For boys and girls entering grades JK - 2 Join us for a week of travels around the world right here at PDS. Your adventure will let you explore the art, music, and foods of several countries. Each day we will focus on a different country as we learn a little history, create an art project, and cook a tasty treat native to that country. FIesta fun

June 15–19 or June 22-26

For boys and girls entering JK – 2

Let’s get ready for a fiesta and learn about arts and crafts from the Mexican culture. How do kids in Mexico celebrate? We will practice our Spanish while we make papel picado, cascarones, maracas, and piñatas. We will even paint a mural, all in preparation for a fiesta. We will listen to mariachi music while we prepare for the fiesta and sing some traditional songs like “La Cucaracha” and “Cielito Lindo”. Our week will end with a Mexican meal (from El Mezcal) and of course, we will break a piñata. Make sure to send an old shirt or art smock because we will be getting messy!

Transform into the illustrator who sketches out the words. Slip the editor’s hat on and make sure that all the t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted. Then put it all together when you become the publisher. At the end of this camp you will have your own hardback book and have it available for others to read and/or order their own copy online!
