Why America Can’t Ignore The Country Of Israel.
VOL 1 – We all know the Bible traces history back to Abraham, the Father and beginning of the Jewish race. Israel is composed mostly of Jews, Christians and Muslims. The Arab people, Muslims see that they are the children of Abraham’s first son Ishmael. Jewish people trace their heritage through the 2nd son, Isaac. Christians see themselves as spiritual children from Abraham’s faith in God. Israel is a trade route to Africa, Asia and Europe. No other people have been dispersed and scattered among the nations of the world and then regathered to their ancestral homeland. Folks according to the Bible, the historical records of Israel tells us about our God. It also tells us about a chosen people, a promised land and a long awaited Messiah. In the predictions of its prophets, we find out future. Bad blood in the Mideast flows from generation to generation. Folks there seems to be no end to the rivalry of Ishmael and Isaac. This conflict will affect all of us folks. God said to Abraham, I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you. Many of most arguments state that Ishmael was born in the home of Abraham and Sarah but his mother was not Sarah but her handmaiden, an Egyptian woman named Hagar. Later in life Sarah finally conceived Isaac but much conflict and jealousies happened between the 2 sons. Isaac was the rightful blood line but the Arab people disagree on this. The Jewish people were chosen by God for a difficult mission. God gave them the gift of the promised land and the visible evidence of his presence. His intent to use the chosen people, they were called, not only to know God but to give birth to the Messiah. One of the most important things Jesus did was to link the events of his death burial resurrection and the giving of his spirit. Israel celebrates 4 holy days a year. The first 3 of these holy gatherings are 3 successive days of the first month of Israel’s religious calendar. The first month together with the first 3 harvest feasts celebrate Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. The Passover, the date the people celebrate their escape from death by the Death Angel. The feast of unleavened bread begins on the day immediately after Passover. Jesus was in the grave. This feast lasted 7 days. On the next day, the day after the Sabbath, they celebrate a festival of first fruits. This harvest celebrated Christ’s resurrection, who now is the first fruits. The 4th and last holy day are separated from the first 3 by 50 days. It is called the Festival of Weeks in Hebrew and Shavuoth in Greek Pentecost. Folks pray for Israel for God will bless those who do and curse those who try to destroy them. I will have another message in the future. Thank you.

Good Ole Boys
Memories of my grandparents are very strong still to this day. I believe it has made me who I am, maybe even how I think. But for sure it has made me aware of how my grandchildren will remember me. And as they grow up, I realize that I want them to think of me as I did of my granddaddy. Even the name I continued on, they call me granddaddy as I did mine. Sometimes I just look and look at the pictures of us and think, where did all that time go. My youngest grandson is now 19. My only granddaughter is 20 and in her second year of college. What has happened? When did this happen? It is almost like I missed it, until I take out the pictures. My wife has always taken pictures. Yes we would always complain too, until we got them back and started looking at them. How did they get grown so fast? Trying to remember them as little children is getting harder and harder. Like the first fish caught, the first shot of a gun and first driving of a car. Oh my goodness, what a ride all that was. I tried to be there at every one of those things. We are so proud of all of them. We have two older grandsons. Both of them have graduated already and working and making their own livings. One is married and has our first great granddaughter. Wow! The two youngest are still living with their parents but I’m sure not for too much longer. When people talk about their children they always say the youngest was different. Well I can’t argue with that. All I can say is that even today, when I go to my doctor and he looks at my nose and says, “you know your nose is broke right?”, I always have to tell him how my youngest grandson and I were playing basketball and I was trying to stop the jump and his head came back and hit me in the nose. As tears were pouring down my face I asked him if my nose was broken and he said laughingly yes. I ran to the mirror and was surprised that it didn’t look like it. But the next doctor visit proved me wrong and him right. But I still brag about how good he is at basketball and how proud I am that it was my nose he broke. The first fish my granddaughter caught was supposed to be my grandson’s, but he wanted a sandwich and handed her the pole. I still remember her looking up at me and saying, “granddaddy my pole is acting funny”. I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. Teaching my oldest grandson how to swim was just as real as if it happened yesterday. He wanted to swim under water, not on top of the water so we took him to the lake. In the pool it was easy, but in the lake, not so much. First time he came up he said, “granddaddy it’s too dark under there”. It was then, that he decided to learn how to swim on top…

Keith Allen Carlton, age 58, of Arcadia, FL, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Alva, FL after completing a 25k (15 mile) race. Keith was born April 29, 1958 in Key West, FL. He lived the majority of his life in Arcadia, moving back with his wife and children in 1992 from Atlanta, GA. Keith graduated from DeSoto High School, Class of 1976. He graduated from Warner Southern College, Class of 1997. Keith has been the Art Teacher at DeSoto Middle School since 2003 and began his teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher at Memorial Elementary. He has been cross-country coach at DeSoto High School since 2004 and just added a Middle School team this last year. He has been blessed to work in both of his passions – Art and Running. Keith loved running and passed away doing something he enjoyed so much. Keith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was active in the Praise and Worship Team and was involved in the church’s overall ministry. He enjoyed gardening, and sharing his artistic talents with the youth of the school and the church.

