A large UK retailer was looking to create a quick, flexible and cost effective selection process for their nationwide network of shoe stores. They are a very successful and well-known brand and although applicants were plentiful, they wanted to ensure that they recruited the best candidates for their in-store Sales Consultants whilst also reducing attrition.

PCL assessed existing employees using the Profile:MatchTM personality questionnaire and identified the links between key personality attributes and job performance. This provided statistical validation that employees who are:

Using these findings, PCL was able to tailor Profile:MatchTM to focus on those aspects of personality that were predictive of performance. PCL also designed a bespoke report with interview questions, which became an integral part of the client’s recruitment process.

The results

When re-analysing the data after Profile:MatchTM had been used for recruitment, the results spoke for themselves. Employees selected using Profile:MatchTM sold over £10 more per hour than those selected without Profile:MatchTM.
