In The Beginning “God’s” Creation
Volume II: Revelation 1:14-16 tells us that our God and his son Jesus if seen would have faces bright as the sun. Their eyes flames of fire, feet like burnished brass and hair white as snow. What is their character like? The character of both God and the son is that of spiritual holiness, righteousness and absolute perfection. Their main characters are love, giving, serving, helping and sharing. Their characters are not of the way of mankind of lust, greed, coveting, vanity, selfishness, strife, competition, violence, destruction, envy, jealousy, bitterness. “Wow” what a difference folks. God’s nature is the way of peace, love, justice, mercy, joy and happiness. God loves the word and the word loves God and obeyed him completely. They are in total agreement. Also two can’t walk together in peace except one be the leader in control as God is the leader. This way of life became God’s law. Law is a code of conduct or relationship between many people. The presence of law requires a penalty for its violation. Folks even when God created Angels he was in supreme command. His laws were handed down with Moses at Mt. Sinai for the people. God made these laws for the guidance of humans conduct. Folks that’s why God made 2 great commandments above all the rest. Love your God with all your heart and mind and love your neighbor as thyself. These in turn are subdivided into the 10 Commandments. These laws God made produce peace and happiness in cooperation with obedience to them. Again as Genesis 1:1 tells us, In the beginning was God. This originally was written by Moses as God inspired him. It was in Hebrew. The Hebrew name for God is Elohim. Why were angels created first before anything else? Angers were created to e ministers, agents and helpers to be servants to the living God. Jesus is superior to the angels. All God’s angels worship Christ. We as humans were created a little lower than the angels, Hebrews 2:7. Angels are invisible, immortal spirit beings with power and knowledge superior to human beings. Angels are messengers. Angels can manifest themselves to human beings in the form of men. God assigns angels responsibilities. Then we have archangels over the angels. Michael & Gabriel, these archangels are of high rank. Some people will scoff at this writing and won’t believe but angels inhabited this earth before the creation of man. The book of Job mentions some statements to this. Folks angels were created with power of thought, of decision and of choice else they would have no character. More on the creation and what God’s plan is for us in the future. Thank you.

“JUNIOR” Chapter 7 Finally Friday came. Not soon enough for me, but too soon for Junior. All day long he walked around like he was going to die. All day long he refused to say anything to me. Not one word, not one single word. He just walked around talking to himself. Yes, I tried to hear what he was saying but all I got was mumbling. No good words to make out. Only a few words like trouble, fear and fight. But the words that I heard the most were die and taken away. He was just talking crazy now, just plum crazy. Junior was a gentle man. I never saw him get into a fight. Heck, I never even heard him yell at anybody but us kids, and then only when we went the wrong way in the woods. Around dark, things started to really get interesting. I agree that it might have been just me, the lights in the house seemed brighter and the light in the shed out back was flickering like it had a short in it. There was a strong wind blowing just enough to make the tin on the pump house flap around. The last time I followed Junior it was late at night after everybody went to sleep, so I don’t know why I was expecting him to go any sooner. I never thought that Junior would slip out without calling me. But, about 10:30 I started looking for him. Yep, he was gone. He had already slipped out without me. That dirty scoundrel. Boy was I mad. Why didn’t he wait for me? Why didn’t he just tell me he didn’t want me to go along. Or, maybe he was just afraid of letting me go with him. I don’t know the reason for sure, maybe he had a good one. But I was so mad, I’m not sure any explanation would have made me happy. You would think that I would just go back to bed, right? Ahhh, no. There was no way I was going back to bed now. Besides even if I did, I sure wouldn’t be able to sleep. So you know what I did? I decided to go looking for him. I remembered that he had went in the woods near the pump house. After looking and looking, I found the little opening that he had went into. Slowly I pushed back the limbs and started in. Was I scared? You better believe I was scared. Matter of fact it must have been fear that made me think that someone was following me. I kept looking back over my shoulder, but I’m not sure I could have seen much anyway. It was really dark. I mean really dark. I could barely make out the trail. But the feeling of someone following me just would not go away. Then I began to think I was hearing something behind me. You know that feeling that something is not right, but you’re not sure if its real or just in your mind. I just could not shake that feeling. I was thinking I was a long way from where I had seen Junior and his buddies. It should be a long way to go to get to where they were. Or at least that was what I was thinking anyway. By now my heart was in my throat. I was getting so paranoid. I was beginning to hear all kinds of things now. The sounds were not only limbs moving, but now I was hearing my own heart beating. Or I hope it was mine. But now I was beginning to think I was having trouble breathing. You know you would think that you would be able to hear a pin drop late at night out in the woods. But not that night for sure. Then I began to think that it might be better if I got down on the ground and started crawling. I mean how much farther could it be. This trail had to end sometime. Right? But there was no light ahead, no sign of anybody in front of me. Just that feeling of something right behind me. I was beginning to think I was going to pass out when…

