Get down to business with FEU training Under the banner of the FEU, the National Union of Journalists, BECTU, Equity and the Musicians’ Union are working together, where possible, to help you survive and thrive in the freelance world. You’ve told us that you need to brush up on your business skills, so we’re launching a new programme of courses this autumn to help you do just that. Initially, the programme includes four courses that you’ve said are important: Copyright for Creatives: ensure that you know your rights and get paid for your work. Freelance Survival Guide: find out what it takes to run your own business. Networking Via the Web: easy ways to market yourself.

Great Value Courses cost just £25 compared with the market rate of over £200 for similar courses

Build Your Own Website: you can do it for as little as £50. Accessible Depending on demand, we’ll be delivering the courses throughout the country. (see p 2-3) Relevant & practicaL Tutored by freelance industry professionals, the courses have been developed with you in mind. From the courses we’ve run so far, participants say that they learn more easily and have more fun with their peers in a creative environment. TO THE POINT You’ve told us that working for yourself means that you have little time to spare, even for selfdevelopment - so each course is one day in duration and aims to get straight to the heart of the matter. For the course timetable and outlines, see pages 2-7. BOOK NOW AS SPACES ARE LIMITED: For booking and more information: email mirandagavin@hotmail.com or tel 07951 601774.
