we hope! The May meeting VIP color will be Red. You may ask yourself if your car fits into a certain month’s color. Will my Porsche be accepted into the cone Zone? YES. If you think your car fits that month’s color, then bring it, park it, and show it off!

We’ll make the same deal with the rest of the series colors, such as GREEN in June (the color schedule will be posted every month in the Pando). It is you who decides if your Porsche fits the designated color even when it’s black or white. Let’s all have some extra fun at the OCR meetings!

Walking the track

Is Auto-X an Addiction? Story by Steve Eguina Photos by Paul Novotne Auto-Cross (Auto-X) can be addicting. I know this to be true as my first event was over 50 years ago. My name is Steve, and yes I am addicted! Whether you drive your 45 year old 914 or the latest GT3, the addiction can be the same. If two months go by and I don’t get my “fix” I get grumpy, or worse. Do I love the adrenaline rush? Absolutely! However, that’s not what I am addicted to. I was really addicted to the camaraderie of the other drivers. Over the last 50 years competing at local and national PCA, POC and SCCA events, I have made many close friends and these friends and club members are my addiction. Not a bad bunch of addicts to hang out with!☺ OCR’s March Auto-X event, held at the Great Park, had a challenging course designed by Chuck Bartolon made up of slaloms, high and low speed sweeping turns with a couple yahoo sections thrown in for good measure. 10 PANDO | May 2016

The old El Toro air base runways give the Porsches plenty of room to stretch their legs. While the top speeds aren’t much different than your daily commute, the fun factor is way up there! The morning runs through the course are all for practice. The timed competition runs usually begin about 2:30PM, and the results are posted on the OCR website. Take a look at the different cars that are in the same classes. The results prove out that the driver’s skill and experience is the key to good results, especially in the stock classes. In the CC or modified classes, car setup and preparation also come into play. One modified class, CC09, has an interesting variety of Porsches. Chris Barrington won the class in his 928S, second place went to Quynh Nguyen in a 2013 Boxster S and third place went

to Douglas Volder driving his 1987 911. Front engine, mid-engine, and rear engine, and all three times were less than .6 seconds apart! In addition to the individual classes, all timed runs are adjusted to a performance index. This is referred to as the BRI, or Bragging Rights Index, or as I like to call it the TOP GUN class. At the March event, Erik Hagendijk driving his STOCK 2014 Boxster S was the TOP GUN! He beat some very well driven and prepared GT3’s, GT4’s and Turbo’s. Eric has some serious driving skills! We want to always keep in mind that with the support of our overall Club and Driving Event Sponsor, Walter’s Porsche, and our Auto-X Series Support Sponsors MOMO, and GMG, we have a great Auto-X series. Also, the local sponsors such as our March Event Sponsor Bill Brewster Industries, help

The Monday after the OCR event, I drove up to Willow Springs Raceway. Grand Prix Region was holding a DE or Drivers Education event. This was the first time I had a chance to drive my GT4 on a track. What a great time I had! With the suspension adjustments made the week prior, by long time club sponsors Mark Hergesheimer and the team at Hergesheimer Motorsports, the GT4 was amazing to drive and took Top Time of Day in the Zone 8 Auto-X held at the end of the day. Thanks Mark!

The fastest car on the track was the Yellow Cayman in the photo. This was being tested in the morning sessions by Vision Motorsports who had built it for a customer. As fast as my GT4 seemed, it was no match for a purpose-built race car with 750HP! More about these race cars in a future article.

Warm-Up Rally: The Story Story and Photos by Larry Moore

The morning of Sunday, March 20th, 2016, was slightly overcast and a very pleasant 70ish degrees as the members gathered at the Krispy Kreme in Orange for the day’s event. This rally, being the first of 2016, was designed to be a bit challenging, but at only 46 miles not a marathon (more about that below). The registration went smoothly, thanks to our Registration/ Score Lady, my always organized wife, Gloria. We registered 20 cars and my estimate count is that 5 contained first-time participants. The Route Instructions (RIs) led the competitors east on Chapman, through Orange, south to Newport Blvd., and then northerly up into the Peter’s Canyon Area. Here, the RIs led them down Santiago Canyon Rd., then up Saddleback Ranch Rd. over the hill into the Portola area. From here, they proceeded east into northern Mission Viejo and then southerly down 14 PANDO | May 2016

