34 It’s time for the most spook-tastic time of year! Fun parties, costumes, and candy – what’s not to like about Halloween! So this issue focuses on Halloween with a list of sexy costumes, a lineup of some choice Halloween parties and events, and a horrific Screen Savor. Eric McCormack that you likely know as Will from the NBC hit show Will & Grace wasn’t spooked at all by playing an openly gay man even though he was straight – in fact, he was thrilled to be part of reshaping the notion of being gay to the mainstream. We have the interview with the star on page 18. We also talked to Australian electronic music group, Rüfüs du Sol, that delivers their audio-visual live performance on October 25 in celebration of their newest album Solace. Read the Q&A with band member James Hunt on page 12. In this issue, we also introduce a new editorial feature: King’s Corner where Peach columnist Scott King offers his wisdom and advice to your life question. Check it out on page 32.

The View UpStairs
At Out Front Theatre Company Out Front Theatre Company opens its third season with the Southeastern Premiere of The View Upstairs. With book, music, and lyrics by Max Vernon, The View UpStairs tells the story of Wes, a young fashion designer from 2018, who buys an abandoned building in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Upon entering the space, he finds himself transported to the UpStairs Lounge, a vibrant ‘70s gay bar. As this forgotten community comes to life, Wes embarks on an exhilarating journey of self-exploration that spans two generations of queer history. This smash Off-Broadway hit, directed by Paul Conroy, features a gritty, glam rock score and a tight-knit ensemble of unforgettable characters including Kyle Larking as Wes, Byron Wigfall as Patrick, and Keena Hunt as Henri. The View UpStairs asks what has been gained and lost in the fight for equality, and how the past can help guide all of us through an uncertain future.

Another Atlanta Gay Pride has come and passed. Gay Pride was amazing this year! I did spend most of it working but still had a terrific time with friends. I missed the parade and park festivities my first year in Atlanta because it took me hours to convince my boyfriend at the time to come to Pride. He acted uncomfortable with his sexuality and being around so many gay people, but it was just another of his lies after I discovered he’d been out the whole time and only pretended to be closeted.
Anyway, this year’s gay pride was so much better than last. I didn’t get too wild. I definitely went crazier for Black Gay Pride. I did meet a cute new boy visiting from out of town. Not much happened besides making out and dancing together, and then we did see each other at the park the next day. I’m glad I got to see him before he headed back to Texas.
life without having to deal with a man.
I do fall for guys easily. My friend said I get bored easily. Which I want to deny, but it may be partially true. I’m a Scorpio. We’re either obsessed or not interested at all. I was seeing someone recently, but I feel over him since he didn’t put in any effort to see me during Pride. We were originally supposed to hang out, but he chose to hang out with his friends instead of me. It’s whatever. He lives too far away, even though here I am crushing over a guy that lives in another state.
Maybe that’s why I fall so hard so fast. I just think of all the possibilities and our future together. All that I’m yearning for in a relationship. Maybe this guy will be the one. Then when he’s not, I move on to the next one. Maybe this next guy will be the one. The cycle continues.
It’s still a weird period in my life. I’m turning 28 next month. I’ve been single since February. It’s Cuffing Season. I want a man, but don’t want problems, and all boys come with problems. I’m enjoying my independence, hustling and making money, having fun with friends, and living my
I do miss being in love. I miss coming home to a guy. Cuddling together. Cooking together. Going grocery shopping and running errands. I miss watching shows together, and not having a care in the world. All I want to do is hold and be held by the man I love. I need to find a man to love.
I’ve always been a hopeless romantic. Even though I can be a slut that moves from one guy to the next with no remorse. I do love to love. I believe in love and do have hope that each guy I fall for will be the one for me. Hope is the only reason that we put in an effort for love. Hope that we will find the one for us. That we’ll find our happily ever after, even if happily ever after isn’t realistic. We just want to find our “soul mate,” even though that’s an abstract term.
