MARK 10:51 (NIV)

In Mark 10:51, Jesus asks a blind man named Bartimaeus, “What do you want me to do for you?” This simple question changed EVERYTHING for Bartimaeus. He replied without hesitation, “I want to see.” And he received his sight immediately. Not only that, but he afterward followed Jesus. This begs the question: What would be your response to that same question from Jesus? Are you desperate for Him to move in your life?

As you journey through our spiritual disciplines in the upcoming days, weeks, and months, take some time to reflect on what you want in your relationship with Christ. What are you desperate for Him to do in your life? And when He does move, will you follow Him?

The first step is admitting that we need Jesus. We need to come to a place of desperation—where we realize that we can’t do life on our own. We need His strength to get through each day. We need His wisdom to make decisions. We need His peace to calm our anxious minds. And we need His love to fill the emptiness in our hearts.

When you reach this point of desperation, you will find that Jesus is always faithful to meet you right where you are. He is waiting with open arms, ready and willing to help in whatever way you need. All you have to do is ask.
