Rotary Club makes donation to Peachland Food Bank

The funds came from last fall’s gourmet dinner rafe and the Christmas Light Up proceeds. Most of more than $2,000 from the gourmet dinner rafe went towards food bank Christmas hampers.

The Peachland Fire and Rescue Brigade will host the tenth annual Schmockey Tournament at Cousins Park this Sunday afternoon. Residents are invited to come out to watch or participate in the family friendly outdoor event. Schmockey is a field version of hockey played with a softball instead of a puck. Peachland Fire and Rescue Brigade president Matt Stoltz says there are no age limits or restrictions to team dynamics and the tournament is organized to encourage recreation outdoors for friends and families alike. Participation in the event is free of charge. Organizers say teams must have a minimum of six players on the field, with as many substitutes as they would like, only entering onto the field with the referee’s permission and signal. Hockey sticks will be provided. Newcomers are welcome and invited to participate in the one-day family event. There will be a live deejay at the event along with fire pits for spectators and players to keep warm. The family event will in-