I’m really torn between “fuck love” and “I want to be in love.” Atlanta is getting dull. I’ve been here over a year, and I feel like all I see are the same guys in the clubs and online. Maybe I’m meant to be with a guy that lives far away. Outside the city, or even in a different state. I do frown upon long distance especially if it’s not for a set temporary amount of time. I’m open-minded. I’m getting older. My best friend is having a baby. My very first close friend to have a baby. It’s an odd feeling. It doesn’t give me baby fever or make me want to go and get married anytime soon. Thankfully most of my friends are in the same boat as me and can’t keep a man either. I’m getting tired of going from man to man hoping he’ll be the one. I’m ready for a boyfriend, even if it’s just temporary. I need a break from promiscuity, and I’m ready for love!

Electronica Goes Live! By Mikkel Hyldebrandt
The Australian trio behind electronic music sensation Rüfüs du Sol has gained progressively in popularity and fan base since their debut album Atlas from 2013 and their 2016 Bloom. Now they are back with Solace with a slightly deeper and darker sound that they hope will resonate just as well with listeners. Peach spoke to band member James Hunt about the upcoming album and their show on October 25 in Atlanta.
Give us a little background about Rüfüs du Sol. The three of us knew each other from high school, and we were all pursuing music in different ways. We met up again and bonded over mutual musical influences like Royksopp, Cut Copy, and Trentemøller. Eventually, we started making music together and produced a few Eps before our debut album, Atlas, in 2013.
To what do you attribute your huge success of previous albums Atlas and Bloom and now the warm reception of your new album single forerunners to Solace? It’s hard to say the specific reasons, but we all believe in writing music that rings true to our souls. We always ask ourselves if it hits us in the core. I guess it’s a very selfish process, but that mindset also alleviates any conjecture about it and prevents us from overthinking or losing track of the vitality of our music.
What were the inspirations behind Solace? We had a change of location moving from Berlin to Los Angeles, and this uprooting of ourselves, this destabilization, fed into the record. We’ve been touring for two years, and we have been listening to a lot of music along the way, so we dove head first into the process when we got into the studio. We became obsessed about writing and doing this thing. We also bought a bunch of new toys that we really wanted to
12 | 10.24.18
get our hands on. So, I guess there is some darkness on the record, but also hope and light.
What or who do you think has influenced the sound of Rufus du Sol? Trentemøller, Chemical Brothers, Röyksopp, and AME with their minimal electronica have been big influences. But also Nicholas Jaar with his texturally dark and warped electronic space that contrasts the cinematic with a raw base note. We developed this crushed and saturated sound with lots of contrasts and a lush, expansive sound. It’s a big progression for us with all new beat patterns that really open up the sound space.
How do you think more electronic music translates into a live concert environment? Right now, there is a resurgence of appreciation of live electronic music. It is something we give a lot of attention to because ultimately we are three musicians playing on stage with live instrumentation.
What can people expect from the concert on the 25th in Atlanta at the Coca-Cola Roxy? We spent months in this rehearsal cave, and we are excited to be out and about again. On this tour, we have allowed for many more jams and unexpected things that can happen from night to night. We really want to take people on a journey, so the audience can expect extended versions, more jamming, and we have an all new lighting setup. So it is going to be an audio-visual experience. Rüfüs du Sol’s latest album Solace is out on October 19, and they will perform at the Coca-Cola Roxy on Thursday, October 25.

Oh, The Horror! By Gregg Shapiro
You know how somethings improve with age? Well, “Exorcist II: The Heretic” (Scream Factory), now available in a collector’s edition Blu-ray, isn’t one of them. An incoherent mess when it was first released, the catastrophic 1977 sequel to “The Exorcist”, directed by John Boorman (“Deliverance” and “Hope and Glory”), features an intoxicated Richard Burton at his scenery-chomping worst.
*The views and opinions expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the opinion or position of Peach.
Even the few returning cast members, including Linda Blair, Kitty Winn and Max Von Sydow, couldn’t give this doomed production the credibility that it needed.
and original home video cut), a new (and very revealing) interview with Blair, new audio commentary by Boorman, still galleries and much more.
