AU Chorale to perform at Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot SCOTT DEPOT, WV - The Anderson University Chorale from Anderson, Ind., will perform at Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot, WV on Wed., March 20, at 6:45 p.m. as a part of its 2013 spring tour through the states of Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Indiana. In its 67th season, the 53-voice Anderson University Chorale under the direction of conductor, Richard Sowers, has received national and international recognition as one of the nation’s premiere collegiate choirs. The Chorale has performed in concert for several national and regional conventions of the American Chorale Directors Association. Domestic tours have taken the Chorale to almost every region and state. Tours have included performances in Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, Riverside

Church, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California and the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., Performances of the Emmy

award-winning “Candles and Carols” Christmas program by the Chorale and other Anderson University School of Music ensembles are televised each December throughout the United

Students Win Spot on County Math Field Day Team Putnam County students in grades 4 – 12 competed in the annual county Math Field Day contests in February. Students from all elementary, middle, and high schools competed in their division for spots on the teams that will represent Putnam County Schools in regional competition.

Superintendent Chuck Hatfield believes these academic competitions showcase not only the students themselves, but also the families, teachers, and community members who work with and support them. “These competitions give students an opportunity to demonstrate their academic excellence and give us

an opportunity to celebrate their achievement,” states Putnam County Schools Superintendent Chuck Hatfield. The following students and teams were winners in their respective divisions: 4th Grade 1st Place – James Eskew, Scott Teays Elementary
