On a beautiful sunny day, Nini and Dad set out to pay a visit to the world-famous cabbage friend at the National Palace Museum.

I’m so excited!

02

There were so many people who had the same idea to visit the National Palace Museum because of the fair weather. Even though Nini couldn't wait to see cabbage friend, she was having a hard time finding the place to buy tickets with her dad.

Dad, are we there yet?

We are at the National Palace Museum already, but where can we get the tickets? Oh dear‌

04

Nini’s dad found a ticket vending machine after wandering around for a while. As they were about to buy their tickets, the sentence "For foreigners only. Please go to the admission counter for local residents’ tickets" was displayed on the screen of the machine. Look! A ticket vending machine!

Dad, it says for foreigners only!

06

Don’t worry Nini, I’m very sure!

Dad, are you sure this is the queue?

Following the crowds, Nini and her dad managed to find the way to line up for tickets. The man queuing in front of them said that the NPM has many different types of ticket, including the ones for weekdays and holidays, locals and foreigners, and elderly and children. Although the staff patiently explained to visitors, the queue still seemed endless. 08

Let's leave some suggestions to the National Palace Museum and hope they can improve!

Yay! Let’s go meet cabbage friend!

After getting the tickets, Nini’s dad couldn’t stop wondering if the wayfinding signs could provide clearer navigation and the types of tickets could be better explained, the ticket buying process could be much simpler. There would be less people losing their directions or wasting their time waiting in line, making the visiting experience better for everyone.

10

After reading the suggestions provided by Nini and her dad, the Director of the National Palace Museum decided to work with Audrey Tang's team, PDIS, and exchanged ideas with Audrey Tang in a video conference.

Actually, the National Development Council has a "Government Digital Service Guidelines".

Minister Tang, any idea on how the National Palace Museum can improve the tourist experience?

12

Members from the PDIS went to the National Palace Museum for an on-site survey in order to understand the service needs that visitors care most about, and Mr. Hsueh Jen from the museum explained the current situation for them.

Nice meeting you! We are from the PDIS.

Greetings! I’ll explain the current situation...

14

Oops! How do I go back to the previous page?

PDIS was divided into two groups: one to test the usability of the ticket vending machine, and the other to conduct a traffic survey from the perspective of tourists.

The wayfinding signs could really use some improvements...

16

After the PDIS members completed the fieldwork, they gathered to discuss how could this case to be improved. They then organized the collected data into a mind map and decide the theme of a collaborative meeting and invite the interested parties.

18

Please feel free to express your ideas and give suggestions!

On the day of the collaboration meeting, the PDIS team allowed all interested parties of the National Palace Museum to ask questions and express their opinions.

20

Participants expressed their opinions and elaborated on The ticket vending machines are only for the foreigners.

their concerns.

Electronic tickets? But I enjoy collecting museum ticket stubs!

22

Innovative concepts were generated by brainstorming diverse ideas at the collaborative meeting.

Ticket vending machines shall also be available for locals.

The operation of the ticket vending machines shall be improved, and ticket stubs may also be beautified.