Father Lamont (a bumbling Burton) calls on the spirit of the late Father Merrin (Von Sydow) to assist him with an exorcism that goes wrong, resulting in the subject igniting herself with candles. Meanwhile in Manhattan, teenaged Regan (Blair) is onstage at a rehearsal for a tap-dance number (seriously?). Is she attempting to follow in her actress mother Chris’ footsteps? While that’s not clarified, what is obvious is that we never see Chris (she’s making a movie on location) because Burstyn turned down the role.
Far more frightening, considering the current political climate, is the triple-DVD set “American Horror Story: Cult – The Complete Seventh Season”(20th Century Fox Home Entertainment). Set in the days and months after the 2016 presidential election, the 11 episodes focus on two main characters. The first is massively phobic Ally (out actress Sarah Paulson) who, in addition to voting for Jill Stein, is having a psychotic break, brought on by the election results, as well as the presence of killer clowns terrorizing their small Michigan town.
In the next scene, Regan meets with her hypno-therapist Gene (an unfortunate Louise Fletcher) “to make her mom feel better”. Claiming not to remember what happened in Georgetown a few years earlier, other than being “sick”, Regan is regularly strapped into the doctor’s synchronized hypnosis device in an effort to make her well again. Before you know it, Fr. Lamont has tracked down Regan at Gene’s office. There’s lots of pseudo-religious and semi-psychiatric mumbo-jumbo. As you might expect, the priest and therapist are at odds. Nevertheless, at one point, Gene actually allows Fr. Lamont to take part in the shared hypnosis, leading a series of unfortunate events. Determined to find out the truth about what really happened to Fr. Merrin, Lamont travels to Africa where another exorcism subject may be the key to solving the mystery, which involves a massive swarm of locusts, among other things. And you haven’t lived until you’ve seen James Earl Jones in a giant locust costume. By the time Regan and Lamont end up back at the Georgetown house for the ultimate battle of good versus evil, you’ll probably feel like you’ve been possessed by confusion. The combination of Burton’s overacting and Blair’s underacting, matched with the awkward editing that is the movie’s trademark, make “Exorcist II: The Heretic” scary for all the wrong reasons. Blu-ray special features include two discs (original cut

While Ally and her wife Ivy (Alison Pill) are trying to adjust to the prospect of living in Trump World, brightblue-haired outsider Kai (Evan Peters) sees this as his chance to alleviate all of his white-man anger. Magnetic and terrifying, Kai soon amasses an army of devoted and bloodthirsty followers – newscaster Beverly (Adina Porter), detective Jack (out actor Colton Haynes), supermarket cashier Gary (Chaz Bono), nanny Winter (Billie Lourd), therapist Rudy (Cheyenne Jackson), married couple Harrison (out actor Billy Eichner) and Meadow (Leslie Grossman), among others -- for his new world order cult, as the body count mounts and mounts. With the new eighth season of the FX series currently airing, this is a good opportunity to catch up on what came before.

Eric McCormack’s Comedic Revolution By Chris Azzopardi
Eric McCormack auditioned for the role of gay lawyer Will on Will & Grace without realizing the effect he’d have on closeted teenagers. “I was worried about network executives and what the gay community would think,” he says, “but when I was thinking of the gay community, I wasn’t thinking of 16-year-olds.” In 1998, when the sitcom touched down on NBC in a TV universe that was distinctly less gay, the show presented itself as farcical comedy. But by the time it ran its course, ending (or so we thought) in 2006, Will & Grace was, through sheer existence, a cultural landmark leading the way for LGBTQ inclusivity in entertainment and in the broader world. And those ’90s teenagers? “What has been revealed is that it was (them) sort of peeking over (their) parents’ shoulder going, ‘OK, I like this show, this show’s for me,’ and, ‘Hey, if my mom likes this show then I can do this,’” McCormack says. Eleven years went by without Will, his roommate Grace (Debra Messing), his gay pal Jack (Sean Hayes) and Jack’s rollicking, boozed bestie, Karen (Megan Mullally). Marriage equality happened. More queer characters – trans, of color – happened. And in 2017, with Trump jabs and jokes scoffing at discriminatory cake bakers, Will & Grace returned to NBC with a new agenda for the queer-comedy revolution it once led. Recently, McCormack, 55, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and this month, became the recipient of the Point Foundation’s Impact Award in recognition of his significant impact on the LGBTQ community. Here, the actor reflects on playing Will during a more conservative time in America, the episode NBC cut from reruns and the significance of gay actors portraying his love interests.

