TEAYS VALLEY - With school back in session, one church decided to help students and parents. Last week, members of Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene gave away free clothes for families. At 8:30 a.m., a line of more than 50 people stretched across the parking lot. Doors opened at 9 a.m. Church member and clothing ministry volunteer Anna Pennington was happy to serve her community. “We have a lot of needs in Teays Valley,” she said. “My kids are blessed, and we hope this blesses someone else.” Inside the church’s basement, clothes covered the walls. Upon entry, families were given a bag and information about the church. Pastor Sonny Williams offered to pray for those in need. He was happy to see his church members reaching out to others. “This is very humbling to know that we can be that extended hand and open our hearts and doors,”

During the two-day event, more than 300 people were served. In one year, Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene helps more than 1,000 families with events like this. To preachers like Williams, simply reading the Bible and attend-
ing church is not enough for his congregation. “Until you become a doer of the word (Bible’s commandments), you don’t know what the Christian life is about,” he said. “It’s more than believe…It’s ‘I will follow.’” Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene welcomes donations year-round for its clothing ministry. The church opens ministry
during the last Saturday of every month. It is located at 3937 Teays Valley Road. For more information, call (304) 757-8400 or visit www.teaysvalleychurchofthenazarene.com">www .teaysvalleychurchofthenaz arene.com">_tmp_url_2_nazaren e.com.
