Thirty years after its humble beginnings, PCS Edventures has instilled a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in students all over the globe. Through exciting, experiential learning, our learners quickly develop the foundations of scientific inquiry, engineering design principles and spatial mathematical awareness while also exercising problem-solving, communication, reflection and collaboration skills. These ideas meld perfectly with drones, a vibrant and innovative platform for STEM education. As students build their modular drones, they’re engaging with hands-on lessons in structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. With a fully-functional drone, it’s up to each pilot to lock-in the correct flight configuration before they can take-off for the first time, a task that immerses learners in the sciences of robotics and programming.

Once they’re in the air, piloting a drone requires intuitive knowledge of the physics of flight and aerodynamics, a deep understanding of student and classroom safety procedures, and an appreciation of the responsibilities that come with flying a drone. As students work towards the adrenaline-filled experience of FPV flight, inspiring a deep love for STEM in the process, they gain invaluable skills and experiences, giving them a leg-up in emerging drone careers.

PCS Edventures’ Ready, Set, Drone! Camp was developed for upper elementary learners to promote early awareness and exposure to thrilling drone and STEM opportunities. Engaging learners through hands-on, activity-based learning as a means of developing the foundations of scientific inquiry, engineering design principles and technological literacy, the Ready, Set, Drone! Drone Pilot Ground School is an online test prep course for commercial drone pilots looking to pass the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test for a Remote Pilot Certificate. Designed to supplement the Discover Drones materials and curriculum, this pack includes topquality micro-drones, micro gates and flags, a simple timing system and a starter set of extra batteries and propellers. The micro DYS ELF quadcopters are made with durable brushless motors, carbon fiber undercarriage, and sturdy prop guards. Fly with the same FPV goggles and FrSky radios included in the Discover Drone package, or use the additional radio controllers included in the package. The ELF may be petite, but it’s every bit as challenging to fly as its larger counterparts, so students are fully prepared to later take their skills back outside.

Designed by FPV racers for FPV racers, the one-piece gates and flags are made of heavy-duty fade and prop resistant fabric. Framed to last with durable heavy-wall fiberglass tubing and joined with high-quality metal ferrules. No PVC tubing needed. The included ground stakes will keep the gates and flags in place for fast set up and teardown. Heavy duty duffel bag for easy transport and storage included. The FPV timing system is easy to use. Power on the device, drop it in the start/finish gate, select its ID in the free Android/iOS app, select the number of pilots, and video channels used, and start racing. PCS Edventures guarantees our products with a limited warranty against material or workmanship defects for a period of 60 days from the product’s ship date. Within the 60-day period of this warranty, PCS Edventures will replace, free of charge, any unused part proving defective in material or workmanship. All expenses related to replacing a defective part under this warranty (excluding shipping) shall be assumed by PCS Edventures.

Warranty Exclusions. This warranty does not cover damage from normal wear including flight, crashes, not following the technical instructions provided or mismatch or misuse of battery and charger. Please inspect your materials immediately upon receipt. How to Obtain Warranty Service. Contact PCS Edventures at (208) 343-3110 or email support@ edventures.com with the following information: 1. Contact name and telephone number, 2. School organization, 3. Purchase order and sales order #’s and 4. As complete of a description of the problem as possible. PCS Edventures will attempt to diagnose and resolve your problem over the phone. If PCS Edventures determines that your problem is covered under warranty, PCS Edventures will issue a replacement. If PCS Edventures determines that the problem is not covered under the warranty, PCS Edventures will advise the customer of the cost of the replacement parts.
A Return Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) can be issued within fifteen (15) business days of your receipt of product. Returns must be received by PCS Edventures within thirty (30) calendar days after issuance of the RMA number. 34

DRONE REGISTRATION Register and label your drones. Go to https://registermyuas.faa.gov/ to get one registration number for your program as a model aircraft operator. Be prepared for a one-time $5 fee. Display the registration number on each drone. RubiQ’s base plate is a great option.
FCC RADIO LICENSE Earn an FCC radio license. The FCC regulates the use of the radio frequency spectrum, which includes the frequencies used by FPV systems. Because there’s a lot of conflicting information about the legality of different video transmitters, we recommend educators and student pilots follow the AMA guideline of carrying an amateur FCC radio license to operate any model aircraft FPV system without a Part 15 certification sticker.