Edward M. Albritton, age 73, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Lake Placid, FL. Ed was born in Arcadia, FL on July 30, 1943 to the late Wallace and Wylene Zeigler Albritton. Ed was of the Protestant faith. Ed graduated from DeSoto High School, Class of 1961. Ed then attended Manatee Jr. College before enlisting into the Navy in May of 1964. In August he married the love of his life Sharon McLeod and located to NAS Jacksonville, FL for Aircraft Electrical training. After his discharge from the Navy in 1968 he moved with family to Sarasota, FL. and worked for General Telephone Company for a total of 31 years. Retiring in June of 1999 he and wife Sharon enjoyed the good life of retirement. RVing the USA and visiting a total of 38 states, playing golf and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sharon McLeod Albritton of Lake Placid, FL., one son Wallace (Sheri) Albritton of Fort Myers, FL., one brother Terry (Maryanne) Albritton of Bonifay, FL., one sister Kay (William) Stewart of Dozier, AL, three grandchildren Alexa L. Albritton, Devin D. Albritton and Conner M. Albritton and many extended family. Edward was preceded in death by his son Edward William Albritton and parents. A visitation of family and friends will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia Graveside services will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00am at Owens Cemetery next to Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, 2865 SW County Rd. 661,Arcadia. Leslie Roger Bumgarner, 89, passed away July 19, 2017, in Arcadia, Fl. Roger was born November 15, 1927, in St. Charles, Illinois, to parents Leslie G. and Caroline Bumgarner. Roger was a lieutenant in the US Navy, active during WWII. Following a medical discharge, Roger partook of many vocations and hobbies; from master plumber to newspaper editor, then became the owner of a successful series of motorcycle stores. Upon moving to Arcadia in 1979 with plans to retire, Roger found himself entering the hospitality business as owner of the HiWay Motel until 1995. As a lifetime member and former commander of American Legion K Post 11, Roger was a born leader and organizer. Roger truly cared about our country, and his fellow veterans, and it was because of his actions that the DeSoto County Veteran’s Honor Guard saw its inception. He, along with the steadfast and devoted Guard members lead and performed over 300 funeral services, as well as flag presentations, innumerable memorials, marched in many parades, and was also known to present awards in academic achievement to DeSoto county schools. Four children survive Roger: Kathleen (Steven) Wilson, Thomas (Constance) Bumgarner, Timothy Bumgarner, and Susan Daniel. He is further survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six nieces, and three nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Lou, whom he was married to for 58 years, his only brother, Jerry (Janice) Bumgarner, one son, Michael, and one granddaughter, Paula. Roger and Lou’s urns will be interred at the Veteran’s National Cemetery in Sarasota, on what would have been his 90th birthday, at 10:00 A.M. Barbara Jean Lewis, age 82 of Arcadia, Florida passed away on Friday July 21, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia. Barbara was born on January 22, 1935 in Washington D.C. she lived in Avondale, Maryland and Boca Raton FL. Barbara has been a resident of Arcadia for the last 20 years and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara had an avid love for animals and also enjoyed her plants, musicals, television and most of all spending time with her f amily. She is survived by her sons, Hal (Jan) Lewis of Arcadia, FL and Alan (Donna Lynn) Lewis of Boynton Beach, FL.; daughter Dawn Begley of Arcadia, FL; sister Joyce (Mac) McKewen of Jupiter, FL; five grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and many extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held on August 12, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 W Oak Street, Arcadia, FL beginning at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to Tidewell Hospice. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Arcadia’s Ponger-KaysGrady Funeral Home. Thomas “Rip” House was born on April 26, 1946 in Americus, Georgia to his parents Jack Benjamin and Juanita (Royals) House. He passed away on July 25, 2017 in Arcadia, Florida at the age of 71. Rip is survived by his mother Juanita House; daughter Brandy Nicole Roberts; grandchildren Brittany, Blake, and Clay Roberts; sister Mitzi Shipman; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Rip is preceded in death by his father and 1 brother. Rip enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Donnie Faye is preceded in death by her loving husband, Culbert Steve Parrott. Donnie was born and raised in Nocatee and moved to Jacksonville in 1965 where she met her husband. She enjoyed being a housewife, babysitting for family and friends, listening to western and gospel music, watching western and musical movies, and most of all, spending time with her beloved dog Priscilla.
