HURRICANE - Hi-lites, cuts, complimentary coffee and professional styling are the roots to one successful hair styling business. The one-stop-styling-shop opened in November, and like its name, Roots Salon has grown into a major Putnam County business. Inside the doors, custom paint schemes arrest the attention of all who enter. A painted tree with branches and roots grows up the wall, above high-end shampoo chairs. Two women with custom hair colors and styles smile, ready to amp confidence in women, men and children with unique haircuts and styles. “I like to see the end result and make people feel good about themselves,” said Beth Ann Rader, owner of Roots Salon. Stylist Leah Burton agreed.

between them. They have more than 2,000 hours of education each and a vast knowledge from hair shows and previous jobs. For Burton and Rader, hair styling is more than a profession:

TEAYS VALLEY - The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce welcomed two life-changing business to the area Wednesday

evening. Sovine Life Coaching and Onsite Digital Radiology Services shared in joint ribbon cuttings. Putnam Chamber of Commerce Director Marty Chapman was pleased to welcome them both to the county.

"It's always good to have quality businesses coming in - we've continued to grow in the slow times - Putnam County is seen as a growing and vibrant community," he said. "We're very fortunate - people seek us out." Chapman thanked Putnam
