Women in the Word: A workshop

H

ave you ever wondered about a practical way to talk about scripture with your next door neighbor? Perhaps you always wanted to know how to apply the Word of God to an everyday life situation. Or maybe you’ve always want to have confidence in teaching children, leading a small group in your home, teaching a lesson from the Bible in front of a larger group, or giving a thoughtful answer to a question posed from a skeptic. If so, this conference is just the place for you. Women in the Word is an opportunity for you to grow in your understanding of practical ways to engage Christian teaching. Women in the Word is centered on helping women who love God’s word improve their ability to interpret, apply, and present Scripture to others. Through this conference, we want to grow together in communicating the Word of God to everyone around you, whether in a formal setting like a Bible study or perhaps a front yard conversation with your neighbor. God’s Word can be used in every situation. Join us Friday and Saturday, January 28-29, 2011, at PCPC in talking together about how to use it for His glory in all areas of our lives. Pick up a brochure on the Women’s Ministry table and be sure to register. Space limited. Cost is $85. Registration by Friday, December 17. Contact ann.higginbottom@pcpc.org or 214-224-2725.

ach Christmas season we offer PCPC members the opportunity to purchase a poinsettia ($7.50 each) in memory of or honor of a friend or family member. They will be in the Sanctuary, Sunday, December 12, and there will be a bulletin insert that morning listing the names of the donor and the recipient. Our chancel area will be wreathed in these beautiful plants for our worship services on December 12, December 19, and Christmas Eve. You may take your plant with you following the Christmas Eve evening services. Please fill out the form below (when ordering multiple plants, please write information on a separate sheet of paper and attach to the form) and mail it no later than November 30 to insure that your gift is listed in the bulletin insert. Requests received later than Thursday, December 2, will likely miss the insert printing deadline. Please reserve one plant in honor of:
