High Country was 2021 sale’s lot one bull and sold to Greg & Logan Ells at Stornoway. We sure loved him then for his mass, thickness and hair. He has passed all of those traits onto his sons. It is very easy to pick out the High Country progeny in the pen, easy doing, loads of mass and tons of hair. His progeny all have quiet dispositions and are a pleasure to work with. His damn, the Sugarland 126R cow has established one of the most productive cow families on the farm.

Being long made, smooth through his front end and square hipped, it is hard not to notice Kingsman every day when I’m in the pen. He is heavy haired and has that awesome disposition that all the High Country’s have. His mother is front pasture female with an awesome udder that seems to work with whatever we mate her too. He has a user friendly birthweight at just 87 lb and a big 205 day weight at 823. I believe that Kingsman has limitless applications for any breeding program.

Hc Kenworth 242k
One of my absolute favourite parts of Kenworth and Knockout is their no miss dam. HC Georgina 7106E is arguably one of the best cows on the farm that checks all of the boxes. 1. Outstanding conformation and foot structure. Check. 2. Flawless udder design. Check. 3. Phenotypically attractive and appealing. Check. The year we started flushing 7106, her mother at 6 yrs of age, and the grandmother at 12 yrs old, they were all in the same pasture and I thought it spoke volumes to the longevity that I believe is built into this female. Kenworth is through and through a performance bull. You will put a lot kilometers onto a truck this spring to find a bull as long made and massive in his design as Kenworth is. He maintains a smooth front end, is deep made with a huge belly. He is in the top 3% of the breed for WW and YW. We intend to pull semen on Kenworth and use him in our own program. Lt Ransom 8644
We brought Ransom in to breed heifers and to a select few cows. He is consistently siring calves that are deep made with extra dimension and rib shape with impressive hip muscling. They have great breed character and have masculine made heads that command attention as soon as you walk into the bull pen. The dispositions on the Ransom sired cattle are excellent with them being extremely mellow and easy to work with. He is in the top 4% of the breed for BW and in the top 20% of the breed on his WW and YW respectfully. Ransom’s dam is a beautifully constructed cow with a gorgeous udder. We had a handful of daughters enter into production this year and are extremely happy with the udder quality and mothering qualities they possess.

Hc Keeper 241k
You’ve got to appreciate how stout, square made and correct Kevlar is made. He has had that masculine “herd bull” look since he was a baby calf. This fella can go and head into any heifer pen around the country side and calve like a dream plus add pounds in the fall time. Heifer Approved
Lot 15 4th Gen Pld
Hc Keystone 273k
Keystone’s dam is a full sister to High Country. The Blackjack females have been some of the solid producing females around the farm for a few years. If you want to add some hip, length of body and pounds into your calf crop next year without giving up calving ease, Keystone is a definite candidate for you.

297K Lot
We bought a semen pack in the SVY Trust 6H bull in the fall on 2020 after he had commanded 123,000 dollars at the Superstar Sale. We admired him for the performance he displayed and being backed with arguably the most famous cow family in the Canadian Charolais cow herd, the Starstrucks. His progeny have awesome hair-coats, are mellow dispositioned and are displaying excellent testicular development. With limited semen available the first year, we don’t have a volume of his sons in the sale. Watch for more next year.
Kraken is without a doubt one of the nicest fronted, smoothest made bulls in the sale. You love him in his front third and how soft made and how boldly sprung he gets in his rib cage with plenty of depth of body and mass. He is square hipped and gets out and travels soundly. His dam is an extremely long made feminine cow that has a perfect udder.
Lot
The mother of Kobra is without a doubt our herdsman Travis’s favourite cow on the farm. She is a very moderate tanky made female that sure knows how to produce and get the job done. She weaned a heck of a calf for being as moderate as she is with Kobra coming in at just under a 800 lb ADJ WW. If you want to add some stretch and power into your next calf crop, have a look at Kobra. Long made, smooth fronted, nice headed, Kobra is an awesome option for any operation.

Lt International 9355 Pld
International is fast becoming one of the mainstays here at the farm. He is doing so many things right — adding soundness, foot quality, depth of body and spring of rib to his offspring. International himself is an appealing herd sire with a masculine head and balanced build. International is a pleasure to watch in motion being just so sound and free moving. We try to be extremely critical on the way our cattle travel here at the farm and International is without a doubt a step in the right direction in that aspect. We didn’t get him super early his first breeding season and because of that only had one daughter entered into production this year and we wish we had another 50 just like her – beautifully uddered and an awesome mother. His sons will calve well and put pounds into their calves.
Knoxville might be as close as a replica to his sire as we have produced this year. He is free moving, masculine made and just that “cowboy’ type of bull. His dam is one of the most consistent producing females around the farm. She has one of our top calves for this coming year, she is a sound made fault free cow.
Hc Kansas 255k
There is a lot of consistency in this cow family with the grandmother also having a feature bull in the sale as Lot 8. I think without a doubt that Kansas is the longest sided bull in the entire offering. He can sure get out and travel and is extremely sound made. He’s got a user friendly BW and exploded up to a 853 lb ADJ WW.

DC/CRJ TANK E108 P
Tank was a bull Mr. Wilgenbush and I found when we jumped into the truck in the spring of 2018 and went touring looking for bulls in Montana. We brought him into the herdbull battery as an outcross power and performance bull. He stuck out in a group of 600+ bulls, with his exceptional depth of body rib shape and in general how easy doing he was. What we weren’t expecting was how awesome his calving ease would be and how he would shorten the gestation on cows. We use him very successfully on heifers and he consistently shortens the gestation on cows a week. The vigour of his calves at birth is second to none here at the farm. His EPD spread is impressive to say the least being in the top 2% of the breed for BW, top 30% of the breed for WW and 15% of the breed for YW. His daughters are entering into production and they are ideal in their mothering ability and how their udders are constructed. We think that Tank is siring cattle that are right for the times with their unique blend of calving ease and performance.
Kruz is genetically stacked to be heifer bull supreme being a Tank out of a Ledger cow here, it isn’t getting much more predictable. His mother did a super job on him just as a two-year old and she stems from our super consistent Sugarland cow family that produced High Country. He is without a doubt more than ‘just’ a heifer bull. He is deep bodied, wide based and has an ideal head.

Hta Rocket 894f
Rocket is one of our walking herd sires here at the farm. He has an abundance of muscle and shape of body that we admired a lot in him when we decided to add him to our program. He is sound footed and great headed. There is longevity build into this guy from his dam’s side where she produced to 15 years of age at HTA Charolais. Rocket is a maternal brother to the HTA Astroid bull that has been doing such an awesome job for the HTA crew. Without a doubt this year’s set of sons is his best set yet.
Lot 37
Hc Kingdom 2151k
Easy doing, mellow disposition and a pile of performance is what comes to mind when I get thinking about Kingdom. This guy is just so solidly built and without a doubt has the ability to help elevate your weaning weights for years to come. He is in the top 25% of the breed for BW, top 15% for WW, top 10% for YW, and top 25% for the M number also. If numbers are your thing this is your bull, not just a good numbered bull he flat good period.

Jwx Downtown 7c
If you are familiar with our program you will know the Downtown bull without a doubt. I’ve been writing the same footnote on this guy for the past 6 years and it sure hasn’t changed yet. He makes them deep bodied, 2nd to none on dispositions and he adds hair all day long. The Downtown cattle have stood the test of time on their structure and foot quality. We didn’t use him in the AI program last year moving onto other genetics so this may be your last opportunity to add a Downtown from our program.
Lot 41
Hc Kitchner 2126k
Polled
You just find this bull every day when you are out in the pen. Thick curly hair coat, big bellied easy doing and just so long made. He is good footed and free moving. If you’re looking to add some hair and make your steer calves easy doing and loose hided, I think Kitchener is the bull for you.
Ref Sire
DCR MR DUAL-THREAT D112
Dual-Threat has been a mainstay here for a lot of years both walking and in the AI program. His calving ease/ vigour at birth are awesome and once they get growing they sure don’t look back. His sons have always been long made and ‘Thrifty’. We have a lot of his daughters in production, they milk hard and consistently out produce themselves.

Jwx Hard Ball 955h
Hardball’s dam was a major selling point when we purchased Hardball in the spring of 2021. She has been a stable of the Wilgenbusch program for years and been highly consistent producing high seller’s year in and year out. Hardball a long smooth made individual that adds hair and performance to his offspring.
