WHY IS THE JEWISH RACE OF PEOPLE GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE?
Well lets start with Abraham of the Bible. There is a spiritual aspect to God’s promise to Abraham. God promised Abraham and his family to be the father of many nations. His grace was to be given to all mankind through one seed Jesus Christ. The Messiah descended from Abraham. Abraham and his 2 sons Isaac and Jacob produced the chosen people to work for God. Israel was given to Abraham and his descendants forever. God’s plan for Israel was to be a holy nation, a people separated from other nations dedicated to obeying and serving the lord. The land is still deeded by God to Israel. A descendant of David an ancient king of Israel will one day rule all the earth from Jerusalem in peace and righteousness. Jesus Christ is the descendant of David. In the Bible Deuteronomy 14:1-2 tells us we are the children of the lord, your God. For thow art a holy people unto the Lord thy God and the lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself above all the nations that are upon the earth. Israel survival and life has been based upon the covenants God made to his people. The comfort and hope built into these covenants have sustained the Jews through some of the darkest days human history has ever seen. A covenant is a promise given here it refers to God and Abraham. Abraham’s 2 sons Isaac and Jacob were also given the covenant when Abraham died. The chosen people in the old testament were called Israelites. The jewish people have always been persecuted and were involved in bitter conflicts and have been the object of fierce hatred. Israel became a state in 1948 and established as a nation. Jesus Christ is about ready to again make a return to ur earth. When Jesus came the first time ever though he had a right to the throne he came as their messiah. He was rejected by his own people. He used that rejection which led to his crucifixion at Calvary to provide a way of salvation for those who would believe in him. He will return again soon to receive his church. When he returns the 3rd time he will be coming with great anger to punish the world. Folks our loving peaceful savior is bringing a great wrath and punishment to our world. Pray folks you won’t be here to go through this pain and sorrow. Thank you.

Starr Young Hardee, 51, of Arcadia, FL, passed away June 17, 2016 in Punta Gorda, FL. Starr was born June 16, 1965 in Baltimore, MD, moving to Arcadia in 1987 from Baltimore. Starr enjoyed horseback riding, target shooting, traveling, and dancing.. Star was of the christian faith. Survivors are, her husband Edward L. Hardee, Arcadia FL, two sons; Jason L. Hardee, Arcadia, FL, John David Hardee, Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Mindy (Michael) Morgan, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Raven Hardee Wininger, Port Charlotte, FL; her mother, Cheryl N. Feiling, Greenville, TN; two brothers, James Dean "Jamie" Young, Baltimore, MD and Christopher Young, also of Maryland; three sisters, Melissa (Troy) Kilby, Punta Gorda, FL, Loretta Lynn Young, Baltimore, MD, Treasa Young, Panama City, FL; four grandchildren, Mason Honeybee Morgan, Corbyn Wininger, Keegan Wininger, Christopher Wininger, and aunt Peggy Young of Leesburg, FL., Starr is preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Young. Eddy Martin, 79, of Arcadia, FL, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 17, 2016. He was born April 15, 1937, in Elberton, Georgia. He was promoted by CSX Railroad to Roadmaster position in Arcadia in 1970 and made Arcadia his permanent home. Later he was offered the position of Division Engineer, but having fallen in love with Arcadia and its people from day 1, , he turned down the promotion. Eddy began working for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad in 1957 which later became CSX Transportation. Upon retirement from CSX, he helped with the startup of the Seminole Gulf Railway and worked there for 10 years. He worked in the railroad industry for over 45 years. As a sideline he worked as a railroad contractor building small rail yards for various related industries. Eddy enjoyed fishing, taking care of his animals, gardening, building things, his forge, and riding around on his golf cart with his faithful companion, Sammie. He loved grilling and hosting family gatherings.
To Eddy, family was everyrthing. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family; Grace, his wife of 53years; children, AnneMarie(Richard)Longenecker, MaryLyn (Jeff) Lee, Alexander (Melissa) Martin; grandchildren, Richie, Sarah, and Joshua Longenecker, Steven (Kristina) Manus and Christopher Manus, Nicholas Martin; great grandchildren, Cayden Manus and Charleigh Longenecker. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Faye Martin, and granddaughter, Amanda Grace Longenecker. ' Visitation will be conducted from 10:00AM until 11:00AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joseph Longenecker officiating. Burial will follow at Josua Creek Cemetery. Good Ole Boys Gary & Me “I”
Gary is 5 days older than me, so I call him the old man. Back in the days of riding home on bicycles after Creature Feature, we were only about 13 or 14 years old. In those days when you turned 15 years old you could get a motorcycle permit to ride motorcycles. When we got to 15 that’s what we did, we got motorcycles. My papa (my granddad on my mother’s side) helped me get a Riverside 175 from Montgomery Wards. Yea, that was a long time ago. That motorcycle had aluminum handlebars and if, I mean when it fell over it always bent something. However, it was good transportation and I sure do thank my papa for his help. He was a great man. Gary bought a Honda 50 moped type bike. I am not real sure why, I need to ask him again so I will know. But, when we road down the road side by side, our heads were even. We could talk just fine. He has always been very tall and well not me so much. But the motorcycles increased our area quite a bit. Now we could go all over town and country anytime we wanted. These bikes had lights. That made a lot of difference, a lot of difference. We could stay out anytime now. We could even go to other towns with these things. The only problem was Gary’s bike would only go 35 miles per hour. That’s right, 35 mph max. But, that didn’t stop Gary. One time he rode that thing all the way down highway 31 to Ft. Myers just to see his girlfriend. A good 40 miles at 35 mph. I should have loaned him mine. I’m not sure why I didn’t. I am sure I would have if I could have. That’s wanting to see a girl real bad. What’s funny is, I think he did that several times. It wasn’t long and soon we had cars. We turned 16 years old and had our own vehicles. I had an old 1962 Oldsmobile and he had an old Pontiac. We upgraded as soon as we could, but that did take a little while. Gary spent his last couple of years of high school at a military academy. I don’t remember the name, I just remember picking him up sometimes on holidays and summer vacations. We always had a blast. From getting his truck stuck in the sand to racing on the streets. In high school, I had a another friend named Gary Smith. Him and I became good friends as well, so now I had two Gary’s as friends. Gary Smith and I always had guns. We both had western gun belts and practiced drawing our pistols from the holsters. One day, Gary, Gary and Me “I”, went down to Horse Creek to shoot our guns. Well I had a pistol, Gary Smith had a pistol and Gary Frierson had a rifle. I can still remember what happened that day as if it was yesterday. Gary S. and I were walking along the creek bottom and Gary F. was walking along the top of the creek bed when all of a sudden Gary S. turns to me and says, “watch this”. He turns around, pulls his gun, points it up at Gary F. and starts shooting. I’m just looking at him. I am frozen in place. I look up at Gary F. and he is frozen as well looking at Gary S. firing a gun at him. I look back and I see smoke coming out of Gary S.’s gun. I look back at Gary F. and he is still standing there frozen. I think Gary S. got off all 6 shots before we realized he was shooting blanks. Now what if Gary F. had turned and shot back? Gary F. had real bullets in his gun. Can you just imagine? I can still see that whole thing as it went down. Thank God Gary F. didn’t shoot back. Thank God… Gary S. promised to never do that again, but I don’t think we ever went shooting again with Gary S. That was just one adventure, there were plenty. I don’t know to this day how we all survived. I guess God just saw our youth and kept us alive for a reason. I sure do miss my days as a teenager. And I’m sure glad God saw fit to let us live. Thank you God…
