Can you make a child smile?

We’re looking for people with a warm heart, a love of children and a little spare time to volunteer at the Children’s Centre in Peacehaven. Does that sound like you? If you’d like to join our volunteer team our next six-sessions online induction course will start May/June but if you miss that one, there will be another soon after. The course includes sessions on: safeguarding, an introduction to the Early Years foundation stage and volunteer rights. Once you have completed it you will have the confidence and skills to step into your role. Our volunteers keep the community connected by running much needed groups: First Steps 6 months - 2 years at 9:30 am and Babytime 0-12 months 11:15 am on Mondays and Just Play 0-5 years 1:00 pm on Wednesdays. The volunteers set up messy and sensory play areas and delight the tots with their stories and singing. They also run a Buggy walk group 9:30 am at the Big Park in Peacehaven on Wednesday mornings and support crèche's. Without volunteers, these thriving groups wouldn’t exist. A parent said: ‘Babytime has been a lifesaver for me and my son, I had felt so isolated until I came. The volunteers are so kind and welcoming, we love coming.
