Confidence Elementary partners with Fruth Pharmacy to Provide Free Vitamins for All Students RED HOUSE - Confidence Elementary students will have the opportunity to receive free vitamins each month for this 20122013 school year thanks to the generosity of Fruth Pharmacy and a caring teacher. Physical Education teacher Andrea Smith learned of Fruth Pharmacy’s Free Vitamins for Kids Program and contacted Category Manager Barbara Taylor at Fruth Pharmacy to see if her school could be enrolled. Ms. Smith was in luck and Confidence Elementary was enrolled into the program. The Free Vitamin Program will provide each Confidence student with a coupon book with 12 coupons which can be redeemed each month at the local Fruth Pharmacy for a 30 day supply of Fruth Children's Multivitamin. The vitamins are free, and there is no additional purchase required. Since good nutrition is so

ceive vitamins each month. Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy, first heard of the Free Vitamin Program at the Southern

Drug Association meeting last fall. Fruth began working with the Mason Vitamin Company to produce the Fruth Children's Multivitamin to be distributed to local school children. As a former teacher, Fruth immediately thought about the impact that free vitamins could have on children’s health. “Between busy schedules and picky eaters, sometimes fitting in all key nutrition points is difficult for parents. We wanted to help give children a health boost. It’s seems like a small thing to provide vitamins to children, but it is a big thing to their overall health and well being,” Lynne Fruth shared. If you have any questions about the Fruth Free Vitamin Program, or to inquire about your school participating in the future, please contact Barbara Taylor at the Fruth Corporate Office at 304-675-1612.

Arts and Crafts Fair draws Crowds to School By Justin Waybright justin@theputnamstandard.com

TEAYS VALLEY - Hundreds of people poured into the West Teays Elementary School during the 12th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair, Dec. 1. Unique items covered the tables of more than 80 vendors from across the Tri-State. The handmade décor and night lights on Doug and Ruth Kemp’s table attracted the eyes of many shoppers. The husband and wife team run R&D Collectibles, a business out of Scott Depot. “Our motto is don’t burn it, turn it,” said Kemp. “I make them

gifts. Doug shapes the wood and Ruth paints it. “We make a pretty good team,” he said. The Kemps can be contacted at (304) 757-2716. Across from R&D’s booth, a man sat, wearing a hat that had “Game Man” stitched on it. Many boys and girls stopped at his table to attempt to solve the peculiar puzzles. “Most of the puzzles I offer have five-to-seven-step solutions,” the retired carpenter said. “It’s great seeing all the people you meet at shows, trying to solve them.” Jerry Lee “The Game Man” can be contacted at (304) 722-0574.