to Jeronimo. Turning back west on Jeronimo, they drove through Lake Forest, into Irvine and then skirted the Spectrum Center into the Woodbridge Area. Finally, they ended their drive

at Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ at The District Center in southeast Tustin. There were four main challenges in this event. First, the competitors had to follow the RIs. The RIs were fairly straight forward, but did include some Odd/Evens and a couple of Note Instructions just to keep the Navigators awake. The additional three challenges along the route for the competitors were that they were looking to find 8 randomly spaced Photo Objects, to discover the answers to 7 multi-part Route Questions, and to correctly record the elapsed mileage between specified points on the route. Well, all went well up to about the 70% complete mark on the route. Here the competitors ran into a “special event” closure for a cancer research marathon (Hello, Irvine Police!). This unanticipated closure involved multiple streets for several miles, blocked access to one of the Photo Objects, and totally disrupted a significant chunk of the designed rally route. I am pleased to report the members, by and large, worked their way around the closure and 19 of the starting 20 cars completed the route. That was the very good news, but the bad news was that from a scoring point

of view, a significant adjustment was required. Compounding this was a Rallimeister error (the transposing of two critical numbers on the Master Score Sheet) that resulted in incorrectly scoring everyone’s Control Card; “S%+$^&#@”! Result: It was not possible to unravel the compounded problem at the event so as to allow the presentation of the award medals. So, the event wrapped up with a fun drive and a lot of good camaraderie, but no awards. On the following Monday morning, with my computer at my fingertips, I was able to construct a uniform and fair partial score adjustment. This adjustment was good but not precise enough to absolutely identify specific winners. So, the list that follows is the partially adjusted scores of the top 50% of the competitors and for sure encompasses all of the superior performances. The “adjusted target score” for both ODD and EVEN is 24 points. C.L. What is the Wolfpack? Story and Photos by Darin Moore

Collins Dictionary defines a wolfpack as, “A group of wolves that live and hunt together as a group”. Did you know that PCA-OCR has a human version known as “The Wolfpack”? If you are a user of our very own PCA-OCR app, it would be next to impossible to be unfamiliar with a certain group of club members and associates known as the Wolfpack. No, our Wolfpack does not live or hunt together, but they are a group worth getting to know a little better. So just who are the Wolfpack, and what do they do? We are a group of PCAOCR members who share a love of all things Porsche, and we like to share our love for our treasured German sports cars in new and exciting ways. Led by the very personable, creative and colorful Derek Taguchi (acid green is his favorite!), the Wolfpack organizes many different activities, non-PCA affiliated, which emphasize our desire to spread Porsche love to all who share our vision and passion. These activities almost always include driving our cars to interesting and wonderful 18 PANDO | May 2016

places. I personally find the Wolfpack to represent all of the things I was hoping to find in a sports car club.... caring, warm, genuine people that enjoy doing things together, working together as a group, and sharing a common bond. We put our heads together to pick new places to drive to, and every drive has proven to be more fun than I could have ever imagined. It’s not just the spectacular scenery; it’s the

unbelievably nice people I have met in this group. We have gotten together for sporting events, parties and other social activities, but drives are our favorite. Together we have driven to places and destinations such as; Malibu Cars and Coffee, Pelican Parts on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, (which included a stop at Derek’s wonderful restaurant), Fish Bonz Grill, 6th Street Bridge in Los Angeles (article and incredible

Most of these drives begin with a meet up early in the morning, followed by the drive, with breakfast and/or lunch worked into our day. It seems there is an event, an activity or a drive almost every weekend. The Wolfpack is constantly looking for ideas for our next adventure, which is always just around the next bend (pun intended).

The Wolfpack are regulars at the monthly meetings at Original Mike’s, the 3rd Saturday get-togethers at Krispy Kreme, at autocross (a few Wolfpack are PCAOCR autocross instructors), and at a number of the local weekend cars and coffee gatherings. These are just a few of the places you can expect to find the Wolfpack. How will you recognize the Wolfpack? Although we are usually found together (in a pack!), we are outgoing, friendly, and we welcome P-car conversation with all. Also look for our mascot, Wolfie, who accompanies most all of us on our adventures. Those of us with manual transmissions usually find a place for Wolfie in our passenger seats, while those with 2 pedals often rest our canine friend on their shifters.

