TERMS & CONDITIONS

On behalf of the family, I would like to welcome you to our 12th annual bull sale. If you are a past or present customer or reading our catalog for the first time we would like to thank you for your interest and support of our program.

Doug bought his first Charolais cow in 1976 with Reg Robertson and they formed R&H Cattle Co. Our roots run deep in this breed with Hunter Charolais being formed when Doug and Marianne got married. We were very proud this past summer at the Canadian Charolais Association AGM when Hunter Charolais was recognized with a forty year member award.

The bulls are on a whole herd health program and they are fed balanced TMR ration to develop them. We work with Doug Allison from Cargill on our rations. We feed these bulls to develop them to their potential and to guarantee longevity. Our breeding philosophy has remained the same for the last 40 years. We strive to produce bulls that are long made easy fleshing individuals that are structurally sound with depth of body and natural thickness. We love cattle that are free moving and know how to travel or as I like to say are “thrifty”. We are continually trying to increase the performance of our cattle without sacrificing calving ease or vigour at birth.

The Charolais premium is a real thing - we see it every fall with tan calves commanding top dollar in auction marts across the country. There is nothing more identifiable than a Charcross calf. Now is the time to try and get every pound out of your calf crop. We are without a doubt in an upswing in the market with the cowherd shrinking, calves are going to command top dollar this fall.

The bulls are available anytime for viewing before the sale. If you are unable to make the sale, we are more than happy to assist you making your purchase. Please contact us, or our very qualified sales staff, to help you assess the bulls and to make an optimal selection to achieve the goals for your operation. Your bids will be handled in a confidential and professional matter. We still absolutely encourage you to come and appraise the bulls yourself and to have a visit with us. The sale is also being broadcast using DLMS for those of you that wish to bid online. The bulls will all be videoed and these videos will be available by the middle of March.

Lastly there are a lot people that help us make this operation and sale run all year round, we’d like to extend our gratitude to them.

The Hunters

Welcome to the 12th Annual Hunter Charolais Bull Sale. This video sale in their heated facility is very comfortable and the hospitality is excellent. For over 40 years, this family has been producing Charolais bulls for the industry. With the long list of repeat customers that have been very loyal to the program, you know their product has worked. This is a family operation that is committed to agriculture and the cattle business and will work hard to make sure you are happy with the bulls you are buying. Along with their purebred herd, they have commercial cows, so they understand what works in that segment of the industry as well. Once again, this year’s offering covers a wide range of needs, from bulls that could work on your heifers, to bulls with more performance to give you the added pay weight putting you in the top sort come sale time. There is a wide range of pedigrees including some top ones from bulls they have raised, sold and retained semen to use in the program.

Have a look at the catalogue and videos online and then make the drive to Roblin to meet the family, see the bulls and view the program. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

If you can’t make it sale day, give any us or the family a call, or watch it live and bid online at www.DLMS.ca.

If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to find you bulls that are right for your program.

Sincerely,

Helge & Candace By By Livestock
