THE INTACT HUMAN BRAIN The world is developing rapidly. New researches are being carried out in science and technology. Researchers are not just limited to scientists but school going children as well as college going teens are coming up with their latest ideas and inventions. An immense interest to create something new in the field of science or technology leads to innovational inventions and researches. There are many new researches witnessed in medical fields too. Electronics in medicinal field are saving many lives. Latest machines such as MRI and  ultrasound, CT and PET scanners, LASIK machines, infusion pumps etc. have saved human lives in various ways. These machines also help in early detections of diseases which help precautions at earlier stages. One such wonderful invention is of the " pacemaker". It is a little gadget that is placed in the chest or stomach to help control abnormal heart beats. This device uses electrical pulses to immediate the heart to beat at a normal pace. The brain pacemaker is one of the newest invention. The pacemaker for the brain inspires neurological therapy. The chip helps in providing DBS( deep brain stimulation) incisively whenever it is needed. By invigorating certain areas of the brain, scientists can identify the impacts of the disorders such as depression which is also known as Parkinson's disease. DBS refers to a surgical process that plants an electronic stimulator deep into the brain in order to treat the complications of levodopa therapy. These complications are also known as dyskinesia which involves nonvoluntary ,wrenching, and spasmodic movements of the hands, legs and trunks. Dyskinesias may be witnessed in people with Parkinson's disease (PD) after years of treatment with levodopa.DBS involves planting an electrical stimulator into either the section of the Globus Pallidus (GPi) or subthalamic nucleus (STN) . These brain sites play a vital role in regulating movements. Thus, the use of 'neurostimulator' -- a battery-operated medical device which is in the size of a stopwatch is planted under the skin near the collarbone which connects to a wire going to the brain to supervise the brain portions that regulate the movement. There is a boon and a bane for every device. DBS too has certain Pros and Cons. Its Pros can be stated as an improvement of symptoms related to levodopa side effects, particularly with respect to dyskinesia, for the people who undergo the process. The patient himself can control the level of stimulation, following an adjustment based on subjective need. But the procedure will carry risk and some side effects. Research proves to be vital aspect of our daily lives. Students needs to be trained in such a way that they can develop new ideas and innovations.
