"Buffalo for Senior Citizens" A buffet dinner will be held at the Buffalo Diner on Saturday, Dec 22, 2 PM - ?. There will be a variety of food selections with the cost of the dinner being the focus of this event. Admission cost is a MERCHANT GIFT CARD, of any amount. (Example: a gift certificate or card from any of our local merchants - Buffalo Buffalo Drug, Foodking, Exxon, Stokes, Angalenos, Tammy's Restaurant, Dollar General, Buffalo Diner, Buffalo Shopping Center, Fruth, Foodland, Rite-Aid, Walmart, Kroger's, Edible Arrangements, Home Depot, etc). The gift card donations will be collected at the door on the day of the event and distributed to Buffalo and local area senior citizens, in a random manner. Fruth Pharmacy begins Annual Awards, 60th Anniversary Celebrated SUBMITTED ARTICLE POINT PLEASANT, WV - On November 15th, Fruth Pharmacy celebrated 60 years in business. A formal “Diamond Anniversary” dinner was held at Trinity United Methodist Church to recognize the achievements of both Fruth Pharmacy and its personnel. Joan Fruth opened the evening by sharing with guests a brief biography about her father and the start of his business. Representatives from several West Virginia politician offices joined the celebration. Megan Shelton, from Senator Jay Rockefeller’s Office read a personal letter from Senator Rockefeller discussing his friendship with Mr. Jack Fruth and commending
Lynne Fruth currently serves as President and Chairman of the Board for Fruth Pharmacy. the company for reaching 60 years. Sean Hill, from Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s office also read a statement of congratula-
tions. Senator Joe Manchin’s representative, Sara Payne, expressed Senator Manchin’s apologies for not being able to
attend, as well as sharing his congratulations and memories of Mr. Fruth. Ms. Payne ended by sharing her personal connection with Fruth Pharmacy, having grown up near Fruth Pharmacy of Winfield. To relate industry news, CDMA President, Jim DeVine, shared some insight into the pharmacy business. He contributed stories and memories about Mr. Jack Fruth when he began Fruth Pharmacy. Jon Anderson named head football coach at West Virginia State University Coach brings three national championships and an impressive 134-26 record INSTITUTE, WV – The defensive coordinator for one of the nation’s most successful NAIA and NCAA Division II football programs has been named the new head football coach of the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets. Jon Anderson comes to Institute from the University of Sioux Falls (USF) where he has spent the past 11 years, including the past three as the Cougars’ defensive coordinator. He was introduced at a press conference today by WVSU’s Athletic Director Sean Loyd. Anderson becomes the 13th head football coach in Yellow Jackets history.
“We are delighted that a coach of Jon’s caliber, with a solid focus on student academic success and a strong, proven record of winning, is joining the Yellow Jacket family,” said Brian O. Hemphill, WVSU president. “Coach Anderson is a great fit for our football program at State,” added Athletic Director Sean Loyd. “Our student athletes, and really everyone here at West Virginia State, are ready to take football to the next level.