Frank C. Kinsman, JR Frank was born on January 7, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. His father Dr. Frank C. Kinsman (d) was the local community physician and his mother Marie (Gibbons) had been a nurse and housewife with strong commitment to the local catholic church community. Frank married “the girl next door,” Martha (Welch) White (divorced), and they had three daughters Amy Peterson, Kathryn Heath, and Beth Feeler. Frank married Jane A. Duffy (divorced) and has one surviving brother Richard T Kinsman, Arcadia, FL. Frank died December 8, 2016 in Arcadia, Florida as the result of a short illness.
Frank graduated from Regis High School, Eau Claire, WI in 1953 and Wisconsin State College, Eau Claire, WI with a Bachelor of Science in 1957. Frank, at age 14, was the youngest union saxophone musician in state of Wisconsin. His passion for music and acting, he was also a member of the National Thespian Society, where the cornerstones to his illustrious career in the news broadcasting industry.
Calvin Leonard Myrbo, 91, of Arcadia, Ewart Russell, affectionately known as “Cleveland”, was born on December 24, 1936, in Florida, ascended into heaven on DeBamboo, Jamaica, to the late Harry and Viola cember 8. He was born on February 18, Russell. While there, he attended Bethel All Age 1925 in Underwood, Minnesota, and School. From a young age, Ewart understood and took pride in his familial ties, after growing moved to Arcadia from Wisconsin 21 up with ten siblings. He went on to start a famyears ago. Cal earned a Ph.D. in English at the University of Minnesota and went on to serve as Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, retiring in 1988. With his wife Thelma he enjoyed traveling throughout the country (from Key West to the Pacific Northwest) in their motor home visiting children and grandchildren,
Cal was a woodworker in his spare time and rode his bicycle into his eighties. He was a member of the Community Evangelical Free Church in Platteville and attended Calvary Baptist while in Arcadia.
In 1959 Frank moved his young family to Columbus, OH and worked as a radio journalist for WCOL. It was in 1960 when he was hired by WKNR in Detroit, MI as a news radio announcer that Frank discovered his talent in the newly burgeoning television and radio news market. By 1962 he was recognized by the renowned industry leaders at KMOX TV and Radio in St. Louis, MO and he was announcing television and radio news on the Bob Hyland Talk Show and producing Harey Carey Cardinals baseball. In 1967 he made a break for the big news market at WTOP TV and Radio in Washington, DC. He was employed by General Electric BroadcastingPost/Newsweek as a White House correspondent and covered such events as Vietnam War protests and the Watergate break-in.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 29 years, Thelma Vickery Myrbo, of ArcaKeith was a devoted and loving husband dia; two sons, Chuck (Julie) of St. and passionate family man above all else Charles, Minnesota, and Craig (Debra) and enjoyed the quality time that they Myrbo, of Madison, Wisconsin; a shared together. Through this union, they conceived 8 children: his sons Orville, Owen, Steve, Hugh, Chris, and Jason, as well as his daughters Marcia and Marvet. Ewart migrated to the U.S. in 1972 at the age of 35 in the hopes of creating a better life for his family. Upon his arrival in Arcadia, Florida, he began working as a farmhand before continuing his skills in masonry and construction. It wasn’t until 1987 when he was reunited with his family in Florida. It is often said that there is only one true happiness in life, to love and be loved. And if this is true, there is no doubt that Ewart led a full life. Anyone who was blessed with his presence would notice his upbeat affinity for life. He was a man who prided himself on both honesty and integrity, and remained optimistic all the way through his final days here on Earth. While here, he could be seen lighting up any room with his radiant smile and funny personality, or enjoying a game of dominoes or cricket. His love for music was often translated through his vibrant dancing abilities. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. In 2007, Ewart attended a social function where he met Bessie, whom he went on to marry in 2010. Their union allowed them to guide each other on a spiritual journey in which they both became closer to God and joined the Freedom Fellowship Christian Ministry. He assumed the responsibility of a father to Bessy’s children. She remembers him as “the best thing that has ever happened in [her] life.” Ewart “Cleveland” Russell leaves to continue his legacy, his wife Bessie, ten children, thirtytwo grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and two great, great .grandchildren. Although he is no longer with us in the physical form, let us not forget the impact he has left on each of our lives, and let us all take a piece of the optimism and integrity that he was so full of. May his soul rest in peace.