Continued on pg. 20 >>>>
When you first began playing Will, how much more attention did you get from gay men? (Laughs) Well, I’m from the theater, so I was pretty much already gettin’ my share! But this is national primetime television, known to the world. (Laughs) I think that was the most interesting journey, because in the theater, all through my 20s, when I first started doing television guest spots in Toronto and Vancouver, I did a bunch of gay roles. I was a bartender at the gay bar, and I was the guy in the office who the girl thought was coming onto her – but I say, “Honey, I’m gay.” These roles accumulated for me, and nobody else knew I was doing them. When Will finally landed for me, I didn’t have to go out and do a lot of research. My best friends were gay men, I grew up in the theater. So, it was a natural extension. But when it suddenly, as you say became “national,” there was – yeah, you have to be careful with that (attention), though, because what happens automatically is NBC phones and says, “Hey, People magazine wants to do a thing on you,” and of course People magazine always features you and your wife in the kitchen making pasta, right? Or something dopey like that. (Laughs) So within two months it’s clear (I’m) married, but you don’t want it to look like you begged People magazine to show the world that you’re straight. It could’ve backfired, and that’s the thing I’m always grateful for: the LGBT community could’ve just said, “Eh, another one, no.” But they didn’t. Representation has evolved and shifted in the last 20 years, and now there’s more criticism of straight actors taking on LGBTQ roles. Can you reflect on that era versus now as far as straight actors portraying LGBTQ characters? I think the pendulum swings, and I really do think it’s project to project. I think what we’re doing with the trans community – first of all, that wasn’t even an expression 20 | 10.24.18
for most Americans five years ago, so it’s important how we handle that because a lot of Americans will go, “Well, trans is like what? He puts on a dress?” A lot of people just don’t know. So, it’s important that, if there is a role that is specifically trans, we cast a trans actor so that we start to educate. The flipside to me is that whenever someone says you were straight playing gay, I say, “Well, yeah, Neil Patrick Harris played the biggest womanizer and he’s quite openly gay, so I feel like it’s OK.” So I think if there’s a balance, and if it happens in the right ways, if we make sure that people of color and women are represented, that we’re doing the right thing by all the communities that have needed it, then it’s great. But if we swing too far the other way, we’re starting to get to a point where I think we’re missing the forest for the trees. Do you have any real-life examples of how Will and Jack spoke to the part of America that didn’t understand or weren’t accepting of LGBTQ people? The thing I always loved from the beginning: We were making a very right-down-the-middle, must-see-TV kind of show that just happened to have two gay characters. But they were not matching gay characters, and to have those two as best friends who support each other but also occasionally criticize each other, I thought that was possibly the most educational piece for Americans who didn’t have a lot of gay friends. To see how Jack would criticize Will for not being out there, for not being loud and proud, for not dating enough, and Will would – there was an episode (called “Will Works Out,” in season one) that was quite amazing where we were in the same gym and Jack was flouncing about. Will kind of mutters the “f” word under his breath – calls him a “fag” – and it’s something that when (Jack) says it to Grace, he’s like, “Will, what’s the matter with you?” And Will is like, “He’s embarrassing! He embarrasses me!” Will eventually apologies because
