We are so proud of the fantastic items our Auction Commitee was able to secure this year. You will find many creative items and one-of-a-kind experiences. This online auction would not be possible without the kind donations and unwavering support of all our
donors. The proceeds from the PDS March Mania Online Auction will go to support financial aid, professional development for faculty, and campus security. The PDS boys, as well as the faculty and staff, truly appreciate your support! TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGISTER TO BID
You must first login to the auction site at pdsmarchmania.org. Please register with your real name, but feel free to be creative and keep your identity a mystery by creating a unique username for bidding. All bidders must be 21 years of age.
RESTRICTED ITEMS
Some items are only available for members of the PDS community: PDS current and former parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, Board of Trustees, and alumni. If a PDS flag is shown just before the description, then this item is restricted to the PDS community.
VALUES
Values of the items are donors’ estimates and are not warranted by PDS for tax purposes or general use.
MINIMUM BIDS
When placing a bid please note if there is a minimum bid requirement. Many auction items will have minimum bids assigned that are not listed in this catalog.
BIDDING INCREMENTS
When placing bids on items under $100, you will need to increase your bid in $5.00 increments. For items $100-$500, bidding will increase in $15.00 increments. For items $500$1000, bidding will increase in $50.00 increments, and all items over $1,000, bidding will increase in $150.00 increments.
PROXY BIDS/AUTOMATIC BIDDING
When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the item. The other bidders don’t know your maximum bid. The auction software will place bids on your behalf using the automatic bidding increment amount, which is based on the current high bid. It will bid only as much as necessary to make sure that you remain the high bidder, or to meet the reserve price, up to your maximum amount. As a bidder, enter the highest amount you are willing to pay for an item. The highest bidder at the close of the auction earns the right to purchase it at the agreed price. You are only going to have to pay one-bid increment more than the highest opposing bidder. Of course, if someone outbids your maximum bid, then you will not win the auction. If another bidder places the same maximum bid or higher, we’ll notify you via email so you can place another bid. Your maximum bid is kept confidential until it is exceeded by another bidder.
CONDOMINIUM/VACATION HOME CONDITIONS
Arrangements for use of a condominium/vacation home or other privately-owned property is subject to agreement between the donor and the winning bidder. Specifications in the brochure and/or on the auction site are those made by the donor. PDS holds no responsibility for their representation. Any cleaning or amenities charges made by the Condo Associations will be borne by the purchaser as such charges are variable. All condominium/ vacation home purchases are non-transferable.
ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS
PDS has made every attempt to describe the items and services correctly, but everything is sold “as is.” Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donors. The terms are not negotiable. Please read the specifications and limitations carefully as described on the auction website. By his or her purchase, the purchaser waives any claims for liability against PDS or the donor of property or service, nor is the donor responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the utilization of property or services sold.
STAGGERED CLOSINGS
Please note on the last day, there will be staggered closing times that will depend upon the category. This will enable you to watch items in different categories and give you ample bidding opportunities. These closing times will be clearly posted on the website during the auction. We will make every effort to keep items from closing at the same time in the event you are managing multiple bids at a time.
WINNING BIDS
You will know you have won an item when you receive an email from ‘The March Mania Online Auction’ after the auction closes. In the event that you have not received an invoice by the afternoon of the day following the close of the auction, please contact Lee Rantzow at 901-842-4613. Payments are due in full at the close of the auction. The preferred method of payment is to pay on the auction website using a credit card. All auction items must be redeemed by March 2015 unless otherwise noted in the item description. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. There will be no exchanges or refunds of items by the donors except where specified. Items are not transferable. Please pick up and pay for unpaid items from the Auction Showroom. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What happens if there are technical difficulties with the website during the sale closing? If technical difficulties occur during the closing of a March Mania Online Auction sale, we reserve the right to extend the closing times/dates as needed.

Can the March Mania Online Auction cancel an item once the bidding has already started? The March Mania Online Auction reserves the right to: cancel, suspend, extend or reschedule an individual item.
How do I pay for an item I’ve won? Winners receive an email notification that they have won the auction. Login to your auction account, click on Won Items on the left-hand menu. The site will display a list of auctions that you have won. Click on the “Pay with Direct Payment” link beside each of the won items to make a payment. Then look for the “Click Here to Proceed” button to the right of the PayPal logo. A PayPal account is not required, you can pay directly with your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card through the PayPal gateway without creating an account. We prefer you use the Direct Payment method, but if you would preferto pay with a check, please contact Kim Bridgforth in the Advancement office 901-842-4606.
I’m concerned about my safety online. What do you do to protect me? The March Mania Online Auction takes your personal online security very seriously. We will accept checks for all items if you’d rather not pay online. Our online payment runs through PayPal, which is a secure transaction. Can I raise my bid, even if I am the highest bidder? Yes, you can. Simply return to the auction item’s page, and place a new bid. Your proxy bid will be increased, but your existing bid will not increase unless you are outbid by another participant. Am I bidding on the item in the photo or the description of the item? Always bid on the item description. Only use the photographs as a guide. For demonstration purposes, equipment may be joined and photographed together. Do not assume a lot consists of more than one item simply because they are pictured together. You are bidding on the item as described in the catalog. For instance, a supply cabinet does not include supplies unless specified. Please take the time to read the descriptions. Am I notified if I am outbid? If you have been outbid you will be notified by email. To quickly review your bids and see if you have won you can utilize the “Current Bids” or “Won Items” feature by logging into the website. How do I know If I won? If you are the winning bidder of an item, your username will appear next to “High Bidder” in the bidding screens and item details for that item. How can I view all bids I’ve submitted? To quickly review your bids, login to the website, and click on “Current Bids.” Should I bid while the auction is closing? Many of our bidders begin bidding actively as items
