A JOG is a 2-day experience with your peers discussing the generous life. We are all on our own journeys, and it is invaluable to come together to encourage each other along the way. A JOG contains 5 sessions and is designed to be experienced over a 24-hour period, typically Friday afternoon through Saturday lunch. Together we explore the life-changing message of generosity and the power it has to bring joy, freedom, and purpose. We have JOG opportunities in May and June. Sign up for one today at pcpc.org/jog. bill.bogart@pcpc.org or 214-224-2559

While I was packing for leave to the Bahamas, I had no idea of what to expect. I had never gone to the Bahamas before and I only knew a few of the team members going. However, everyone was welcoming which ultimately made me decide to go on the trip.

Elementary and C.W. Sawyer Elementary. Through the windows in the van, I noticed their active city life. The streets were crowded with cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians. The first days on the mission trip were the most challenging for me. We spent most of our hours helping primary aged children in reading and writing I didn't realize how much patience was needed to teach and assist the children, but I knew God was taking me out of my comfort zone in order for me to truly understand their lives and situation. The more I worked with the local community, I began to feel something unique from

to see their faces light up when we first walked into their classrooms. Both the teachers and students were very thankful for the work that we were doing and had the most positive outlook and expressions, despite the hardships they were enduring. The following days were my favorite. We created a little garden in their school yard, which is where I flourished and left everything on the line. Early on, most of our work involved leveling the ground and removing small to large rocks from the soil, which is a lot harder than it sounds. However, we had a great team and we were able to get the job done. The next day, Dr. Russell invited us to a church service and a meal at the local PCA church. During the service, he preached about the importance of knowing that we are not saved through our own actions but through our faith in Christ. It was refreshing and a perfect reminder of how gracious our God is. He continuously forgives us, walks with us, and reminds us that we’re His children. We are loved unconditionally. If I could pass along advice to people on why they should go on a mission trip with PCPC, I would say just go! It’s truly an opportunity to grow and get to learn more about yourself and your faith in Christ while getting to help others. You will realize that as you help them, they too help you in many ways. Thank you, PCPC and donors, for this opportunity that I will cherish forever. —Giovanna Solorzano | PCPC Youth

PCPC Family Ministry is hosting an annual parent meeting on Sunday, May 5 during both the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. hours in Room 107/109 in the Children’s area. We want to personally invite you to come and to bring other PCPC parents with you. This time will be beneficial for all parents, no matter the age of your child or youth. We will introduce you to: · Vision— Why we do what we do. · Annual Calendar (including programming and events for June 2019-May 2020) — What we are doing. · Staff — Who is doing it. Those who come—if you bring your calendars—can prioritize your child’s spiritual life at PCPC for 2019-2020. Our desire is that your child is involved in the life and body of Christ through the ministries of our church. Please prioritize this and make every effort to attend! leana.dusek@pcpc.org or 214-224-2762