it’s his own inability to be himself, but we tackle that. NBC stopped showing it in reruns for a while because it really was a big word to say, particularly from a character that we wanted you to love. When the revival was announced, there were people who weren’t sure what to expect from a Will & Grace in 2017 because the community had made so much progress since the show’s first iteration. Were you guys hearing the noise, and if so, how were you responding to it behind the scenes? Most of the noise that we got came after everybody saw the piece we did for Hillary (Clinton), the 10 minutes on YouTube, which just proved it was possible for us to do this again. People generally were excited about that. That’s what I heard, mostly. Then, as we got closer, there were pundits saying, “How valuable can it be in 2017?” And my response is always: It only needs to be this valuable because it’s a sitcom. We’re not a parade that is marching in city hall and shouting. We’re a sitcom, and we shout in our own way. The show’s first revival season in 2017 tackled politics and other hot-button issues. What topic from this current season do you most appreciate the show working in? I think, obviously, the umbrella topic they’re using in the ads is the idea of marriage. Jack is going to get married, and so that’s great. We had episodes (before the revival) where I had the closest thing you could get to marriage back then with Taye Diggs, and then again with Bobby Cannavale. I mean, to me, that’s one of my proudest moments on the show, that I actually had a commitment ceremony in Will’s apartment with Taye Diggs, a white man and a black man, a big, long kiss. Hall & Oates performed (laughs). And it was virtually not even spoken of. This is probably season six or seven, but it barely even made the press because people were so like, “Whatever. Who’s Will making out with this week?” But people don’t remember that always. They always wanna talk about, “Well, Will is a bit sterile.” It’s like, No, no; if you watch the show throughout, I had Patrick Dempsey, I had Bobby Cannavale. I had lots of hot guys and married a couple of them. And if anyone has forgotten, you get with Matt Bomer this season to remind people. Well, first of all, he’s the greatest guy. So freakin’ funny and gay, so it’s not like the old days where we get another straight guy to come in and we both act gay together. Now there’s a bit more authenticity to it, and he was so great that I think we’ll see more of Matt. Is the dynamic different for you when your love interest is played by a gay actor? When I think of last season, it’s three romantic moments I had and all three were with men who are actually gay and they were all Broadway guys, which was just great:
Andrew Rannells and Ben Platt and Cheyenne Jackson. And yeah, for me I just loved that. It’s a step forward, and there will always be someone from the community saying, “Well, why aren’t they in bed?” And I’ll go, yeah, I know, but we still have the Ku Klux Klan. Let’s remember that this is a public network; it’s 9 o’clock, and we want young kids that haven’t been able to come out to their parents to watch the show and have that parent love the show. The show was never about overtly pushing buttons. We were competing with Sex and the City where they could do anything they wanted because they were HBO. We had to do it more surreptitiously, more subtly. Sean alluded to possibly seeing Jack and Will together, romantically, in the future. Do you see that as a possibility? In a gay way, that’s the Sam and Diane of it all. (Laughs) Early on, because that’s how conservative network television was, people were thinking, “Well, maybe Will and Grace will get together, maybe she’ll fix him!” And as time went by, they started to realize that’s not what this show is. This is not the gay-conversion comedy. But Will and Jack – it’s my favorite stuff to play. When he and I are together, we have so much fun. But we have to be careful how much we tease that out, because you do that and then that’s a different show. You played gay at a time when some straight male actors were told not to for the sake of their career. As a straight man auditioning for a gay role, did you or your team have any concerns? I don’t remember that being a thing. I got two scenes into reading it and I just thought, “This is one of those shows. This is a Thursday night show. I bet they get Jim Burrows to direct it.” It just read like that, and that overpowered any fears. Plus, by that time, I’m 35, I’d been in the business a while, I’d been watching Seinfeld and Friends for years – that’s what I wanted. And I think probably the opposite happened, because I had played a number of gay roles – I’d done drag roles – so this not only didn’t scare me but it made me think, “This is the one whose head will rise above the crowd because it’s not just Suddenly Susan or Caroline in the City; this is its own thing. There’s no other show like this at the moment.” And that’s what proved to happen. But can you still walk in heels? (Laughs) You caught me on a good day – I’m breakin’ in a new pair of pumps.