This May is testing time for the Grand Prix of Endurance, the 24 hours of Le Mans. Porsche’s 919 is a heavy favorite again. With respect, I report the new FORD GT will be racing for the win as well. Unlike Porsche, the Ford GT is a racing version of the very same road going FORD GT, something Porsche used to do back in the days of the 904-906934-935-RSR-& 993 GT-2. That is turn road going cars into top bracket race cars. The GT3 is now the race going version of a Porsche street car. Remembering that it was Porsche’s 917 that unseated Ford’s GT-40 back in 1970, it only seems fit to acknowledge Ford’s return to LeMans in 2016. Do I dare say it? Okay. May the best car win!

Brumos Porsche is no More!

Peter Gregg & Hurley Haywood drove their essentially stock Brumos Porsche 1973 Carrera RSR to an outright 1st place victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona! This put a smile on every 911 owners face forever, and it still does. This opened the door for hundreds - if not thousands - of 911 victories for private 911& 930 racing teams worldwide for decades. At Daytona, I was cheering for Mark Donohue/George Follmer’s ’73 RSR in bright “Sunoco Blue/ Yellow” to win, but a “busted piston” ended their dominating race to that point. Brumos Porsche dealership ran a front and back door factory racing effort -and won consistently in the 1970s -80s -90s -00s, and through 2015. All I can say, sadly is: THANK YOU & Godspeed.

CIS Fuel Injection and California CARB Regulations

CIS fuel injection problems will be further compromised with California’s appointed so called ‘clean air regulators’ as the stories come that they are attempting to mandate a 15% use of ethanol in fuel. It is a shame that we already pay more per gallon and actually get less energy use (worse mileage). Now this ‘brew’ is causing some issues with modern EFI systems. Of note, is the worldwide SAE calling for a one fuel blend, globally, so the world manufacturers can implement a mandated 55+ mpg. The idea of single blend fuel is so that very efficient, high compression engines can be designed. This cannot be done with the haphazard method of regulator mixing fuel blends along their own ideologies…. region by region.

CIS has a major help with SSF Imported Auto parts with their new CIS repair and overhauling suppliers. I have used their supplier (not yet named-officially) and their work is very good so far, and as I have reported in the past, most so called “overhauled – repaired” businesses for CIS parts, were done so poorly that I would not use them or recommend them to anyone. Soon, I will be more specific but at least most shops doing Porsche work use SSF and that is a major reason we can still get good parts for these older Porsches.

CIS Issues-again

1982 911SC in near perfect condition but has one funny partial miss fireespecially noticed at idle? After a lot of checking; ignition, compression, valve adjustment (tight valve adjustment will cause a partial miss-fire and, BTW, a blown smog check, CIS Fuel Injection pressures were checked-all normal. All Fuel Injectors removed, numbered, cleaned, and pressure blow-off and stop pressure recorded -and all were normal with good fuel patterns. High pressure fuel injector fuel lines

were checked for kinks, cracks or leaks, and flow checked -ALL near perfect. The problem was with Nr 5 cylinder and by switching Nr 5 fuel line and injector over to Nr 6 and Nr 6 over to Nr 5, the problem transferred to number 6 cylinder. That left the fuel distributor as the problem. The fuel distributor outlets did not have the micro screens in them so there was nothing more to be checked. A Rebuilt Fuel Distributor was installed and the engine ran instantly weird as over time it had been over adjusted around the bad Nr. 5 outflow by tuning the C.O. too rich. I had to trim the C.O. down towards lean by almost 2 turns, but the C.O. then came into limit and the engine purred like a happy kitten! Acceleration ripped to redline with ease and the 911 drove great again. The exact problem I believe is a deformed diaphragm inside the Fuel Distributor and likely more than one cylinder was problematic.

