Observe the banners hanging from the lamp standards donated to the town by local artists. Peachland’s culture zone includes Heritage Park, housing the beautiful Rotary Pavilion (a great place for a wedding). In the park every Sunday from May to October local artisans display handcrafted wares, alongside the local producers of fruit and vegetables and all manner of other tasty treats made from authentic, local ingredients. This Farmers and Crafters Market happens to be held in the most picturesque of all aspects – alongside Okanagan Lake. You experience the ambience of yesteryear, the lake sparkling at you, friends stopping to chat. Sunday afternoons the Peachland Rotary Club sponsors a summer music series – Music in the Park. Again join us lakeside in our emerald green, beautifully landscaped Heritage Park. Bring your lawn chair and your device. FREE WIFI!

Local musicians perform el fresco throughout the season. Internationally known artists, who call Peachland their home, can be seen and delightfully heard casually entertaining folks at outdoor eatery patios. And you never know when a jamming session will just happen! Music is always in the air in Peachland. Come on down; it’s a party. Your Old Town walking tour will eventually wind you to the Little Schoolhouse where you can be charmed by a Sunday tea and art exhibit or take in one of the many interactive art series they host. Twice a year the local Peachland Players perform highly entertaining productions at Fourth Street Place. And the latest cultural adventure? Stop in at the Peachland Visitor & Legends of the Lake Interpretive Centre. Be surprised, it’s a work in progress! Drop into the Visitor Centre for more information. The echoes of the past surround you as you walk from the south start of Beach Avenue. Before immersing yourself in the unique, eight sided Peachland Museum enjoy the outside murals depicting the stories that comprise Peachland’s history. In the museum you will also be enthralled with the miniature railroad and of course more stories. You can collect your Historic Old Town brochure at the museum and start your self guided walking tour through the appealing downtown core.

WOW!

Learn all about the Peachland Yuma Bat colony that makes its home in the attic of the historic Peachland Primary School building, recently refurbished and now housing the Peachland Visitor & Legends of the Lake Interpretive Centre. The colony lives in the roost from April to October. During that time period you can watch the bats ‘live’ at our bat station via video cameras or you may want to take a blanket and sit outside the Primary School on a starry night to observe these little mammals take fl ight across the lake for their nightly foraging. Follow this story and view the ‘Bat Chat’ schedule at www.peachlandbats.ca or www.visitpeachland.ca

Expect the unexpected! They’re out there! The geese gather on Centennial Pathway, ducks leave the lake and waddle down Beach Avenue, every other street is a ‘quails crossing’, deer wander, eagles soar. Nature lovers rejoice – Peachland is seriously populated. Even the most illusive of all creatures – Ogopogo – calls Squally Point – across from Peachland’s shores – its home. Reported sightings date back more than 300 years. This lake dweller is thought by cryptozoolologists to possibly be a plesiosaur – perhaps not extinct after all! It captures the imagination. So bring your binoculars and be at the ready. You just might be the next to spot Ogopogo. Follow this story on www.visitpeachland.ca

The Bedford Trail Network is accessible via Princeton Ave., 9.1km west of the intersection of Princeton Ave. and Hwy.97. Its trailhead appears as a clearing on your right, with signage affixed to trees. The Bedford trails consist of numerous two-track resource roads, other routes interface with the main trail network, but only the core networks sport signage. Two-track extends northeast for 3km, reaching Spring Lake before looping back to Princeton Ave. Connecting trails interface with the Lookout Loop. The Lookout Loop compliments the Bedford Trail Network, but is unique in providing access to arcing panoramic vistas north, south and east. The Loop trailhead appears as a pull-off approximately 8.8km up Princeton Ave. on your right-hand side. This trail presents few challenges and offers excellent hiking, cycling and equestrian adventures. Hardy Falls is located 230m along Hardy St., then 400m along a well-kept Regional Park path. The wheelchair accessible route crosses seven bridges ending at a beautiful, secluded namesake waterfall. Its trail is well marked and easy to follow to it’s terminus. The boardwalk offers an extremely easy in and out route for all ages and abilities. Hike and bike friendly.

ve.

Pincushion Mt. offers one of the most impressive viewpoints in this area. Its summit is accessible via a 2.75km drive up Ponderosa Dr., the trailhead is obvious as a pullout on your right at a tight left-hand hairpin in the road. Pincushion’s steep singletrack route offers a challenge for much of its length and could be described as intermediate to advanced. It’s steep trail renders it exclusively for hiking and trail-running activities.

lls

Stavepipe Trail is accessible from numerous points, including signed trailheads located at Pincushion Place via Sixth Ave., Peachland Elementary School on Clements Crescent and the Trepanier Rd.- Okanagan Connector Overpass. The Trepanier entrance is located 6km west along the Connector measured from the interchange on Hwy.97 and Hwy.97c. This access is charred from a 2012 wildfire. Suggested access is via Beach Ave. south of the small bridge that crosses Trepanier Cr. Rated as easy for most of it’s length, the route is best suited to foot and mountain bike traffic.

cton

Centennial Pathway stretches from First to Thirteenth St., hugging the beautiful Peachland downtown beaches. It provides sun, surf, sand and casual shopping at the many downtown retail establishments. Its paved surface is wheelchair accessible and provides a relaxing, casual stroll. The Trepanier Trail may be accessed via 6th Ave, the Stavepipe Trail or the overpass along the Okanagan Connector. It follows Trepanier Cr. for 2.6km between the Stavepipe Trail and the Connector overpass.

WOW!

Come outside! Exciting winter escapades can be had in our backcountry hills – book an ATV adventure or take your snowshoes, cross country skis and blaze your own trail. Ice fi shing in our pristine lakes is the best kept secret. Now you know! Join in the hilarity of our Annual Polar Bear Swim, attend our Christmas Light Up Festival, and toboggan in Turner Park. Daytrip to a great selection of neighbouring hills for skiing and snowboarding. Return from your adventures to Peachland; your home base. Peachland can be your hub for an ‘any season’ stay. In the wintertime the walkway is the safest in the valley and enchanting at night. After your daytrips to the various ski hills and Peachland’s own winter wonderland backcountry, plan to retreat yourself in the sweetest place under the sun. We are perfectly located between larger centres Penticton and Kelowna. www.BigWhiteMtninfo.com www.crystalresort.com www.SunPeaksResort.com www.ApexMatters.com