COSTUME CONTEST HOSTED BY SHAVONNA B. BROOKS
Midtown Moon BEST COSTUME WINS $100 CASH PRIZE HOSTED BY TRASHETTA GALORE AND PRIZES FOR 2ND AND 3RD PLACE
Don’t be a drag. Just be a King. Wisdom and advice from Peach columnist Scott King. Dear King,
Dear Mr. Scott,
Why do I care what other people think of me? I’m in my mid-thirties, but I still feel like a teenager on the inside. I’m mature, responsible, and well-adjusted to adult life, but I feel like I derive far too much of my self-worth based on feedback (and perceived feedback) from others. What’s up with that?
Is it okay to have crushes on straight guys? Is it okay to flirt with and hook up with straight guys? Am I being hegemonic or anti-LGBT when I allow non-queer cock in my mouth?
Insecurely yours, Self-Doubting Thomas
Dear Mr. Thropic, Of course you are. How dare you!
Dear Doubting, Try judging people less. It’s amazing how much insecurity melts away when we let go of our judgments and preconceived notions of others. You will have so much more fun at the club once you stop worrying about who is groovy and hot and who is an unsavory asshole. And yes, judgments go both ways, both in the positive and the negative directions. When you decide someone is super sexy and you want him to be your boyfriend for the month, that is a judgment. And it’s usually based on just a very little bit of information that is mostly superficial. You’re probably nervous about people judging you, and what people think because your brain is filled with what YOU think about those people. Imagine a guy across the room. He’s also preoccupied with what people think of him. He can’t possibly have the time or brain space to be thinking about whether you are hot or not. Or care. As you get older, you will find that, even though you do still care what people think, it affects you less and less. It’s a part of gathering experience in life. The little stuff bothers you less. Unless you have clinical anxiety. Then I can’t help you. Then you should see a doctor. I’m not being facetious. I am literally just trying to help. Good luck!
Thirstfully yours, Mr. Andy Thropic
I’m just kidding. From the mouth of babes, right? I have only heard this lukewarm ideology espoused by queens under the age of 26. And they are mostly quoting books they haven’t read. This lack of intellectual integrity makes it fun for me to pick apart, but it is dangerous in its influence on sensitive minds like yours. No one should judge you for the type of person to whom you are sexually attracted, so long as both of you are human adults. As long as it’s not children or animals, someone judging you for your sexual orientation and your sexual taste is FASCISM. Resist! Also, this idea that someone who constructs their sexual orientation or their gender identity differently from us is therefore not as good as us or is “wrong” is purely puritanical. Just as you shouldn’t shame someone for being bottom or being loudly and proudly fem, you shouldn’t shame someone for exaggerating their masculinity, unless this exaggerated masculinity becomes toxic, aggressive or hostile. Performative masculinity in and of itself does not deserve a sneer. Hegemonic, normativizing queens can be found at all points on the gender and orientation spectrums. Just because I’m bougie or basic doesn’t make me a bad person. It just makes me different from you. A snide comment or an ostentatious eye roll is no more woke than a bro getting all up in your face. Let’s all be better people! Thank you for your question.
Do you sometimes wonder, ‘what is wrong with me’? Why do I get fed a shit sandwich every day for breakfast lunch and dinner? Is there a bee in your bonnet that you just can’t shake? Well then, pull up a chair at King’s Corner, the new monthly spiritual/existential advice column in Peach. Submit your queries to scottwilliamking@gmail.com and wait patiently for the sound of the royal trumpets of wisdom.