Tech Hints for earlier Turbo’s

I have some small tech hints for easier work in the engine compartments of

the 930 & 964 (3.3L) Turbos: and one simple modification of the left chain housing COVER: 930.105.063.01 & .08. Since 1975 all 911-930s have a flange cast onto the left Chain Housing COVER. For the 1975-1979 911s only, the AIR PUMP-which was bolted onto the left cover [the 930 Turbo mounted their air pump on the front of the engine, (Flywheel side)]. After 1980, the air pump was not used on the 911 but the cast on flange remained on all years up to 1992 and was also incorporated on the 1984 3.2 Liter Carrera’s hydraulic chain tensioner upgrade kits which are retro fitted to all 911s-930s. In the case of the 930 turbo, this adds to the already congested area of the left chain cover, and access to the following; turbocharger, ducts, pipes, thermo-time switch, oil line to the hydraulic tensioner, and turbocharger oil supply and scavenge tank vent hose. I had the need to do cam timing changes on a 930 Turbo with unusual cams, & BTW this is a 12 hour job for both cams. May 2016 | PANDO 23


With that cast on Air Pump Flange, this alone mandated I had to remove the turbo oil sump tank, oil & breather lines, exhausts tubes, and the turbocharger, just to be able to remove the chain housing cover. After doing this several times, I realized that air pump flange casting was why I had to remove the turbo and exhausts. And I had to remove them because the flange was only ‘slightly in the way’. So I cut the darn flange off the chain housing cover and smoothed it with a file. Then I removed the two long M-8 studs (for the air pump) and replaced them with 2 ea. short M8 bolts. Now, with everything installed, I was able to easily removal the cover without removing the turbocharger (& exhausts) and found I had enough room to access the thermo-time switch, turbo air ducts & hoses, chain tensioner oil pressure line, Now I could adjust the left cam with the turbocharger in place, all so much easier… Obviously, this should be done at upgrades to the hydraulic tensioners or in service work on later 930 Turbos. This makes any job on a 930 and 911 so much easier. I realize this may only apply to very few owners, but from experience, I have found these small upgrades make maintaining much less stressful and time consuming.

: I see strange marks on my refinished Fuchs wheels right under the inflation stem… Is there something that can be done to stop this?

: JEEPERS-CREEPERS! Again Why Porsche uses rubber inflation valves (“VALVES Nr. 900.265.001.50”) on high performance cars is beyond me, but they do. These inflation valves have a metal (usually brass) internally 24 PANDO | May 2016

threaded inner part that the inflation “valve core” screws into-just like the ones on bicycle tires, air conditioning service valves, and the ones you see on Fuel Injection “fuel rails.” Any car traveling beyond 45 mph will have these inflation valves laying down against the wheel rim from the normal centrifugal force of wheel rotation.

I strongly suggest using all metal inflation valves on high performance cars!

Porsche has a “Valve support”, Nr. 965.361.561.00, that self sticks to the wheel rim and holds the valve in an upright position. That works, but in my opinion is a dumb idea. Water eventually decays the self-stick material, and when it does, the support falls off. Now at speed, the valve is pulled over flat against your wheel and makes a rub mark as well! Another thing about those pretty “Porsche Crest” valve caps is that they make wonderful theft attractions and add weight to the rotational mass which pulls the valve and cap harder against the wheel rim. High performance cars should use all metal valves which have a rubber seal gasket under the inside valve head to seal air. I also recommend using the cheap light weight metal valve caps. Nobody steals them, they are less weight, and I always make sure they have a rubber seal inside the cap*1. Follow on *1; I would show new time trial drivers how by not having sealing valve caps on their wheels ‘funny’ handling could be caused on their Porsches on high speed tracks. After a high speed run, I would slowly unscrew the valve cap off a valve and hear a tiny “pisst” sound. That was air or nitrogen that had come from the slightly depressed valve core at high speed and was held in pressure under the valve cap. With no cap that air would vent to atmosphere and the driver would start to wonder why their handling was acting so weird. Tire presses would go down! I learned this the hard way as well..

Elf #1 in a previous life, owned a communications firm that specialized in print communications, primarily for the Japanese and Korean car manufacturers and the Japanese motorcycle companies.

The “sunset location” look is perfect for a beauty shot that is often emulated in the studio. Black cloth walls are constructed for the horizon, and lights are then bounced off either “flying flat” panels, or the ceiling of a “cove” studio for the “perfect light”.

Denny explained the basic beauty shot in the industry is a “sunset - open horizon” concept shown above. This shot is staged as the sun goes over the horizon, and for about 20 minutes, floods the sky with “perfect light”. This light puts a soft highlight on the

The Girl With The Can-Do Attitude! Story and Photos by Judy Lech

If you were at our Orange Coast Region Holiday Party, you will probably remember seeing the young lady who stood up and handed $400 over to our Semper Fi charity. She did it by collecting plastic water bottles. This is one of her ways of giving back.

Friends by asking the City of Laguna Hills for help to provide a place to go for people aged 13 and up with disabilities. She also has helped World Vision by recycling water bottles, and sponsors a child through Save the Children.

There is a lot more to Jennifer Hinds that took her on this journey to become one of tomorrow’s change makers. She is the daughter of Paul & Penny Hinds, two of our active OCR members, and often accompanies them to our events. This young lady has Downs Syndrome and is proud to say she is turning 38 this month. She feels very lucky in her life since her parents have encouraged her to follow her dreams and have supported her in anything and everything she has wanted to do. She has snorkeled in Hawaii, swam with dolphins, driven a jet ski, and ridden horseback in a parade. She has also competed in the Special Olympics in horseback riding, track and field and floor hockey.

One of Jennifer’s favorite things to do is act. She has been on several TV shows: “Quincy”, “Seventh Heaven” and “Any Day Now”. She considers one of her greatest days to be when she received a call from the South Coast Repertory Theatre. The offer was to be one of the five principal players in the play Vesuvius; she would also be delivering her lines in Latin. This performance was the first time in 41 years of South Coast history that a person with a disability would be appearing on stage. Isn’t she talented? And for more fun, she loves the Zumba exercise class and dancing Gangnam style, ceramic making, watching old sitcom movies, and spending time with her boyfriend.

In the past, she has fasted for 24 hours for World Hunger and raised money for the charity. She started the Circle of

of favorite recipes, which Jennifer has made in her home. Of course, all of this comes with another goal: Complete the cookbook, “Simply Cooking,” then appear on the Food Network, and also to meet the food giants, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Paula Deen and Mario Batali. Jennifer believes she can beat Bobby in a food throw down. No doubt she could. A positive attitude toward life and giving shows that one person does make a difference. She loves being “other focused”, not just self-focused. She takes the lead to be a good role model in all she does. She admires people for the selflessness and acceptance of others who are different from them. She sees a need and acts on it. Overcoming obstacles takes initiative; Jennifer has a great set of values and commitment to see what she can do to benefit others. This is the joy she gets out of life. What a lucky lady, she gets it. As has been said many times in our car club, “it’s not the cars, it’s the people”. We are lucky to know Jennifer and thank members Paul and Penny Hinds for sharing her with us.

So What about 2016?

The BIG national event is the “Porsche Parade” held in a different location every year in the summer. The year before last, it was in Monterey, and last year (2015) it was in “French Lick”, Indiana. What the French were doing there, and what they were licking to get the name to stick, I do not know! This year the Parade is in Jay Peak, Vermont,

Ah, well glad you asked. In 2016, Porsche is releasing the next generation 911 and Boxster variants. All of these become turbocharged, motor displacements decrease, horse power increases, and fuel mileage increases as well. A pretty remarkable year indeed in the Porsche world. In addition, the Boxster and Cayman dropped two cylinders and become a flat four. So, rather significant changes to our favored brand. Will the public buy? Send me your opinions I’d love to hear them and share them if it comes to that. I personally cannot wait to drive these vehicles and get a taste of the future that awaits.

Ke-Jen and Shan ate at Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo (Japan’s #1 sushi restaurant). The 90-year-old master chef of this Michelin 3 star restaurant is the subject of the movie “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” and he has been declared a national treasure by the Japanese government. His son Yoshikazu (who’s 2nd in command at the restaurant) is a fan of performance cars. Too bad he owns an Audi RS 6 quattro instead of a Porsche! Thank you, Ke-Jen and Shan, for taking us along !
