Church history books

If you want to bone up on your church history but don't have time, we have several books for you in the children's section of the Bookstore. Take a look at the hardbound collectible Simonetta Carr series beginning with Augustine, John Calvin, and John Owen. Our esteemed Scottish brother, Sinclair Ferguson, began a series on the Church Fathers. He tells of Ignatius and Polycarp (disciples of John) and Irenaeus (Polycarp's disciple) and their success in spreading the Good News about Jesus to the farthest ends of the earth. The Church History ABC's is a colorful way for small ones to learn the alphabet and for big ones to learn of our predecessors. The History Lives series chronicles in an easy-to-read novella format the ancient, medieval, reformation, and awakening church periods of history. Contact amy.tassos@pcpc.org or 214-224-2740.

Computer summer part-time position

Pete Deison is searching for a high school- or college-age student who is computer savvy to transfer cassette recordings onto digital formats for archival purposes. The job requires four–five hours per week, anytime between Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–6:00 pm. Contact lawan.glasscock@pcpc.org or 214-224-2739.

Arts Festival logo competition

The 2012 Arts Festival theme will be The Passion and the Promise. There is a competition to create a logo for the festival. You may submit your entry Friday, July 1–Thursday, August 25, to artsfestival@pcpc.org. Contact lawan.glasscock@pcpc.org or 214-224-2739.

ESL co-teacher volunteers needed

ESL is looking for volunteers to co-teach this fall, Tuesdays or Thursdays. No experience or foreign language is required. Materials are provided, so little preparation is necessary. Contact esl@pcpc.org.

Join our Children's Ministry team Sunday mornings as we shape our covenant children's stories (lives) for Christ. We need teachers and teaching assistants for children ages newborn through kindergarten. Get ready to have your story (life) shaped as well! Contact gale.emerson@pcpc.org or 214-224-2566.

Flower arrangements in Sanctuary needed Do you appreciate the beauty of our flowers in the worship services on Sunday mornings? There is a weekly need for donations that purchase the beautiful arrangements we enjoy. A donation is a wonderful way to honor or remember a family member or friend and to enrich the whole congregation as we gather to worship each week. Please call Helen Stewart for details and to sign up.

Contact Helen Stewart, 214-350-7449.