Ask for What You Want By Jamie Kirk It is really important to ask for you want. If you don’t want it, don’t ask for it. We have to remember that most things we focus on and give our attention to will manifest into the reality of our lives. Looking at what is going on and remembering to change the course at a moment’s notice, is up to us. We have the power of positive thinking. The power of positive energy. The power of control. It all belongs to us. We tend to lose sight that when things go “bump in the night,” it is sometimes our own fault. It can be attributed to our thought processes and the way we are approaching the outcome. We tend to think negatively but hope for the best. Looking at the reality and hoping for a great outcome yet prepare ourselves for the worst-case scenario, which seldom ever happens. We tend to be ready to fight the negative forces with all our energy. But what if we took that energy and made it for good. To reference Halloween: What if we took our wicked ways and made them work FOR us, instead of against us. We have to be mindful of the outcome we want. Let’s dig a little deeper. If your first thought today was, “I don’t want to go to work or school,” then you understand the concept of being out of alignment. Even though you say, “I don’t like my job,” you will do everything possible to get to work and do your job because that job fills a need or purpose in your life. Unfortunately, the amount of energy it takes to force yourself to do what your mind and body resists takes you out of alignment. Alignment is the 34 | 10.24.18
proper adjustment of the components involved for coordinated functioning. This means bringing your mind and body into an agreement in order to support the purpose being served. So, instead of complaining about what you don’t what to do, while you are doing it, invest that energy in the thoughts and emotions that will keep you in alignment with “living your best life.” Be compassionate. Go for the joy. Be loving toward yourself, and others. These are just a few of the critical ingredients of alignment. Shifting our approach will change the outcome. There is no need to announce to the world “I am feeling very aligned today.” Just do it and watch how folks change around you. You can’t make a change for the better and people around you stay negative. The shift in how you ask for what you want will touch everything and everyone you come in contact with. Your friends and family will not be able to put their finger on it. Your co-workers will not understand why you are coming in early and leaving later. Your significant other will not understand why you want to have more sex and are generally in a better mood. All I know is that you will be drawing nearer to what you want. You will be able to quickly remove yourself (not at first, but eventually) from people, places and things that get in the way of your peace path. I’m not gay! It’s a rumor started by all the men I slept with.
Asking for a friend: What do you do when you’re mad at him but still in the mood? Him: Are you ok? Me: Yeah, just thinking… Him: About what? Me: Oh, nothing…
You’re so ugly, you have to Trick or Treat by phone!
Him: Is it another guy? Me: No, I’m thinking about how Cinderella’s shoe could have fallen off. It was supposed to fit perfectly!
For Halloween you should as the person you claim to be on social media. Maybe if your d**k was thicker than your eyebrows then we wouldn’t be having this conversation!
What do we call people who don’t like Halloween? Boring. We call them boring.
To be out is the single greatest thing one can do for equality. It takes courage, hope, and strength to live out and proud.
It’s Halloween season, not football season!

ARIES (MAR. 21 - APR. 19)
LIBRA (SEP. 23 - OCT. 22)
Minutiae weighs you down today as details keep you from moving forward. Look at it as a positive thing, and take your time. After a few rough patches, things should finally work out.
Despite your obvious social skills, you find that nerves are keeping you from approaching someone you’ve had your eye on. Don’t let anxiety knock you out of balance with too many details. Thinking too much could prevent you from doing anything at all.
TAURUS (APR. 20 - MAY 20)
SCORPIO (OCT. 23 - NOV. 21)
Emotional attachments may blossom today if you drop your stubborn defenses long enough to look at things deeper. Your courtship will advance to the next level if you make him feel attractive and at ease.
You may feel like you’re doing a cameo on General Hospital as friends line up to have you diagnose a cure for their latest dramas. It’s a service your therapist gets paid handsomely for, yet you’re never one to deny a friend. Your intuition borders on psychic, making your ability to uncover the truth a valuable tool.
GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUN. 20)
SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 - DEC. 21)
Get organized today by taking care of all the little things you’ve been putting off. Things like paying bills, restocking the kitchen and running errands. Don’t make returning phone calls a priority, as recent misunderstandings make communicating with others a challenge today, especially with family.
A difficult situation may have you questioning your faith in a strong belief today. Opening yourself to new ideas and thoughts can sooth your spirit, and perhaps help you see old situations (and people) in a shiny new light.
CANCER (JUN. 21 - JUL. 22)
CAPRICORN (DEC. 22 - JAN. 19)
Food can be therapeutic, so chase away the blues by getting busy in the kitchen. Preparing for a meal is a great time to get some thinking done, so feed your brain and your tummy. Better yet, invite Mr. Special over for a night of food and stimulating conversation. Who knows where it could lead?
