PEACHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL was a sea of pink on Feb. 24 as students and staff donned pink shirts purchased by the PES parents advisory council (PAC) in celebration of Pink Shirt Day.
The focus of this year’s PES Pink Shirt Day activities, led by Grade 2 teacher Alexa Kennedy (above far left) was to encourage students to empower one another to take positive action beyond simply acknowledging the issue of bullying. In preparation for the day, Kennedy’s class, pictured above, created Pink Shirt artwork bearing words of encouragement and suggestions for positive actions.
