What Is The Fertile Crescent Taled About In The Bible?
This area was fought over by many different races of people because of its rich soil made by the twin rivers Tigris and Euphrates. Civilizations were built all along this region called Mesopotamia. This land was the swampy delta from the twin rivers. The people built canals to irrigate the dusty plains and parched soil and sustain the many cities springing up. The Tigris and Euphrates rivers along with the Nile river in Africa were very important in building the high rise pyramids at Giza and transporting the heavy granite stones for other ziggurats. Mesopotamia means land between 2 rivers. It was in Mesopotamia or the fertile crescent and Egypt that civilization began. This area was extremely rich and marshy. The 2 rivers flooded every year and often changed course leaving vast swamps and rich soil. Folks this land between the 2 rivers is the nation of Syria and Iraq today where all the fighting is going on. What happened to this land folks it’s desert now. This is where the Bible started folks, with Adam & Eve and then Abraham who lived in the ancient city of Haran which is in this fertile Crescent in Syria. Abraham Isaac Jacob and Joseph these are the patriarchs of the Hebrew nation. Folks there are all kinds of old testament maps in the back of your Bibles check these countries out for yourselves. This is where God entered the picture directing Abraham to the Promise Land the nation of Israel today. Folks there is so much history to be learned about our creator God and the people who chose to be be priests for him. God told Abraham to set out for a new land called Canaan. He did not go alone his nephew Lot went with him. Things will be explained to you. Folks even the river jordan flows through the desert valley in the world. The rivers source comes from the mountains of Syria. The river twists over 200 miles to the dead sea 1200 fet below sea level. Interesting isn’t it? He attended the Peace River Mennonite Church. Winfred is survived by his parents, Brian and Charity Campbell of Arcadia, FL; brothers; Jadin W., Lyndon E., B. Jared;sisters; Alyssa F., Sharita H., all at home; paternal grandparents, Boyd and Velma Campbell of Arcadia, FL; maternal grandparents, Wilmer and Sylvia Weaver of Elverson, PA; paternal step great-grandmother Reba Sensenig of Ephrata, PA; maternal greatgrandfather David Hostetter of Ephrata, PA; and maternal great-grandmother Alta Weaver of Elverson, PA. A visitation was held Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and the funeral service followed on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Both were held at the Peace River Mennonite Church, Arcadia, FL. Drook Malone of Washington D.C.; sidter Edith Johnson (Herman Kemper) Wallace of Tampa, L, and sister Barbara Johnson (Roger) Krace of Greenvile, TN;also four granchildren, four greatgrandchildren and 3 greatgreat-granchildren. She was preceded in seath ny her husband and parents and also by; two sisters, Eula Johnson (Hug)Mckay and Lucille Johnson (Horace) Wilhoit, a brother Maynard (Marcine) Johnson all of Greenville, TN Burial was at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Wabash county, in October of 2015. Jill enjoyed painting and reading and writing poetry. She attended Oak Hill Baptist Church, and Pine Level Methodist Church. She was of the Baptist faith. Jill is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Sam W. Edwards JR, two sons, Sam W. (Heather) Edwards 111 and Shawn (Jennifer) Edwards both of Arcadia, FL, eight grandchildren, two brothers; Walter Cole and John Cole both of Ft. Lying there on your back was just plain miserable. Even with my friends coming in I was still having issues with the anchors. Every morning they would xray my neck and bring me back to my bed. The stuff between the vertebrae was just not healing. The doctor would tell me to make sure I was lying still, that my neck was not getting any better. Looking back, I am sure it was my fault. I just couldn’t lay still. I even remember curling a small bar bell to keep my left arm strong. What an idiot. I just didn’t get it. My neck was broke. I could have been paralyzed. How did I get this far without being paralyzed? I am sure God must have had a hand in that. I’m sure I did everything I could to mess it up. The floor I was on in Sarasota must have been the place for all the broken necks to go because I remember when another boy that was only 19 was brought in. They had him on a big silver wheel. He had broken his neck in 7 places they told me. They could spin him around and around. He could be turned any way they needed for him to be. Unfortunately, he was paralyzed from the neck down. It was terrible. They told me he had a diving accident as I did. That he had dove into the Peace River in Nocatee. That he had hit his head on a rock. OMG!!! Another diving accident. Again, I still didn’t get it. I had a diving accident but I wasn’t paralyzed. Sure, I couldn’t pick my right arm up but I could feel it and move my hand and fingers. I just couldn’t pick it up. But somehow, I just didn’t understand that that could be me. That I could have been paralyzed. Even though the Doctors had told me that if I had looked down, even once that day at the lake, if my buddy hadn’t put his hands on my neck and held my head up straight, I would have been. I just… didn’t…. seem.. to get it. Why did I make it and he didn’t? Is there a reason that I am still alive? Is there a reason that I’m not paralyzed? Two other people had come into the same hospital. Two other people had broken their necks by diving. One is dead and the other paralyzed. Why am I the only one? Only God knows that answer. But over the years I have not been the only one that has asked God that question………….