You may have to do your research to get to the bottom of things today. Planning your strategy well will reap tremendous benefits. The facts are all there -- all you have to do is find them.
LEO (JUL. 23 - AUG. 22)
AQUARIUS (JAN. 20 - FEB. 18)
Your willingness to act quickly will come in handy today as an unexpected shift in policy forces you to review a situation. Draw in your troops as you decide how to proceed. Insight, not impulsiveness, is in order.
Proceed with caution with any business dealings today, and especially watch with whom you’re dealing. You two may not be on the same page. You’re only seeing the tip of that iceberg. By looking deeper, you can avert a disaster of titanic proportions.
VIRGO (AUG. 23 - SEP. 22)
PISCES (FEB. 19 - MAR. 20)
Your desire to help serve others may prompt you to take community action today. Volunteer for an organization, participate in the AIDS Ride or stump for a political candidate you trust and respect. If you can’t find an organization that suits your needs, start your own.
A difficult period with someone close has you wondering how well you really know him. Seeing another’s darker personality traits can be a challenge in any relationship, and it always leaves a taint. Seeing past another’s faults can have a healing effect, or push you into calling the whole thing off.

WHAT happened was . . . By Mikkel Hyldebrandt
Trouble in the love department? With sex? Or just people in general? Send us your queries, questions, and problems, and you’ll get answers served straight up and with a little ice.
Ok, this sounds weird, but I think I pulled a muscle in my groin last time I had sex. It hurts like a mother, and worst of all, it is keeping me from having sex. In fact, I tried the other night, and I had to stop, send the guy home and lay down the rest of the night with an ice pack where that guy should have been ‘servicing’ me. What happened, how can I treat it, and does it go away?
Sincerely Pull My Muscle Dear Pull My Muscle It sounds like you have a groin strain which is what happens when the adductor – the muscle in the upper thigh that pulls the leg together when it contracts – is stretched too far or meets too much force. It’s usually an injury related to sports but can, of course, also occur when having sex. It sounds like you have done something right by following R.I.C.E.: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Now you have to take it easy for a few weeks, which also means no sex or sports. After a couple of weeks, start easy, ice the area afterward, put on compression, and if you experience pain, take some ibuprofen, which will also help with any swelling.
and they quickly discover that they can likely get something out of the situation however cynical that may seem. You wanting a relationship is maybe also putting you in a position where you actually provide at least part of what these guys want, which, in turn, puts you in a state of co-dependence. So to get it right, my suggestion is that you start with yourself and learn a little about your insecurities and how you tackle them. What you give should be reciprocated. Working on your flaws and strengths will ultimately give you new confidence and make you realize that you should never settle for anything less than you deserve.
I have met this wonderful, and after a year of dating, we are madly in love with each other. There is a 15 year age difference between us which is fine, but we have both heard comments about him being a houseboy, me being a sugar daddy, and that we should date closer to our age. It shouldn’t bother me, but it does, and I don’t want to end up losing friends or my boyfriend over this. A little help, please!
Sincerely Ageless Lovers Dear Ageless Lovers
I feel like I have the worst taste in men. I meet these guys that are gorgeous and seem great to start with, but they end up wanting something from me (a place to stay, money, drugs), or they have deeprooted issues. I’m starting to think that the issue is not them but me because the scenario simply repeats itself. What can I do to get it right for once?
Sincerely Heartbreak Rotation
It sounds like a cliché, but it is true: if you love each other, then age means nothing. People will always talk, and you have no control over it. What you do have some control over is the fact that you are in a happy and loving relationship, and you should focus the energy you spend worrying about age difference into your relationship. Don’t miss out on this opportunity with this man – and if your friends are really your friends, they better support you unconditionally!
Dear Heartbreak Rotation Sometimes we project something without even realizing it. Maybe you wanting a relationship really bad is something that some guys pick up on, 52 | 10.24.18
