WVSU conference to focus on West Virginia’s changing workforce needs INSTITUTE - The changing needs of West Virginia’s workforce is the focus of the inaugural Regional Workforce Development Conference Friday, Nov. 16, at West Virginia State University. Regional leaders of industry, business, education and policy will address issues relating to the state’s changing workforce needs in a series of panel discussions focusing on the role of education in preparing the workforce of the future. Topics include Innovation and the Future, Manufacturing, Natural Resources and Mining, 2+2 Option-building with Community Colleges, Preparing for Graduate/Professional School, and Preparing for the Future. “This conference will address the questions facing West Virginia in this evolving economy,” says Dr. Orlando F. Michigan man pleads guilty to sexual conduct with Putnam County Minor STAFF REPORT HUNTINGTON – A Michigan man pleaded guilty in federal court in Huntington on Monday, Oct. 29, to traveling in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a Putnam County
minor. Ashlee C. Liebert, 33, of Whitmore Lake, Mich., admitted that for approximately five months, beginning in November 2011 and continuing through March 2012, he established a relationship with a 12-
year-old minor residing Putnam County. Liebert admitted that he communicated with the minor by e-mail and cellphone where they had conversations that were sexual in nature. Liebert further admitted that
